  1. Yeah, that comment by TG was quite subjective. Besides the fact that there is a salary cap in the league, you think a guy like Mike Shanahan would say "Eh, I'm not as good as Belichick or Parcells so why even bother."
  2. From Bills Daily: Bills Not Talking About Coaching Search: As Ralph Wilson alluded to earlier the team has issued a statement regarding the coaching search, it states: "The Bills organization is focused on the next seven games and the efforts of Coach Fewell, the coaching staff and our players. We understand there will be much speculation regarding the head coaching position, but we will not comment during the process until a new head coach has been announced.” What it doesn't say is if the team has started the coaching search or not. Link - http://www.billsdaily.com/news/index.shtml#111909 That seems a lot more cryptic than Wilson's statement which begs the question...why do they let Ralph talk at all? I guess we can thank our pal JW for that.
  3. Brandon seems to have Ralph's ear. Brandon also has shown glimpses of seeming to be a good business man and knowing what he's doing, hence canning Jauron and finding a football guy to run things...not sure what all of the Brandon hate is about, I'm kind of starting to like having him around.
  4. I guess you can make your own jokes pretty easily with the last guy on the list... Pickings seem slim outside of Frazier.
  5. I think Nix would fit in Modrak's current job with a new head personnel guy...actually that sounds quite appealing to me.
  6. If Brandon was the genius they say he is, he would make the move right now to bring a real GM, say it was his idea and throw the rest of the front office under the bus. Then if the new guy succeeds, as does Brandon. Clearly that's the angle that will need to be taken to sell tickets next year anyway.
  7. I especially liked the part when they never mentioned the comeback game once during the whole game despite the Titans being dressed in Oilers unis.
  8. Yup, I was definitely watching a different game than you...Scott was a liability out there, but I don't blame him since he was put in a position he has no business playing.
  9. Eh, I'd like to see a bit more consistency from McCargo before I punch his ticket. If Lynch and Jackson were both used correctly they'd be a monster duo.
  10. Exactly. There are a million of those...even this year with Maybin...Orakpo, Oher, the list goes on and on. But you can't assume they can make a trade up, because it is pretty rare in the NFL, particularly where they pick every year, without giving up the house or totally fleecing someone, which is something our FO is not capable of.
  11. Yeah, I'm still pretty convinced you made that story up. Just like earlier in the year when I was arguing with a guy because he was ripping on the Bills for not picking B.J. Raji. There are plenty of choices that you could bash but when you start criticizing them for not picking players that were picked before their slot in the draft, well, I just think that's idiotic.
  12. Good story. Too bad you just made it up. The Niners always had the pick in front of us. They picked the guy they wanted in the spot they had.
  13. That quote says it all...who is this guy and why has he had so much say with this franchise over the years?
  14. I honestly feel bad for Poz right now...Whitner is on the pine, Maybin hardly plays, Poz is the only whipping boy for you guys right now. I thought Scott made Poz look like Dick Butkus out there. But that shouldn't be all that surprising seeing as to the fact that Scott is a safety.
  15. Exactly...if the other team is going to pass every down...we are essentially playing with two Free Safetys and a Strong Safety lining up to two LBs...this scheme is a joke
  16. No rebuilding takes 3-4 years with good personnel people in place. Assuming we do get good personnel people to rebuild this thing, Stroud is one of the guys you keep. Besides we gave up a 3rd and 5th for him two years ago...so subtract the two years he's aged and what are you getting back. It's more worth it to keep him.
  17. Watching the GB/Minn. game right now, Leslie Frazier is looking real good to me...and he won't cost much.
  18. It doesn't even have to be a big name either. They don't need another Donahoe. Get an assistant GM from one of the good teams, NE, INDY, etc. Get an older guy like Reese who wouldn't break the bank or cause too much of a stir. Just get someone.
  19. There are good players but there is no plan. Can the Cover 2 and get a big run stuffing MLB and but Poz on the weak side, Maybin on the strong side, and see how these guys look then. Is Whitner a SS or FS or a nickle CB? Make up your minds.
  20. I think what they need to do is much simpler...they need to identify one guy right now to hire to run football operations. Hire him right away. Fire nobody. Let him start work now on the offseason during the week and he can spend his Sundays and the beginning of the week seeing who on this team is worthy of keeping. That gives a new guy two months to strategize for the draft and offseason, find a coach that fits his team vision, and puts discipline and accountability into the organization. It's clear that we need a real football ops guy in here. Bring him in NOW.
  21. On a roll tonight huh John? Again, agreed, Ellison is clearly not good. He shouldn't see the field again. Season is over. 3-5 at the break, get Harris in. He'll make some rookie mistakes but get him the experience.
  22. I would try and bring in two starters for sure, either a tackle and a guard or two tackles and swing Wood to center and Butler back to Guard.
  23. Well, that's not entirely true. Byrd was a second round pick. The problem with the Bills FO is that there is never a plan. Hasn't been since Butler left. Donahoe just collected skill players for years and then when Marv came on there has been no accountability with this front office. There is no figure head, no real leader so there is no direction. Like I said in other threads, spinning wheels.
  24. Agreed, the biggest mistake was moving Langston in the first place. We needed vets on this line and moving Walker over ruined him...he was decent enough for us on the right side, which is now a sieve, not to mention would have been helpful to have a vet next to Wood.
  25. We have good players spattered all over the lineup. What we don't have are any good units. That's speaks to the football ops department.
