  1. Totally agree...Would not touch Landry Jones with a ten foot pole...Something is missing from that kid...I don't think he's got the fire... On the other hand I like Nassib a lot...Just seems to be more of a gamer and did continue to improve...
  2. IMHO...No matter what Offense Marrone wants to run, there will be a QB better suited than Barkley for said Offense...I'm not a big Barkley fan...But I do think he's a tough kid and a decent leader...To me at least, Barkley will end up having a similar career to Fitz...Just with a lot more hype...
  3. I just preferred to go with Caldwell because, for me at least, it would have meant a complete and total new start...I t would have meant Buddy was definitely out...And lastly it would have left no doubt in my mind about Brandon...When Brandon talks about Buddy I second guess the fact that I think he's a real smart, bright guy...
  4. You're not serious are you?
  5. That's what the Bills say anyway...Brandon also says Buddy is the best evaluator of talent he knows...So... Look, I hope Whaley does great...But I'm not going to give the seal of approval to anyone in that Scouting Department after watching Wilson and Kaepernick...They all suck as far as I'm concerned until they prove otherwise...It may just be me...But I'm not falling into the incestuous love-fest going on concerning our Scouting Department...I don't care how Whaley is viewed, or how they say he is viewed...He was there while they Drafted Aaron Williams and TJ Graham while letting Kaepernick, and Wilson, slip through their fingers...Whaley was right there...Not saying it was his decision...But he was there... I'm not saying I don't like the idea of Whaley, because in a way I do...I'm just saying I don't trust anyone in that Department until they prove they can do it...No more blind faith here any longer... So...I think they should have brought Caldwell in anyway...I hope Doug proves me very wrong...
  6. Agreed...Though I doubt very much, no matter what the Bills say, that Whaley is getting all that much attention elsewhere...And that's just my opinion...Nothing more...It may be unfair, but I think Whaley's got Buddy's stink all over him...I just hope he learned what he needed to...And I hope young Doug proves to be well beyond Buddy, capability-wise, when he steps out of the good ol' scouts shadow...
  7. That is the understatement of the day IMHO...
  8. I don't know... David Caldwell just got hired by the Jags to be their new GM, and he turned down the Jets GM job...He's a big-time up and coming FO personnel guy who worked under Polian and Demitroff...He's a Buffalo native who made it pretty clear through VERY public channels (Don Banks at SI) that he would welcome the opportunity to come to Buffalo as the new GM...I'm 100% certain Brandon knew this...100% certain because Brandon is tapped in...He has serious connections, I'm sure agents among them...Brandon must have known Caldwell would come if he cleared the way...And Brandon passed in order to keep the good ol' scout... Brandon then went on to praise the good ol' scout saying he was basically the best in the business despite MASSIVE evidence to the contrary...I mean...I'm not saying every GM is going to get every pick right...But if you truly are the best evaluator of talent, there is NO WAY you pick Aaron Williams over Kaepernick, or TJ Graham over Wilson...No way...Buddy is no where near as good as Brandon said he was publicly...No where close... This is just my opinion...I have no proof obviously...But I think Brandon made a deal with Ralph to keep Buddy around and give him a decent burial...I think it was Ralph's last request so-to-speak...I don't believe for a second that a guy as sharp as Brandon is truly believes all the garbage he spewed about how great Buddy is...I'm sure he respects Buddy...But no one as smart as Brandon is going to be completely fooled by Buddy's less than stellar record, and the fact that he put this team behind literally years by not properly addressing the QB position... I am VERY concerned about this GM deal...It's not just that Buddy might stay through the Draft and turn it over to Whaley...I'm concerned that we blew a golden opportunity with Caldwell...We'll see how this all plays out...But I don't want Buddy to have anything to do with any Draft selection on this team ever again...And I definitely do not want him making the call on our next QB...I have zero faith in Buddy...Zero, notta, nothing, zilch...
  9. Got something against bald white guys? I represent the Lilly-white follically challenged...Needless to say I am thrilled with the recent Bills hires!!! So there...
  10. With hot sauce? Sorry, I spent 20 years in Charlotte NC and I just can't seem to shake it...
  11. No question Wilson was a once-in-a-decade-type situation...But it's not like most NFL Teams did not know about him, including The Bills of course... Wilson started, and starred for 4 years...What he did in a one-year situation at Wisconsin was impressive to say the least...His intangibles were literally off-the-charts...He has huge hands for a kid his size...He's a very good athlete with a live arm...He's was a VERY special case study for NFL Scouts...But that's what they are paid to get right...He was also a pretty hyped prospect....Wilson was all over NFL Network leading up to the Draft...The Bills had him in for a visit...I'm sure they studied the heck out of him... I definitely understand how a team would be real cautious about using a a 1st Round pick on a 5-11 QB...But once it gets past the first two Rounds...I don't understand the hesitation...I read once that about 12.5% of 3rd Round Picks start for 3 seasons or more...About 6.5% start for 5 seasons or more...So what was the risk at that point for Wilson? Plus he's a QB!!! If NFL teams with QB needs (even QB depth needs), again including The Bills, were simply passing on Wilson because a kid his size is basically written off...Or worse yet too hard to project...Well...I just don't know what to say about it...It makes no sense to me at all...
  12. Buddy is a WHOLE different story...I'll pack his bags and drive him down-south myself if they'll get rid of that bum for good...
  13. It's not a Kool Aid wave...No need for drama here...They (these Coaches) have done nothing in Buffalo yet...You'll be hard pressed to find someone more negative on this Organization than I've been over the past decade...But I do like the direction I'm seeing if for nothing more than the fact that it's a different approach...Not saying it's right or wrong yet...There is zero evidence one way or the other...
  14. They were already employed...I don't think a single Coach has been taken off the street yet...The Jets wanted Pettine back...This ST's Coach is under Contract with Detroit...I'm not sure what your point is...
  15. When Kickers start getting nicknames (Legatron), you know something is up big-time...
  16. It does seem to me that there are some awfully good young Kickers flowing into the NFL all of a sudden...The young talent there seems to be skyrocketing...
  17. I agree with this...I think it was the same with Pettine...These Coaches actually WANT to come to work with Marrone...It's kind of cool!!!
  18. How about Aaron Wilson over Dalton, and Kaepernick? Is that enough when partnered with Graham over Wilson? Come on...I'm looking to roast Buddy here... Seriously though, after watching Wilson and Kaepernick this weekend it made me pretty ill towards Nix...Again...I just don't like the guy as a GM...Whatsoever... /endrant
  19. I think I heard Mike Schopp say that since Football Outsiders has been doing their statistical analysis of QB's coming into the NFL, Wilson had the highest grade they ever gave out...Something like that...The kid was very, very good in College... Extremely impressive...
  20. Well...Understood...But you can turn that point around by simply saying it was only a 3rd Round Pick...We Drafted TJ Graham instead of Russell Wilson...We did so even though our GM claims his height was not a deterrent whatsoever for The Bills...Furthermore, Buddy said they really liked Wilson a lot, enough to have him come to Buffalo prior to the Draft...He just valued the need for Graham more...That's right, he admitted it, Nix thought TJ Graham was a bigger need than Russell Wilson for The Bills...And this guy is supposedly one of the best talent evaluators in the NFL? Right... No matter how you spin it, the excuses come up lame concerning Wilson and the Bills...They blew it...Sure a lot of other teams blew it too...But the Bills are all I give a crap about...If Wilson had been a 1st Round Pick I could understand the excuses...But he wasn't...And Buddy is clearly an old school scout who is in WAY over his head as a GM...He has little understanding of how to build a roster...And he was blinded by Fitz's few good games, and Gailey's love for his Harvard QB...
  21. Flacco, Umenyora, and Bowe are certainly not going to be looking to sign a contract that anyone would consider a value...That I can pretty much assure...
  22. This is something I'll never understand either...And The Bills are definitely not the only team that suffered, is suffering, or will suffer from this mistake. I was just having this conversation with my friend who is a Cowboys fan yesterday...It makes no sense not to use that 3rd QB spot for developing a young guy every year...It can pay off huge...And if it does not pay off, what can it hurt? Try again...
  23. He measured 5-10 5/8 at the Combine...
  24. I just keep thinking about that WGR interview earlier this year...I think it was right before the Seattle Game...But anyway...Buddy Nix basically said they liked Wilson a lot, and that his height was not an issue...Not an issue for the Bills that is...Knowing this, and granted knowing what we have seen from Wilson, if you liked the kid and had no problem with the height issue?...TJ Graham? Really? T...J...Graham?...It was the 3rd Round...Are you kidding me?... Agreed...100%...
