  1. They went from making the playoffs every year with Manning to finishing 2-14 and drafting Luck. Besides that, what the hell does Jamarcus Russell have to do with anything?
  2. Do we know which QB's will be available in the 2018 draft yet? I know it's a different sport, but the Sabres tanked to have a shot at two generational players, Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel, by which they took Jack Eichel. If that situation presents itself for the Bills say in the 2018 or 2019 draft, you mean to tell me it wouldn't be a smart move to tank the season before so the Bills can draft that guy, vice giving up multiple first round picks to get that QB?
  3. Ownership, management and coaches would all have to buy in to the idea. While it sucks to purposely lose for a season or two, it would reap long term success. We all have to accept the fact that the Bills will never win the division without a real franchise QB as long as Brady is the Patriots QB. While a lot of people on here hate the idea of losing on purpose, look at our draft status with finishing between 6-10 and 7-9 all these years. The Bills drafted mainly between 8 - 13, and those picks were used on RB's, CB's etc... To get an elite QB, you need to be able to draft in the Top 3. Look at the Panthers and how well they are doing now with Cam Newton, they're 13-0. Fans are kidding themselves to think that mediocre QB's can take them to the Superbowl, let alone the playoffs. After 16 years of missing the playoffs, I want to see the Bills not only go back to the playoffs, but win the Superbowl. If the Bills keep the status quo of looking for other teams castoffs or reaching for QB's in the draft (such as Losman and Manuel), then this playoff drought will continue. We need to see Taylor lead the team from behind and also not throw 40 yards down the field on 3rd and 2. I'm losing my faith in Wrecks Ryan and feel he's nothing more than a used car salesman.
  4. We already know Taylor is starting in 2016, so I doubt they will draft in the Top 10 in the 2017 draft. So if Taylor doesn't pan out next year, and if there is a QB of the caliber of Newton, Luck, P. Manning, etc.. in the 2018 draft, then the Bills should tank the 2017 season to be able to draft in the Top 5 to draft that QB. Otherwise, like Doug Whaley said, the Bills are in QB purgatory.
  5. While they suck this year, they were in the AFC Championship game last year. You mean to tell me you wouldn't love to see the Bills in that position (winning playoff games and having a shot at the Superbowl)? The same could have been said for the Bills last year and this year. The Bills need a great QB to topple the Patriots and the guys that have been playing QB for the Bills over the past 14 years have not been the answer, which is why Brady has a ridiculous win/loss record against us.
  6. Since you mentioned Andrew Luck, do you remember how the Colts got him? By tanking the season before, that's how. Thanks!
  7. The Raiders aren't in the playoffs and the Vikings look decent, but not world beaters.
  8. So, the Bills should just keep going after sub-par QB's which can only take the team between 6-10 and 9-7? Yeah, that's great logic. It hasn't worked for 16 years now, so it's suddenly going to work now? The only way the Bills are going to get a Top 10 QB is being able to draft high (most likely Top 3). So, either the Bills give up multiple first round picks to do it, tank so they don't have to give up those picks, or keep with the status quo and hope scrubs like Fitz, Losman, Edwards, Manuel, etc will lead us to the playoffs...
  9. I saw that post. The OP was discussing "tanking" for the rest of this season, while I was referring to "tanking" in the 2017 season or later if Taylor does not work out. As I said in my original post, the Bills will never be AFC East champs until they have a real franchise QB. If Taylor is not the franchise guy, then just keep adding more years to the Patriots dominance of the division.
  10. Before the Pegula's bought the Bills, the Bills averaged 6-10 over the past 14 years. Now, it appears the Bills will average 8-8 (assuming they win two out of their last three games) over the past two years. So, will it take another twelve years for the Bills to get to 10-6?
  11. It's already too late for 2016, plus Whaley already stated Taylor is going to be the starter in 2016, so if the Bills were to tank, that possibility wouldn't happen until the 2017 season. Quick question, what does "IN" mean?
  12. When the Pegula’s bought the Sabres back in 2011, they thought the Sabres would be able to win the Stanley Cup within three years, but that didn’t come to fruition as they realized they had did not have the right roster and management to win the cup, so they gutted the team, and purposely tanked for two years in order to get two great players in the draft which would change their franchise [Reinhart and Eichel]. Right now, the Bills appear to be in the same boat as the Sabres were in 2011, a team that has some talent, but is not good enough to win a championship. I know the Bills plan on giving Taylor another year to see if he can be the franchise QB that the Bills have been looking for since Kelly retired nearly twenty years ago, but what if we’ve seen the best of Taylor? We know that’s not good enough to win a Superbowl, let alone go to the playoffs. With finishing between 6-10 and 9-7 lately, that is not a good position to be in to draft a franchise QB. In order for the Bills to trade up in the top 5 (most likely top 3), they would have to give up multiple first round picks (Washington gave up three first round picks to the Rams for RGIII). Instead of giving up multiple first round picks which could set the franchise back for many years, would it be a better idea to tank for a season or two to get high draft picks in order to get their franchise QB? Yes, it would suck to have to extend the playoff drought even longer as 16 years without the playoffs has been brutal, but let’s face facts, the Bills will not dethrone the Patriots as the AFC East champs until they get a real franchise QB.
  13. Hahaha!!! Start EJ?! Thanks for the laugh! After he lost the Jaguars game, I never want to see EJ start another Bills game...ever!!!
  14. Fire Rex, Thurman and Crossman, promote Roman to HC and bring back Schwartz as the DC.
  15. "Well get ready, cause we're going..." Yeah right Rex!! 16 years in a row pal!!
  16. "Well get ready, we're going..." Yeah right!!! 16 years now and still no playoffs!!
  17. That was a great show last night about the Bills Superbowl teams. For the first Superbowl, I kind of figured the team was out partying most of the time the week of the Superbowl, but the show confirmed it and you could tell the guys regretted it. The second Superbowl, I only heard that Coach Dickerson from the Bills said some things about the Redskins that got them P.O.'d, but didn't know exactly what. Dickerson was a dumb azz and should of kept his mouth shut about "The Hogs." Also, I didn't know that someone from Harry Conick Jr group was the one who moved Thurman's helmet. That sucks that it happened because it looked like Thurman could have ran for a TD on the second play of the game as there was a huge gaping hole up the middle. I'll be honest, I took those times back then for granted, but I was just a teenager at the time during the Superbowl era. Looking back on it now, I wish I would have went to more games, especially the playoff games. I always thought after those four Superbowls that the Bills would have made it back already, but who would have known that we've be stuck in a 15 year playoff drought. I really hope the Bills win a Superbowl soon for the team itself, the city of Buffalo and all of the Bills fans everywhere and especially for the Bills of the 90's. I met Scott Norwood a couple of times and you could tell that he's a quiet, reserved guy, but he's a true class act. I was glad to see how the team and fans rallied behind Scott after the first Superbowl. I don't blame Scott for that Superbowl and no Bills fan in their right mind should blame him for it either.
  18. While Woods had a nice TD catch, he also tripped over himself in the endzone which could have been another TD. I don't get Woods as he seems to be out of place with his routes, the dropped passes, etc... I don't know if he's not running the routes correctly or is not in sync as he should be with Taylor, but he seems to be off the ball a lot this season as he's diving for balls that are nowhere near him or not even close to where Taylor is throwing at. He's been a great blocking WR, but so far he's proven that he is not a #2 WR. I know the guy is still young and hopefully he will improve, but for all the hype about the guy being NFL ready out of the draft, he's underwhelmed so far.

  20. I know teams always did that with Randy Moss as well.
  21. Okay, I wasn't sure if we were going to see Easley do a George Wilson conversion to Safety. Lol, who knows, do we have anyone left that can play LB?
  22. Was Easley on the field at the end because of the injuries to the secondary or did Rex/Thurman wanted him out there in case of a jump ball? I'm curious to see if Rex/Thurman will use Easley more in the secondary in the remaining games.
  23. It seems Wrecks does not have a coach in the booth to tell him to challenge a play as Wrecks was relying on the replay inside the stadium. That is absolutely pathetic and inexcusable!!! Not throwing to Sammy in the 2nd half is also absolutely pathetic and inexcusable!!! Roman needs to dial up some crossing routes, slants, screens etc to get more use out of Watkins instead of always doing the "go-route." Robert Woods, what a disappointment he's been. While he is a great blocker, he's no #2 WR. Woods constantly drops passes, seems to run the wrong routes and is always diving back for the ball and is not in sync with Taylor. The defense was a major letdown after MNF. I blame that on Wrecks & Thurman's game plan. I had a new sense of optimism for this team as the old guard is gone and new owners took over and invested a ton of money in the team with a lot of new players and coaches, but it's just the same old Bills. 16 years and counting, when will it end...
  24. Turn out the lights...the party is over!!!
