  1. For a late rounder, maybe. A 2nd? Nope.
  2. If you don't want to get hurt...don't play football.
  3. I rewound that play and the replays at least 20 times, just to watch 2 things: 1. The PERFECT pass Allen threw. 2. That unbelievable block. It says a lot about this team that guys were playing that hard in such a meaningless game.
  4. Ted Washington is wondering "WTF"?
  5. I can understand minimizing defense at the top of the draft because guys like Dahlin come along so infrequently but putting absolutes in place is not smart business. You really wouldn't have drafted Dahlin? Really? I guess we'll see how smart that is...
  6. Maybe...but maybe not. Skinner held ALL the cards because he could refuse ANY trade. I don't think anyone was giving up much to get him as a rental. I have no disagreement here. We've all watched Jack leave dozens of helpers on the ice over his career because his teammates either don't have the sense or talent to finish the plays he creates. No man is an island. As great as Gretzky was...he was better with Kurri.
  7. They've basically blown up their team. New owner, new GM, new Head Coach. None of them really have any loyalty to Skinner and their window to start really winning is a couple of years away, so they didn't see much reason to keep him around. Keep in mind that he's had some concussion issues as well, so they're rightly wary about giving a long term deal to him. As great as he's been, I'm VERY concerned about the Sabres giving him a 8+ year deal...not because he's not going to average 25+ goals a season when he's healthy, but because guys who've suffered multiple concussions have a much higher likelihood of suffering a long term/career ending injury from a hit or fall. Skinner has long been a very good/great goal scorer...a guy I really like. Make no mistake, though...Eichel is a HUGE reason he's on such a roll. He also got TRADED for nothing in a contract year...so he's REALLY motivated. I'll believe he's "this" guy if he's still here and doing it 2 or 3 years from now.
  8. Or they could have simply run it on the other side of the field, which was completely blanketed by shadow. It's amazing how little attention to detail is paid by this franchise, especially after all of the chronic losing. I remember watching Jack Ham's "A Football Life" and him talking about how Chuck Noll told him to change the position of his feet by a few inches and how much of a difference it made in his play. This team is still making unforgivably dumb mistakes week in and week out, squandering winnable game after winnable game. If you swap coaching staffs, the BILLS probably beat the Patriots by a similar score. As Bill Parcells said: "More games are lost than won." The BILLS last 18 years give example after example of that fact.
  9. When your receivers consistently drop/misplay/misadjust to very catchable balls, every QB tries to be even more perfect...that leads to what we keep seeing. Get some NFL talent and lets really see what this kid can do.
  10. There are more than enough rules in the NFL favoring the offense.
  11. I don't want you to get me wrong...I have been in the military. I understand all of that and how far we go for each other based on our common bond.
  12. Thanks for posting and doing what you do. I come from a family with police...I know how difficult a job it is being society's parents. Most people only see the worst instances of how police behave, the never see the 1000s of other interactions that happen each day. It takes a special person to put on that uniform every day. My only real problem with police is the "Thin Blue Line" that exists and keeps bad cops from being terminated or prosecuted as often as they should be.
  13. non-con? WTF is that?
  14. Seriously...you need therapy. Like serious...committed type therapy. You have some serious PTSD going on.
  15. Dude...get some counseling.
  16. You know what you don't see in the video? Anything that led up to it. It's very conveniently edited to make the cop look as bad as possible. My father would have shook that cop's hand and then took me home and tore me up himself. Which is why I have the sense today to know the right time to question authority and am courteous to a fault when it comes to manners. That kid isn't a victim. He's someone who has desperately needed an ass kicking...and probably will need a few more. Save the "he could have been paralyzed" for whatever other victimization complex you have. And I promise you...anyone who puts on a first responder uniform in the world today isn't a coward. They know what they deal with every day and the average American has nary a clue.
  17. Officers are superior soldiers to NCOs? Forgive me while I laugh uproariously. Education in America today is indoctrination. Very few public or private "education" entities "teach" people how to think critically anymore, which is why we see continued unabated escalations in almost every social situation. Everyone is a victim and bears little or no responsibility for their actions/responses. What we've lost in America is honor and integrity. That's not an educational problem...it's a moral one.
  18. Montana and Young would throw for a million yards in this era. When they played, you could actually play some pass defense. I greatly enjoyed finally seeing an offensive line penalty called on the Patriots at a critical point in a game. It's been a pet peeve of mine for pretty much their entire run. Drop back 500ish times a season...2 holding penalties a year.
  19. I don't know or care why Berglund isn't showing up. He's got $10M reasons to be a professional and do what he's paid to do.
  20. Q has said he won't coach this season. I think he's going to be able to name his team and it wouldn't surprise me at all if he chose the Flyers.
  21. This is the NFL...if the ball hits you in the hands, you have to catch it or they'll find someone who will.
  22. No talent? Really?
  23. Boy, their PP is just incredible. They create so many opportunities with each set.
  24. Couldn't agree more. If there's a long term positive deal to be had at the deadline, then by all means. Otherwise just keep doing what you're doing because it's clear we are moving in the right direction. People are freaking out a little but this is pretty much what young, talented teams do. The injuries have added up and losing McCabe has made his value even more obvious.
  25. It would be nice to get a PP chance when you're dominating play. These officials are brutal.
