  1. That I didnt consider, maybe an additional structure of a per snap bonus. Accountabillity, one team, one dream? Team above the single ego? Shared risks, shared rewards? Meh, let them be out of work. That said I didnt consider the free agent part of it at all. That would lead to in game competition within the team. I know for a fact that the so called star players got paid more, that said im unsure. He wouldn't, winning QBs get paid more, reach the superbowl and there is another 400k (from cba). That aside the thinking that is behind it is that every result is a team effort, it's silly that one guy get's 100million and another 200k. A player holding out like Byrd is hurting his team and with that their pay (ability to reach incentives), in a situation like this there wouldnt be any discussion. Bottomline is teams that have something extra going often make it all the way, see the Ravens (Lewis) and Steelers (the bus), if they need to fight for their pay grades dont you think they'll start putting in extra work in the offseason, train a bit longer during season, study a bit harder, stay away from the clubs, do everything for the win, their position and the team? Maybe it boils down to me thinking these guys werent putting in enough effort and dedication to be a winner. Ow well it was just a crazy thought that I threw out there, players would never agree to it most likely purely because they value their own wallet over their teammates wallets.
  2. What if the players decided to split the cap and disregard their contracts? 135 million cap, divided by 53 split in 4 categories; Starter: 3x share Backup: 2x share Inactive: 0.5x share Practice squad: league minimum 10% reserved for injuries, left overs get distributed to base salaries at end of season. 30% of the cap reserved for win bonusses. Wouldnt that create a huge sense of accountabillity, drive to win, drive to win starter spots and become better? I mean the big name players earn enough outside of their contracts anyway?
  3. NIce, but that thing doesnt monitor heart rate, they should add in heart rate monitoring and trainingload as well.
  4. Thx, I went the google route myself but couldnt find anything related to his agent so i guess i just suck at google...
  5. Is Parker the agent for Anderson by any chance?
  6. Sooooo he went to Rodgers to ask what it's like to sit for a few years?
  7. You know what, I think that RT is great news. It means he wants to a Bill. Also the "been a minute tweet" could well mean they finally settled on the contract, prolly working out the finer details.
  8. Great piece, thanks for pointing it out! From those stats one would say that defense and special teams was the issue for the Bills these past 4 years. The reality isnt far off, take out the Jauron\Fewell year and the numbers are worse, Gailey failed big time on special teams and defense production. Funny thing is that during the Jauron years it was the exact opposite (lousy offense, great special teams, good to reasonable defense).
  9. If all goes well, we'll have a rookie year. Some great wins, some steals coupled with some stupid losses.
  10. Blitzing the Pats* hardcore only works if you have the LB corps to protect against the dump off. Brady excels in this area.
  11. Kyle Williams CJ Spiller Stephon Gillmore Fred Jackson Mario Williams
  12. No, a winning Bills team would make selling out the late season games far less of an issue.
  13. Hands down Byrd, while being a good safety he certainly hasnt shown the elite or best defender stuff that people claim.
  14. In all fairness this has been going on for years. It's never the Pats* that are on the short end of the stick. Bottomline is the NFL needs to make a set of rules, then have a computer make the schedule. 1. A team coming off a bye always plays another team that is coming off a bye. 2. Teams having changed timezones play each other. 3. Teams that have played a thursday night game will have to travel timezone next game. 4. Teams coming off a monday night game will play next game at home. There, should be workable.
  15. Dude is missing speed, big time! Also glad we got rid of Fitz that throw was almost a slomo, catch was only made because no defenders where anywhere to be seen! Can't believe the props Rich had for that play...
  16. Gibran Hamdan! Ow wait currently, hmmm, im going to say Troup. For the opposite, most overrated player, I'm temped to say Byrd.
  17. Great post, but with regards to Brady they did win the lottery, they didnt know he would pan out the way he did, else they would have taken him in the first round. So they bought a lottery ticket and landed the super jackpot. What's the chance you'll get a HOF QB at that spot? One in a thousand? What the Colts did was cheating within the rules imho.
  18. Doubt it. But hear this, the Netherlands are the best korfball nation in the world, there is no competition except for some light resistance from Belgium. Does that make our National champion the world champion by default? No it doesnt. Awfull game though btw lol. It is just silly to name yourselves World Champion where as it is a national championship. There really isnt a reason to do it either other then sheer arrogance. Anyway my opinion on the matter. Another example is Kaatsen, which is even a small sport over here, but again the Dutch are by far the best at it. Yet instead of proclaiming themselves World Champions they organize a World Championship every 4 years.
  19. Let's invent a game, hold a national championship and then declare yourselves world champion! Hoorah!
  20. I live in Haarlem which is just 20km outside of Amsterdam, the Amsterdam Admirals was being followed pretty intense through out the greater Amsterdam region. Then again I was (maybe still am) a die-hard, so people always came up to me and asked how we'd done etc. Dusseldorf, Germany, that whole town turned burgundy on gameday, even has a street named after Rhein Fire after they won the World Bowl. Barcelona, no one cared. Berlin was coming along slowly, Hamburg was starting to get big and Frankfurt always was big. I dont have a perspective on Scotland. With regards to London, that was completly mismanaged and destroyed by their front office. With regards to amateur tackle, I dont really know about other countries, in the Netherlands the number of people playing tackle trippled as a result of the NFL stimulance however that still meant a very low number of only 10000 amateur players.
  21. You need to guess? Between your inability to differentiate between NFL Europe and a NFL game being played in London, your lack of ability to edit a topic title and your lack of ability to read my signature, I know for sure that I'm done with you and this topic.
  22. No Goodell has said it only applies to teams that aren't allready playing abroad (Bills) and that teams loose a max of 1 home game.
