  1. Luckily the Titans are one of the few teams in the NFL who have allowed more points than we are. Their best performance of the year was last week when they allowed 23, in every other week they've allowed 30+. If the O can't get back on track this week it will spell trouble.
  2. Fitz runs a complex offense too - and he runs it pretty well. The problem is he can't throw with any accuracy and misses wide open targets time and time again. Getting your teammates in the proper places and making the right read doesn't matter if you can't hit the open man...
  3. Baltimore has already played 4 home games as well. Things get a lot tougher with 6 of their last 10 on the road. In fact, of the teams listed above as contending for playoff spots the Bills, Pats and Cincy have all only had 2 home games vs. 4 road thus far. That puts them in favorable positions going down the stretch. I put home games as a more important factor than trying to divine strength of schedule.
  4. The Bills started last season 5-2 with the two losses coming by a combined total of 6 points. They had a +64 in point differential. They had two blowout victories and a come from behind win vs. NE. Most analysts thought they were a good team - how did that turn out for them? Bottom line is nobody has a clue how good/bad most of these teams are right now.
  5. Not sure what you were watching but take away Kolb's scrambles and the Cards still rand for 116 yards on 25 carries (4.6 ypc.) I saw the DL dominate the LoS consistently playing on the Cards side of the ball yet I failed to see LBs fill their gaps or get off blocks to make plays. What I did see were missed tackles...again. The only complaint I have yesterday about the D had to do with the LBs in run support - they weren't good.
  6. Of course he's not in football shape so he'll sit inactive for a few weeks.
  7. Maybe. A quick look at recent Superbowl winners shows that 3 of the last six winners were among the elite in point differential while 3 of them weren't. The Giants were negative in point differential last year and only +22 when they won in 2008 (the 2007 season.) The Colts were the other team not in the elite with a differential of +67 which is a far cry from the +189 of San Diego, +152 of Baltimore, +148 of NE or the +172 of the Bears that year. I didn't go back any further than 6 years so perhaps more samples would prove your point.
  8. How can you like those ugly a$s navy blue jerseys more than the current ones? Granted, I would have preferred just using the throwbacks but the new jerseys are light years better than the navy ones.
  9. Dude played an outstanding game and was a big reason for a road win against a quality opponent that stopped the bleeding after back to back losses and helped save the season. Yeah, let's not give him due credit for that. Why do Bills' fans compliments always have to have the word "but" after them?
  10. You've got this backwards. Good footwork enables him to get more of his body into the throw. When his footwork is good his arm isn't nearly as weak and he can actually make all the throws.
  11. Man, Mario doesn't get credit for his good game because, "the Card tackles suck", the Bills don't get credit for their wins because "the teams they beat suck" and now Byrd doesn't get full credit for his huge plays because of the above. Bills fans have been miserable for so long they don't know how else to be. There are lots of things to be critical about from yesterday's game. Fitz's accuracy, The LB play against the run, Chan's playcalling, etc. But it kills me that people are trying to deny credit to players who actually played well!
  12. Fitz's mistakes come from his footwork - which is just abismal. With no pressure on him he constantly throws off his backfoot or off balance and he rushes his throws. Not surprisingly many end up off target. QBs with strong arms can get away with this sometimes but Fitz can't. Fitz is fantastic at 2 of the 3 most important elements of QB play: His reads are good and he makes them quickly. The problem is he's missing the most important thing - accuracy. All the correct and quick reads don't matter if you can't put the ball where it needs to be.
  13. I have to say, it did make me feel better about the win yesterday when I found out Carrington partially blocked the FG attempt and it wasn't just a shank from Feely. I'd much rather win due to a Bill making a play than to an opponent just F'in up.
  14. Nobody says the Dolphins and Eagles are gold standards but all of those teams have winning records in games they didn't play the Cardinals. In such games those teams are a combined 13-7. That's a .650 winning percentage which is pretty good in the NFL. So when those clubs play other teams they generally win yet they all lost to the Cards. Yet the Cards are "inferior." And yeah, the Chiefs and Browns are bad - but now we're not giving credit to the Bills for beating teams they should? Isn't that what you want from your team? Most people think Cincy is going to compete for a playoff spot and they just lost to those same Browns. The Ravens struggled mightily with the Chiefs two weeks ago. This is the NFL, not the NCAA, no win is automatic. Not sure why I'm trying to talk sense to you, you clearly have an agenda so I guess I'll let you get back to it.
  15. The Cards had won 7 in a row at home (before yesterday )and have beaten the Seahawks, Pats, Dolphins and Eagles this year - none of which has a losing record. How is that an "inferior" opponent?
  16. Man, no matter what the Bills or their players do we always have to hear lines like this. The Bills win and it's, "yeah, but they can't beat good teams." Their players do well and it's, "yeah, but the opponent sucked." I swear some of you just can't give any credit to anybody.
  17. As annoyed as I was with in inaccuracy yesterday I found myself thinking this exact thing this morning. Everybody is always saying how Chan needs to turn Fitz into a game manager and just not lose the Bills games. Yet when they did this yesterday everybody was pissed off.
  18. I greatly dislike the all whites. I much prefer the blue pants and white jerseys.
  19. I don't think anybody believes they are a quality team. My hope is that maybe, just maybe, the rest of the league is so mediocre that the Bills have a chance. After 12 years of no playoffs I'll take getting there any way I can. If 8-8 gets the Bills to the playoffs I'll take it. Right now it appears there are two quality teams in the AFC - Houston and Baltimore (and Houston is in the process of getting their as$es handed to them at home.) Everybody else is pretty mediocre, at least at this point.
  20. I don't get it either. The first 6 games of last season he was fine but since then he's like a worse version of Kelly Holcomb. He's only capable of the dump off pass and he can't even throw those accurately.
  21. Thank Feely and Byrd for that, not Chan.
  22. I'm not sure about the talent. The WRs are mediocre, the QB is inaccurate, the OL is the walking wounded (granted when healthy they are a quality unit.) On D the LBs are absolutely horrible at filling their gaps, getting off blocks and tackling. Just abismal. I saw so many instances today of the DL getting push upfield and disrupting the ballcarrier only to have absolutely nobody filling the new hole he adjusted too. And if there was somebody there to make a play they missed tackle after tackle. I've never seen so many rushing yards gained by a team that was constantly losing the LoS battle. Until the LBs get better this team isn't going to be able to stop the run consistently.
  23. How about showing that he has no faith in Fitz at the end of the game and running into the line twice (when the opposing kicker just kicked a 61 yard FG and they had all their time outs) and then turning around in OT and throwing it every single play but 1 (and that 1 run netted 17 yards)? I still can't wrap my mind around his play calling at the end of this one.
  24. NS, I'm happy with the win but Chan did everything he could to give this game away.
  25. Nice run out of bounds...
