Yeah it was Kroft, the TE who came down with it on his back and as he lay on the ground the DB wrestled it away...I was like WTF? That was the game the Bills built a huge lead only to see the Rams roar back and either tie or take the lead late until a Josh Allen TD pass (I believe to Kroft who caught it on a diving fade in the corner of the left EZ, getting his revenge) won it late.

Including playoffs...those are regular season only Allen also broke the NFL record of most TDs against a single opponent in their first 15 games. Coming into the game he was tied with Marino (vs Jets) with 42 TDs. Ended the game with 45. He also accomplished this in likely well under 14 games when talking about "actual" minutes of game time since he sat for the second half in end of the year blowout against the Fins 56-26 one year, and has been on the sidelines for many end of the 4th quarters as well.

I mean it looked great against the Jets when they held them to 0-11+ for only the 2nd time in NFL history(the other time was the Bills against the Jets a few years ago), but yeah, the other games not so much. Irritating because just like last year, they get them backed up in 3rd and long regularly but teams seem to move the ball much easier in those situations than in 1st and 2nd down situations. Just like Allen where no 3rd down is too long to convert, same concept against our D. 3rd and 20? I still expect the other team to convert somehow.

Do The Bills Have A Passing Game Problem?

From "hanging"? The Bills had a 64% of winning the game with 13:45 left in the 4th. Are you trying to re-imagine a game that did not happen? That decidedly does not sound like they couldn't "hang" with them, and were tied at 29 with 3.5 minutes to go in the 4th. As always, the defense that plays one way against KC in the regular season but completely differently in the playoffs rears it's ugly head. Of course, the only time KC scored more than 30 points all year was against the Bills in the playoffs. -
My biggest gripe with White is not that he couldn't cover Waddle on a short crosser across the formation, while avoiding a rub, very few DBs can even in their prime. It's that he came in as a free rusher on 3rd and 12, had Tua dead to rights and did not play under control to ensure he made the play, allowing Tua to easily avoid him, roll out left and hit Hill for a big 3rd down conversion. I'd expect that from a rookie, not from a pro's pro like White. That was inexcusable.

It's crazy people don't understand that week to week results mean nothing, it's how many wins you have by the end of the season and that you are playing your best football going into the playoffs. That's the only thing that matters. Not the scores or what the games looked like, or Allen not throwing downfield, or defense not getting off the field on 3rd downs this game, etc... IT DOESN'T MATTER. It's a week to week league and very little of what you do one week carries over into the next game when you are playing a different opponent with different players, a different scheme and that has different strengths and weaknesses. All that matters is stacking up "W"'s and the Bills do that better than any team in pro sports over the last 5 years save for the KC Chiefs.

Do The Bills Have A Passing Game Problem?

It's not irrelevant because Allen still can do all the other things from the different seasons, he just doesn't by default any more. Sure if we want to cherry pick various situations sometimes things happen...the other team is a group of professionals as well. "Stopped" on 4th downs was more thanks to the refs suddenly being unable to spot the ball properly for the entire game with the Bills on offense. It was so obvious and egregious to even casual fans and caused such a firestorm that the NFL had to put chips in the ball to ensure spots were accurate. Would have been 13 if not for a missed chip shot by Prater that was shanked about as badly as possible on a kick. -

There is always a switch to flip and that's Josh Allen doing Josh Allen things. If there "was no switch to flip" then teams would have figured out how to prevent us from averaging 30 points a game over the last 5 years (#1 in the NFL). That's a pretty huge sample size. You simply cannot take away everything with Allen playing QB. It's not possible. If the Bills lose to the Chiefs it will be their defense as always that can't play anything close to the way they play the Chiefs in the regular season that costs us the game, because the offense plays as well or not better against them than they do in the regular season. You can't average allowing 20 points a game to a team in the regular season over 5 years and then allow 33+ points to them in the playoffs over the same time span. that doesn't even make sense how that happens. -
Tua's average air yards/completion into mid 3rd quarter was -0.5 yards! Literally his average pass completion was behind the LOS. That's absurd...dude completed 22 passes for 146 yards and the Fins had 276 yards total. That's not a bad showing by the D at all, and for the most part outside a couple of runs, plugged the run lanes very well. Fins were in 3rd and long most of the night and the biggest issue was the Bills not being able to take advantage of those enough and get them off the field.

Then they adapt, like they usually do. But no need to go 100 mph when you are only traveling 5 minutes away. Not understanding the season is a grind and you need to pace yourself early to ensure you are playing at your best and peaking late seems to be what a lot of people don't understand. It doesn't matter what they look like "NOW". Just win, get the 1 seed and the bye. It only matters what they look like in the playoffs and that they are peaking at the right time. Kansas City has made a living for 3 years of looking terrible in the regular season but still winning only to flip a switch in the playoffs and keep going to Super Bowls. Bills score 30 points a game by rolling out of bed pretty much now. -
I watched some random post-game content last night and this morning and 3 separate people in 3 separate ways have said "I've watched football my whole life/50 years/35+ years, etc and I have never seen a better QB than Josh Allen". Just matter of fact, like they have finally just accepted who he is, a unicorn that can do anything he wants at any time he wants to do it. But now he is realizing when to pick and choose his spots to do it and allow "Clark Kent" to be on the field more than Superman, saving that for when he really needs it. The change it has caused in his game is remarkable...fully in control...diagnoses things at the line and changes plays and protections where need be...takes what the D is giving him and usually puts us in easy conversion situations(2nd and under 5, 3rd and under 2, etc)...just like a person who was the best violinist in the world who has now also become one of the best conductors in the world... It's really impressive and he is doing it with what many would call "middling" skill position players outside Cook. Bills have not lost the TO Battle in 25 games and counting, an NFL record. No position player has a TO since James Cook in 2023 against the Chiefs in week 15, 22 game and counting, what also must be an NFL record. When the Bills don't turn the ball over they are almost impossible to beat.

I still think they believe "we have Josh Allen and that's enough". -

Just think the Bills feel they don't need to put things on film against these middling teams like Dolphins and Jets yet and that they can "get by" with basic stuff. -

I think the question should be do the Fins have a passing game problem after the graphic into the 3rd quarter where the average air yards per completion was -0.5 yards meaning the average pass completed was behind the LOS. Yikes, WTF was that? -
I was wondering why the Bills kept fielding the ball 2 yards deep in the endzone and running it out instead of taking a knee. The chances of you getting a penalty or being tackled before the 35 are much higher than you getting out past the 35.

That was a championship level play by Bernard

I am most looking forward to Hoecht used as the versatile chess piece that will give offenses fits. -
saw him a few times...made a few nice plays in the run game

They don't need to be in week 3. The goal is to peak at the right time.

Personally I just don't think the Bills feel they need to do a lot to beat 2 of the teams they just played in division so they haven't shown much. -
It was just a lot of easy missed plays...like Tre having a free run at Tua on 3rd and 12 for what should have been an easy sack and coming in too out of control so Tua easily spun away and completed it to Hill after rolling out. Still think it's more of the newer players needing time to gel together which is causing a lot of this...hoping by midseason they are at least average Also have 2 major FA signings in Hoecht and Ogunjobi who are out a few more weeks...Hoecht is especially important because he was being planned to use all over the D as a chess piece almost because of his versatility.
