  1. I don't know about "keep banking" (as in year after year), but for this year it makes sense. Their offense was relatively young In 2024, they set the franchise record for points scored were top 10 in both rushing and passing. The average age of their starters was about 26 years old. Their defense was not as effective and was on average older, around 28. So they are hoping for improvement of their effective and relatively young players on offense, and banking on a few replacement players to lift the defense a notch. This team was a whisker from going to the Superbowl last year, let's hope the plan works.
  2. Did Miami just draft Jordan Phillips out of Maryland again? Deja vu.
  3. The comp pick the Cowboys will now get instead of the Bills in two years mostly offsets the draft picks involved with the trade. So Bills must be confident that they can find an equivalent player or better for the $2.7M that they would have paid Elam. It's unfortunate the pick did not work out.
  4. I wonder how the salary cap and offsets work for the Bills when the Titans picked him up then cut him a week later. EDIT: Now signed by the Bucs.
  5. Specifically against Bruce Smith: Richmond Web
  6. I don't have the link, but someone with inside knowledge posted on Reddit that this whole thing with Tyler Bass was just an elaborate 9 week ruse to mess with Miami fans.
  7. From close range, Kickers may eventually learn to kick something that bounces in the landing zone and into the endzone. But I suspect only a couple teams will spend significant time on that skill.
  8. https://www.buffalobills.com/news/bills-gm-brandon-beane-on-why-the-amari-cooper-trade-happened-how-the-wr-will-fit-in-buffalo-s-offense Bean 09:08. There is potential to get a comp pick. I think comp picks are limited to 5th rounders for non QBs with 10+ years. Cooper was drafted in 2015, so this is his 10th year.
  9. There is no real advantage to kick a high ball to the 5. The kick coverage still starts at the 40 yard line and they need to wait for the ball to bounce or be caught regardless of where it's kicked from. So perhaps try a lower kick that bounces in the landing zone. It's a shorter kick so it's likely easier to execute.
  10. The Bills may recoup a 5th round comp pick if he leaves as a free agent next year to a reasonable contract. (Shakir, Shorter, Van Pringle where recent 5th rounders).
  11. Gabe is a good blocker, but Hollins is as good and probably better. As a WR, Gabe is a drive killer mainly due to his inability to adjust during routes - leading to incompletions or interceptions that other WRs make easy catches on. Bills offense started clicking right when Gabe got hurt last year.
  12. They would have had the youngest starting lineup if not for Coleman taking so long to run onto the field.
  13. Allen has been a much better QB without Gabe Davis with the exception of a game or two. I hope he finds good chemistry somewhere else.
