Sammy Watkins did not practice due to sore foot
MDH replied to 16-0's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No doubt. But at the same time, in this instance, he's right. If Watkin's foot is sore I wouldn't expect him to go full speed in practice all week and unless it somehow gets better, the rest of the season. -
Don't look now....Bills are now a "Top 10 Defense"
MDH replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, and I don't disagree with any of the points you've made, other than misrepresenting what I said. The post you quoted was me making a specific point about turnovers, nothing else. -

As you said upstream to somebody else, did you read the post I was replying to? -
Don't look now....Bills are now a "Top 10 Defense"
MDH replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's not quite true. I responded to a post which essentially said that the Bills weren't pulling their weight in terms of the turnover ratio. I simply said that they've actually been doing a better than average job of it but that luck played a roll in them not having as many recovered fumbles as the numbers say they should. I said nothing, and implied nothing, about all the breaks they have or haven't gotten in regards to anything else. -
Sammy Watkins did not practice due to sore foot
MDH replied to 16-0's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Think I'll wait till he misses another game before I pull my hair out in frustration. As someone said upstream, after sitting for 2 months I'd imagine he'd experience soreness. The question is whether it's just that or if it means he's going to require a 2nd surgery. We're talking about practice here...practice. -
Rams Ban Eric Dickerson from Games for Criticism of Team
MDH replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did you ever see the Jets ban Namath? No, they ignored him and realized his was an important part of franchise history and beloved by the community. Fisher loves to blame the messenger. And had he simply ignored the stuff Dickerson was saying it wouldn't have blown up the way it did. Who do you think the fans support in this, a coach who hasn't won in forever or a beloved HoF player from the past who is just saying what the fans have been? -
Since when does it matter where they are ranked after 11 games? That fact doesn't matter right now either. It only matters after week 17.

Don't look now....Bills are now a "Top 10 Defense"
MDH replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's interesting to me how luck factors into our perceptions. The Bills D has caused 20 fumbles, but only recovered 6 of them. Compare that to KC who has caused 21 fumbles but recovered 11 of them. The Bills D is tied for 2nd in fumbles caused but ranked 15th in fumbles recovered. There's not much a D can do but keep flying hard to the ball and hoping the ball bounces their way. -
Yeah, that was my thought as well. So many teams better than Denver this season but they're coasting on their reputation from last year. Unfortunately for them, their D isn't nearly as good as it was last year.

Bills Awarded WR Justin Hunter from Waivers
MDH replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What has hunter ever done to move Woods to 3? That's just crazy. Hunter hasn't done enough to make me think he's a legit #3, much less a #2. He made a great play but let's not kid ourselves. -
I'm hoping that Gillislee can return this week. They could really use him.
-
To top it off they're also one of the worst in the league at stopping the run. They allow 4.6 ypa, which is just dreadful.

Yeah, that was brutal. Henderson isn't the most technical fighter but the guy has tons of heart and a never give up attitude that I really like. The UFC is just idiotic. Not that they made Conor give up the belt that he had never defend despite stepping into the cage 3 times since winning the title. That was justified (and somewhat surprising that they stripped him.) But what isn't justified is that in their need to "save a card" they're having Halloway and Pettis fight for yet another interim belt. Two interim titles will have been created when there was nothing wrong with the champ or the previous interim title holder. They just create these belts out of thin air whenever they think a card needs a title fight and it gets a little old. These belts end up having no meaning and that should never be the case. Halloway v. Pettis is a great fight, to be sure, but it should be nothing more than a title eliminator. Hell, I don't even think Pettis deserves to be in a title eliminator at this point, much less a fight for a title, but I'd accept that. I am curious what Aldo will do now. I can easily see him just retiring, I don't think he wants to fight anyone other than McGregor at this point but I don't see Conor ever fighting at 145 again now that they don't allow the use of IVs. Edit: NM, I see that Aldo said he plans on defending. Glad to hear it.

Week 13: Raiders' Game Preparation - Inactives Announced
MDH replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shaq was directly responsible for Bortles getting to the outside on multiple occasions because he crashed inside instead of holding the outside. They actually ran the read option successfully with Bortles because Shaq wasn't setting the edge. -
You realize that while the Raiders are the 5th highest scoring team in the league, the Bills aren't far behind at 8th? And as much criticism as the Bills' D gets it has been much better than the Raiders' D this season. Stats don't tell the entire story - obviously - but this idea that the Bills' "can't keep up" is not accurate based on what we've seen so far this season from both teams. The Raiders play a lot of close games so most teams are keeping up with them, just not finishing.

No kidding, why attempt that FG? You're setting yourself up for a loss. -

No wonder you're happy with the QB play, you're under the impression he just needs to lead the offense to 15 points a game and he's doing his job? -

It's also one less conference loss for one of the teams. Not sure if it's helpful or not overall. -

The Seahawks lead the league in scoring D and they allow 17 points a game on average. The Bills allow 21.5 a game and rank 12th in the league. 21 points, while not ideal, while not good is not "TERRIBLE." It's pretty much average in this league. Get some perspective. -

Pretty sure if Kansas City wins this game the Dolphins move into the 6th seed in the AFC. -

21 points allowed is bad now? What, is this D supposed to be an all time great D that never allows teams to score in the 20s? 21 points is about average, I'd love for them to shut teams down but 21 points isn't that bad. -

You could see he was late in the replay. He needs to put the ball in Clay's hands right as he clears the 2nd level, not throw the ball when he clears it. It's also not an isolated incident. TT doesn't throw the ball when a player is about to clear the defense, he waits until he's fully clear and by that time the safety is in play. It's one of his major flaws. He just can't pull the trigger until he actually sees the guy wide open. It's the same problem EJ had/has.
