BeastMode54 replied to GripnRip's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. Runyan, even in his old age, would be an uprade over ANYONE on our line -
Langston Walker released/Kirk Chambers re-signed

I'm an optimist to a fault. But this team is a bigger mess than the Mets and the knicks, and that's saying a lot. Maybe worse than the Pirates too. We are a joke. What are these moves? Do they think this will make us a better football tea. You have to be f-cking kidding me!!!! I almost want to sell my tickets to the home opener. -
terrible throw, worse try at a catch. he was wide open
-
You have to be kidding me. 12 pass plays and 8 run plays! I had more plays than that on my high school team

Ive been a Bills fan for years and years now. The current state of the team is a joke. Firing the OC a week before the season, releasing veterans like Rhodes and Chambers? I have always been the optomist, but I can't take it anymore. We are going to have a tough year this year. Why Jauron wasnt fired after last year is a mysery to me. If what Turk says is true about DJ wanting a less complicated system is true, I don't think I'll be able to watch the games with any hope at all

Bills lead the league in completion %

The Bills also rank 4th in AFC defense and 6th in the NFL in defense allowed for pre-season. Maybe we won't be so bad this year. Defense looks pretty good, offense looks bad. Can't put too much stock in either really I guess. Let's just wait for New England and reserve judgement when the regular season comes -
Well this certainly changes things

wow, you must have posted that while I was writing up mine. wondering the same exact thing. don't know whats better -

I think the best line we could put out there has Walker at RT and Butler at RG. Problem is, does this shifting around cause more problems, or because this is where they previously played it wouldn't be a problem at all? Also, this would mean moving a rookie, Wood, to LG where he hasn't played at all. Might just be too much shuffling around -

I think this is definitely the best line we could put out there -
I 100% agree with you. I'm sick of this group acting like a bunch of nancies and accepting failure

The Bills could have cut Kelsay and Schoebel

I was just about to post the same thing. I don't understand the Schobel hatred at all. He's easily been out best defender over the past 5 years, barring injury. -
Physical, Violent, Snotknocker team...

This is what Tim Graham recently had to say Terrell Owens Toe Injury is Cause for Concern A bum toe ended Hall of Fame intimidator Jack Lambert's career at 32. He had been named All-Pro five straight seasons when he got hurt. Toe injuries also have shelved such stars as Deion Sanders, Eddie George, Antonio Gates and LaDainian Tomlinson. Owens aggravated his toe during the Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 9 and hasn't taken part in a full practice since. He lightly worked out for about 20 minutes Monday but informed the team it was uncomfortable to stand. "He runs a lot," Bills offensive coordinator Turk Schonert said Thursday. "He has to make cuts on that thing, sharp cuts. "For a lineman, working in short space, it's not going to be as much of a problem. But a receiver or a running back, you've got to make jump cuts and sharp cuts. It's a huge injury." Owens has been hampered by toe problems in the past. Source: Tim Graham – ESPN.com

I am not very confident that we will be all that good. I do have hope though. I'll try to give you some of my reasons for optimism. Eric Wood has looked very good on the line, and Steve Tasker also noted that Hangartner played very well against the 3-4 last week, which is very important for us. Brad Butler played all of college opposite D'Brickshaw Ferguson at UVA and played very well. He just needs to get better re acquainted with the position. Levitre worries me as his technique needs a lot of work. Walker played admirably last year in place of Peters at LT. He has trouble with speed rushers and may kill us with holding penalties, but I hope he can be ok. I think the pass protection will be ok, the run blocking really worries me. However, with T.O. back in the fold, there will be a lot more opportunities for the other wideouts and backs to make plays. Trent is just the QB we need for this offense, although I think the pace needs to increase somewhat. If we do well with the passing game, then the defense can't pack the box (that's what she said). The defense was pretty solid last year. I LOVE our corners, Whitner, Scott and Byrd at Safeties is a strong group. Poz is good, Mitchell is decent, Ellison is GOD AWFUL. Nic Haris, however, should supplant him at some point because he's a beast. Our DE's are GARBAGE. Schobel looks old. I hope we cut either Kelsay or Denney. However, Ellis has shown a lot of progress and could be a good DE with us. Maybin, while maybe only a situational pass rush and rush LB, will be an upgrade over our horrid DE's. Our starters have gotten outscored a lot this offseason, but our 2nd and 3rd string, while I know they are playing against other second and 3rd stringers, is 41-9 against the other teams, meaning we DO have depth, and some postitons in 2nd string SHOULD make the bump up to start. It's difficult to gauge this year, but I have hope. Let's go BILLS!!!!

I'm trying to find a link to where I remember reading that info about the 3-4. Does anyone else remember reading that? -

The Bills were said to be planning on usng a little bit of the 3-4 defense this year in order to utilize Maybins talents. -
T.O. to miss 2nd straight preseason game
BeastMode54 replied to smuvtalker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm trying to stay positive but I'm getting worried. If it's turf toe he may be out for a while, not play effectively, or need surgery -
Can you give us some info from the article?

I just can't believe they are "far apart". Really? This shouldn't be hard. What is his agent doing? Also, if he wanted to be here by now, he would just accept less than his agent wants. I'm changing my tune on the whole situation. I'm starting to hate the guy
