Good grief this Bass kid is a choke artist...

No offense meant...But as an amateur scout for 30 plus years (most of them right here on TSW) I can promise you there were plenty of people standing on their soapbox's declaring DK Metcalf a can't miss prospect. And I was one of them... Basically the entire group over at The Draft Network was as well...I had plenty of DM conversations with Joe Marino about Metcalf leading up to that Draft...No one that I trust (and I don't trust many)...had him anything less that the #1 WR prospect in that Draft, and at the very least a top 15 overall prospect. Admittedly, some who loved DK (like Joe) disagreed with me and had Oliver as a better prospect overall... The fact that NFL GMs passed on him means nothing to me. It's only further proof that there are a lot of Front Offices out there that are clueless, or that suffer from paralysis from over-analysis. Plus there are the teams with little to no WR need at the time. Keep in mind we are talking about a kid with VERY high character and work ethic. That was never questioned. He had some injuries but they could be easily explained. He was in amazing shape at the combine. A kid with athletic ability that was off the charts. And everyone gets caught up on 3 cone drills? Give me a break...Put in the tape and watch it! He was a dynamic athlete on the field with the ability to to get off the line using awesome hand technique, and he got to top speed fast. Not everyone is going to run routes like Diggs. And EVERY WR has to deal with the NFL learning curve. But only a very small handful of WR prospects come with the physical package Metcalf wakes up with every day. To me he was about as can't miss as they come. I'm certainly no expert. I'm not an NFL GM, and I'm not perfect. However, somehow I knew Pat Mahomes was the #1 Prospect in the 2017 Draft. Somehow I knew Josh Rosen would be a bust. Somehow I knew that Chris Jones would be a dominate NFL D-Lineman and a better NFL player than Shaq Lawson. And somehow I knew that if given the chance I would have taken DK Metcalf over Ed Oliver 100 out of 100 times...And it's really nothing against Ed...It's just how can't-miss I felt Metcalf was.😎

Agreed... And I know hindsight is always 20/20...But it's what we do...And it's pretty clear now IMHO... Like Star or not he was brought in and given a boat load of money for a VERY specific reason. And while he certainly was not perfect, he did anchor one of the better Defenses in the league. And once he opted out that should have sent up some major red flags in this front office...They quite literally had no one that could stand up at the 0 or 1 and that is a BIG, big problem...Not saying there were any magic answers...But standing pat was definitely not the move either.😎

It would certainly be an improvement...I don't question that at all.. But it would not be necessary if they had properly addressed the nose when Star opted out IMHO...Now it seems obvious that QW would be worth giving up a 2nd Rd Pick...And I do think he's worth that...But that's due in great part to the situation we find the D-Line in because they over-valued Butler, and Harrison Phillips ability to come back 100%...IMHO at least...😎

This is the correct take... And thinking Butler, a blown up 5-tech, could be the answer even as a back-up at 1 or 0 was a big stretch...😎

Brutal news... Just bad all around...Huge need...Wasted cap space getting no real production on the D-Line outside of Addison, and that's standing in the way of making a move that cost next to nothing pick-wise. He goes to a team that the Bills are trying to beat to get to the SB and the Ravens already have a FAR better Defense... Just bad...😎

Agreed... It was not so much about the gameplan as it was the Bills D-Line just getting destroyed at the line of scrimmage...They have no one that can hold up in there...Then when they did get them into decent 3rd Down situations they did basically nothing...No pressure, and allowed Mahomes to escape easily...Same thing Tannehill did to them last game...And the Chiefs Offensive gameplan was similar to what the Pats have done to us when we sold out to defend Brady in the past...The main difference being Mahomes scrambling... It's really ugly on that side of the ball right now...I see some folks getting excited about an undersized Practice Squad guy making a couple plays and all I can think is how did we get here? That kid should not be on the field because we went out and spent money on the D-Line, drafted Oliver, etc...Vernon Butler was supposed to be the anchor in there with Star out, but he's a blown up 3-4 DE...It's sad really...And McDermott has his work cut out for him with this bunch...There's no physicality at all...Honestly they look like they are on roller-skates out there half the time...😎

It's a tough kick...No doubt...But why does it seem that our opponents always hit those against us? And good grief he missed that thing by a mile...

The crazy thing is we were an inch away from being right back in it late on that strip fumble...

The 3rd Down Defense has been especially soft this year... Just brutal...

Yep...Not being able to pick up a yard on 2 consecutive plays because you're playing it safe against a team that is a juggernaut on Offense is not a winning look...

We are no where close to being good enough right now... Unfortunate as it is...There is a TON going wrong on both sides of the ball...Just sloppy crap and kinda soft...I don't get the feeling this team is imposing any kind of physical will at all...And the Chiefs are not a super-physical team...Still...It looks like they are beating the Bills up in this game... This team likes to point out how resilient they are...Well...

The Bills seriously look like they are moving in slow motion at times...
