Well I think our problems right now one too deep to jettison a guy because he is laughing on the sidelines after a loss. That's exactly the type of roster mismanagement that makes us keep spinning our wheels. Don't trade your talented players until you have enough that you can afford to use a draft pick to replace them.
The problem with that is that it just circles the wagons of mediocrity. That's problem with this front office, that will be the 3rd running back traded prematurely. Then we are going to draft another running back high because Jackson will be too old to be an every down back next year.
Is anyone else getting sick of these threads? Talk to me when these guys do something against another team, not our offense. When you watch these guys play other games you don't hear their names get called. Maybin would get three sacks against our O-Line.
This seems to make the most sense...I say give him a chance with Byrd before you end the experiment. A few half decent LBs in front of them wouldn't hurt either.
I bet we could sell Trent to a SF or another team that runs the West Coast, on the West Coast. Maybe for no more than a 4th but hey, beggars can't be choosers.
If the Bills luck into another win against Houston and go into the bye at .500 how does the front office justify not bringing in a veteran or two to play OL??
Spencer Johnson can play alright in stretches. However I think it's safe to say that Kollar wasn't the problem re. McCargo
I would like to add however that Kollar may have been the problem re. Kelsay, Denney, Schobel, Kyle, etc.
TO's first catch from Edwards in the preseason was a slant route right over the middle...I haven't seen TO run that route once so far during the season.
While T.O.'s tweets may have been somewhat childish, I find Rodney Harrison unbearable on Football Night in America so much to the point that I won't even put it on anymore. Which is a shame since Tony Dungy is a great in studio analyst. Of course having Olbermann on there doesn't help either
My question is...what kind of routes were they running to get open? Were they deep out and go routes that Trent didn't have time to complete? How many slants or in routes did T.O. and Evans run? It's easy to make one guy (Trent) the scapegoat but all the players need to be in position to win...whether Trent was looking at the checkdown too much or not, his time back there was limited back there. You need to put your playmakers in position to make plays regardless.
These guys have been invisible...even on special teams but I kind of feel that we'd be better off giving Stevie Johnson a chance to be the 4th WR in our 4 wide sets rather than useless Roscoe.
As much as I hate to say it our swing tackle Kirk Chambers does nothing for us besides swing the momentum in the other teams defenses' favor. Bell was rough around the edges but he did have his moments out there. Chambers looked useless. It's kind of sad since he gave us a few pretty good games out there in the past as an injury replacement. I'm not sure who it was, Bill in NYC?, but somebody called out Chambers' futility in the pre-season and boy were they right...brutal. Bell is the lesser of the two evils right now and we need him out there. At least there is a chance that he might get better...Chambers has hit his peak and is free-falling off the other edge.
The o-line struggled today badly, particularly on the edges but I also thought that the play calling left a lot to be desired in that I thought they came out and tried to establish the pass first against a poor run defense which I feel was a mistake. Freddie was out of rhythm all game. That said Trent played horribly however to place the blame souly on his shoulders is ridiculous. I do have faith in AVP to make the necessary adjustments however unlike Turk who would just shove his game plan down his throat. Bottom line is AVP is three games in as a play caller and there will be bumps like the one today where he got schooled hardcore by his former head coach.
