  1. Anyone know the price of corn in Tampa?
  2. Chargers by a field goal. Hard to stay "up" after two emotional wins.
  3. He had a bunch of TFLs, but not many sacks.
  4. Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 14m 12 players had 2.5 or more sacks this preseason. 10 are on 53-man rosters. One on practice squad. And last, Michael Sam, hasn't found work.
  5. The questions is: if he was just another player whom we knew nothing much about, would the reigning SEC defensive player of the year (who had 3 preseason sacks) not be on someone's practice squad? I suspect that "coming out" may have cost this kid a shot at the NFL.
  6. My favorite SNL fake ad of all-time! Without context it isn't as funny. The ad was a take-off on the Stroh's commercials that were playing at the time. Same basic setup but in the Stroh's ad, the pool fills with ice and beer.
  7. I have a strong suspicion the Central Terminal location is still in play for transportation reasons. Easy access via rail and the rapid transit could be extended to that site fairly easily. Just a hunch. Edit: I also think this idea has a lot of merit, especially if Pegula end up wit the team: http://www.wgr550.com/Artvoice-s-stadium-plan/19620066
  8. Holding called on every !@#$ing play. Holding called on every !@#$ing play.
  9. Ron Brooks is really good.
  10. Is there a flag on every play? This is ridiculous.
  11. Yep, EJ is !@#$ing atrocious. It's gonna be another long, alcohol-filled year in Bills country!
  12. I'm rooting for Jim like everyone else. But this form of cancer when it spreads to the sinus cavity is extremely difficult to treat. And, the obvious fear is that it spreads into the brain. Jim in luckier than most in that he can afford the very best care available. So, that will certainly help him in this battle. Kelly strong.
  13. This. Every stadium has its drunks. But, ours seem to be the sloppiest.
  14. Unless Johnny Football tightens up his decision making (e.g. back foot throws into traffic), I think he'll be a turnover machine as a pro.
  15. Pretty accurate article IMHO. He's saying that yes, we're the drunkest, but...
  16. ...he'll send racist texts to Henderson and Kouandjio.
  17. Found this thread at an opportune time. I'm rewatching the game on DVR and rewinding after plays to see which guys are making plays and which aren't. And, I was just noticing how terrible Legursky was in the first half. Guy was getting owned on the majority of plays against Carolina backups. Maybe Carolina has a ton of depth on the d-line, but Legursky sure looked bad. I sure hope Wood can stay healthy this year.
  18. I'm going to assume Cyrus is still hurt and would perhaps benefit from a year on the IR. From down here in SEC country, he was pretty bad his last year at Alabama. He got worked by more than a few average college d-ends (e.g. Gayle from Virginia Tech owned Kouandjio). I'm still skeptical as to whether Cyrus is really 100%... or even 80%... healthy.
  19. Nothing worse (on any fan message board) than the pure douchebaggery of a post that contains the phrase "you do realize."
  20. Ugh. A petition on change.org for a team that doesn't even have an owner yet? Make this nonsense stop.
  21. As best as I can tell, IRC501c6 was amended at the time of the AFL-NFL merger (1966) to include "professional football leagues" due to concerns about the merger being challenged under the Clayton Anti-trust Act (or the Federal Trade Commissions Act). No other league has this status. And, IMHO, it is pretty shady by today's political standards. I'd have to think some congressman trying to make a name for himself would write a bill to challenge this exemption if a team moves to Canada (although they might well do so even if that doesn't happen). ...and if we moved to Canada we'd have to start drafting guys with names like Gord and Stu!
  22. I don't think Toronto/Hamilton are viable options. The league would risk losing its tax exempt status if they go international. The NFL league office is currently structured as a not-for-profit organization, exempt from taxation under Section 501c(6) of the Internal Revenue Code. Moving a team to Canada would almost certainly result in a congressional inquiry of the tax exempt status. Not worth the risk.
