I am a bit concerned about facing Kap in the first game. That always creates an emotional bump and a level of unpredictability. I think the team will be okay, but I do wish we were playing Gabbert.
Wow, if I were the NO owner, I'd institute a policy of just never signing any of our players to big contracts. What a mess for them between Spiller and Byrd.
With a redshirt freshman seeing his first action, they will try to keep it simple. The way this game is going though, they are going to have to open it up soon...
This is a great point. Ball control, smart returns, and an occasional swing pass out of the backfield would be well worth it. That PR fumble against the Pats still haunts me.
If things don't pan out, won't we draft a QB and see what the Ohio State kid has (and probably sign a journeyman to compete for the starting job)? In that situation, we still wouldn't end up paying a QB big money for a long while.
