  1. I spent 8 years in the Marines (1996-2000, 2002-2007) and was proud to serve our country. I would like to thank all the vets for their service, those that are currently serving and especially to those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Semper Fi!!
  2. Bills remaining schedule: 11/13 @ Dallas Cowboys 1:00 pm - Winnable 11/20 @ Miami Dolphins 1:00 pm - Winnable 11/27 @ New York Jets 1:00 pm - After this past sunday's game, I'm going with a Loss here 12/04 Tennessee Titans 1:00 pm - Winnable 12/11 @ San Diego Chargers 4:15 pm - Winnable 12/18 Miami Dolphins 1:00 pm - Winnable 12/24 Denver Broncos 1:00 pm - Winnable 1/01 @ New England Patriots 1:00 pm - Depends if the AFC East is on the line. It's a winnable game, but I would have to go with the Pats since the game is in Foxboro, plus the Pats play better against the Bills in the 2nd meeting of the year. IMO, the Bills could go 6-2 in the 2nd half of the season. I'll say it again: "Could go 6-2", it doesn't mean I'm expecting it to happen. 6-2 would put the Bills at 11-5. IMO, I wouldn't doubt to see some 10-6 teams this year miss the playoffs, because the AFC is very competitive. Too bad the Bills didn't play in the NFC, the Bills would have been division champs or made it in as a wild card a bunch of times this past decade. Seeing the Seahawks & Rams in the playoffs last year with their lousy records was a joke.
  3. I'm disappointed with how Smith are Spiller are being used. I know Fred Jackson is having an MVP type year, but with Spiller's talent & speed, I don't know why he's not used much more. I would like to see Spiller & D. Nelson split time at the slot WR position and give Nelson reps as a #2 WR. Donald Jones drops about 98% of the passes thrown to him on the sidelines, so why not try those passes to Nelson?
  4. Never said they were frauds, just said their weaknesses got exposed, big difference!! IMO, I really like the direction Nix & Gailey have the team pointed in, but they still have some work to do. Nix & Gailey have built the Bills up quicker than anyone expected, but they still have holes on the team. Like others have said about Donald Jones, how times are you going to throw the ball to him on 3rd & short and he misses 98% of the time? That's ridiculous!! The play doesn't work, but yet they still try forcing it multiple times a game?! Spiller showed last year that he's capable of catching deep passes, I'd rather see the Bills try those passes to Spiller instead. The 4th & inches play was absolutely terrible!! Dick Jauron did the exact same thing against the Pats 5 years ago with a long drawn up run play and it failed miserably. QB sneak should have been the first option, 2nd option should have been a fake QB sneak into a short pass play. The best fake QB sneak attempt I've seen the Bills use was when Mularkey had Bledsoe pretend to go for the QB sneak, then threw it back to McGahee and he ran it in 33 yards for a TD. I like Gailey's creativity so far, but that 4th & inches play was the worst possible call he's made so far this year.
  5. I give credit to Nix & Gailey, they put a patchwork O-line together and they're making it work. In regards to my post, you build your team to win your division. Right now, the Bills are not built up enough to beat the Jets. If the Pats had even a half-way decent defense, to go along with their offense, the Bills would have lost that game. I'm not trying to be doom & gloom here, the Bills are doing much better than people anticipated, but the Bills still have work to do on both sides of the ball.
  6. I mentioned a Vincent Jackson type WR, that is tall around 6'4"-6'5", speedy, catch passes on the hash marks near the sidelines and can be that deep threat (guess you could mention a Plaxico Burress type WR as well). I like Johnson & Nelson, but they need help. I like Chandler as well, but IMO he's more of a backup than a starter. To compete with the 3 top CB's of the Jets, the Bills multiple need offensive weapons like the Pats have. A #2 WR to compliment Johnson & Nelson and a pass catching TE that can grab 4-8 passes a game, plus be able to stretch the field & grab passes down the middle of the field. Anyways, how have you been? I haven't from you in a while. I was hoping Easley would have panned out, but that didn't happen. I have never been high on Donald Jones and don't know what the coaches see in him? I think Jones makes a good S.T. player, but not a #2 WR.
  7. All good points. The Bills are getting closer, but still have a ways to go.
  8. Yesterday, the Jets trio of Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie, and Kyle Wilson, made it very tough for Fitz to throw to his receivers. For the most part S. Johnson (besides the 2 great catches he made) was contained for most of the day. Donald Jones had no impact whatsoever. I know this is Jones' first week back from injury, but I haven't been impressed with him and don't see what the coaches see in him. While I like Scott Chandler, IMO he is a backup TE playing as a starter. You're suppose to build a team to win the division. If Nix & Gailey want to win the AFC East and beat the Jets & Patriots on a consistent basis, then they need to do some upgrading. On offense, the Bills need a true #2 WR, someone in the build of Vincent Jackson, that is tall, fast and can beat DB's on the outside. Also, the Bills need a pass catching TE that can catch more than 4 passes a game and can stretch the field down the middle. I know the Bills FO was hoping Shawn Nelson was that guy, but Nelson couldn't stay healthy, got suspended and couldn't produce consistently. On Defense, the Bills need OLB's that can consistently put pressure on the QB. The Bills are getting closer to being a real contender, but they still have work ahead of them.
  9. While I like Eric Wood a lot, I have to say Andy Levitre is our best O-lineman.
  10. I was worried as well, but I was very happy with the front 3's performance today. Hopefully K. Williams can come back close to 100% this year.
  11. To start the game today, Dareus was officially listed at NT. During the game I saw him lined up at NT and at DE as well. By far, this was Dareus' best game as a pro, as he had 2.5 sacks in the game and 4 Tackles (2 solo, 2 assist). I'm not sure how many plays he was in at NT today, but he did an outstanding job. I'm also not sure if George Edwards has tried this so far this season, but once Kyle Williams is healthy, Edwards should rotate the NT, DT & DE spots between Williams & Dareus (if G. Edwards has tried this already, I apologize). I'm really hoping that Kyle Williams can get his foot healed and be the terror that he was last year. It was very exciting seeing the Bills get constant pressure on the QB today and especially 9 sacks.
  12. Thanks for the post. That's encouraging news to hear.
  13. Obviously, you're a Rob Johnson fan. You're the type that complained about Flutie's stats even though the Bills were winning games. Whether you win by 1 point or 50 points, the result is still the same. Yes the Bills D is giving up a ton of yards, but the Bills D has already surpassed their INT total already from last year in 5 games so far this season, so it's a trade off.
  14. Whether we're 5-1 or 4-2 going into the bye week, we're in good shape. While the defense is giving up a lot if yards, they're getting turnovers. The D has more INT's after 5 games than they had in 16 games last season. Don't nit-pick, a win is a win, something the Bills only did 4 times last season. Enjoy the ride folks!
  15. I didn't know the Bills had to play the Bengals and the refs yesterday? 1. I hate the "Tuck Rule". I thought the Raiders got screwed against the Pats in the AFC Championship game, and the Bills got screwed out of a TD yesterday. 2. How in the hell was Stevie's catch ruled incomplete? Even on the replay, it looked liked he had possession the entire way through. That took the Bills from 1st down in Bengals territory, to 4th down. 3. I saw at least 2 pass interference calls that weren't called against the Bengals D. 4. Our secondary sucks!!! McKelvin can't handle bigger WR's or TE's. The Bills need to upgrade the secondary big time in the offseason. 5. While the pass rush showed some life, it's still nowhere near it needs to be. The Bills need some dominating OLB's to get pressure on the QB. 6. Even though Donald Jones had a better week last week, I'm still not impressed with him. I know he is learning as this is his first real season of playing time, but he needs to get better. If not, then we'll need a better option at the #2 WR position. Even though the Bills didn't look as good as their first 3 weeks, I thought they played well enough to win. It sucks to have officiating altering the game. If the Bills can go 4-2 at the bye, then we'll still be in good shape.
  16. I'm not buying ESPN or anyone else's in the media that still has negative things to say about the Bills. The proof is in the record 3-0, the offensive stats and the improved run defense that is making teams one-dimensional.
  17. I saw that on nfl.com: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d82299890/article/lewis-says-bengals-turnaround-will-begin-this-week-vs-bills?module=HP11_headline_stack That will definitely get the Bills fired up for the game. I'm expecting a beatdown of the Bengals similar to Week 1 vs the Chiefs.
  18. I agree. I watched Brady eat up the Dolphins whenever they blitzed, so the Bills had the right game plan by keeping Brady contained in the pocket, not letting him move around or step up and by the front 7 getting their hands & bodies up to deflect passes.
  19. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2011/09/26/fitzs-last-16-mirror-kellys-best/ "Jim Kelly was 304-474 (64.1%) passing for 3,844 yards with 33 touchdowns and 17 interceptions and a passer rating of 97.6. Ryan Fitzpatrick was 327-552 (59.2%) passing for 3,841 yards with 32 touchdowns and 18 interceptions and a passer rating of 86.2." "And if Fitz stays healthy and makes all 16 starts this season he’s on pace to do the following. (Just keep in mind he’s on a torrid pace right now and maintaining it will prove difficult): 385-593 passing for 4,499 yards with 48 touchdowns and 16 interceptions." 48 TD's?! That would be unbelievable, but then again, so is this 3-0 start and a win against the Pats. I know 40 TD's would be hard to imagine, but 30+ TD's this season is more than reasonable, considering the offense's play in the first 3 games.
  20. Yesterday, on one of the post game shows, the announcer pointed out that when Wannstedt & Gailey were together in Miami, they beat the Pats 2 out of 3 times. Looks like they're 3 out of 4 against the Pats now.
  21. YPC is nothing to be worried about. Last year, the Pats ran for 200+ yards in each game and the Chiefs had 277 rushing yards as well. This year, the Bills gave up 108 rushing yards to the Chiefs & Pats, and 131 to the Raiders. That's a huge difference. Plus, the Raiders ran for over 230 yards against a tough Jets defense, so that should give you all the confidence in our run defense.
  22. I agree. I didn't get what the coaches saw in Jones, but he had a very good game yesterday. Hopefully he continues to develop and becomes an additional playmaker on this offense.
  23. I hope this prick gets a multiple game suspension. How many times is he going to get away with his dirty tactics that have injured a few of our players.
