  1. This article talks about the combine but specifically two DT's from the 2003 draft, 1st rounders; And you can see from the success -- or lack of it -- of other defensive tackles taken high that he's right about that. At that point, Kennedy was the third DT the Rams had taken in the first round in three years (Damione Lewis and Ryan Pickett in 2001 were the others), and none had done anything to that point. In fact, all three of those guys are testaments to the time it takes to develop (as well as testimony to why the Rams have gone from the top of the NFL to the bottom). It took until 2008 for Lewis to become a starter (in Carolina) and Pickett was just made Green Bay's franchise player for $7 million. At age 30, he's finally found a home in a 3-4 defense. In any case, the point of all this is to say that it may be hard to take two more months of the Suh-McCoy debate -- with Sam Bradford, McCoy's Oklahoma teammate thrown into the No. 1 picture if the Rams decide to go that way. Despite the 628 media members in Indianapolis for the scouting combine, we're not going to get the answer from Indianapolis. Nor are the teams, who spend so much money and so much time analyzing everything they can analyze about every prospect. Lewis and Pickett and Kennedy and Joseph (and, of course, the likes of Ryan Leaf) highlight the reality that nobody ever knows for sure about a prospect. . In fact, you might say Joseph's career peaked in his first game when he sacked Warner in the end zone. It was one of seven NFL sacks he's had. It looks like DT's that come out of the box strong are rare.
  2. Here's an article about the available players since the franchise tags have been used; http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/article/20...ket-takes-shape Now that Thursday's franchise tag deadline has passed, we have a clearer picture of who is available -- and who is not. Pittsburgh Steelers nose tackle Casey Hampton went off the market Thursday, re-signing for three years and around $21 million, with $11 million guaranteed. However, Carolina Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers and Arizona Cardinals linebacker Karlos Dansby are days from becoming free agents on March 5. They could be joined by New York Jets running back Thomas Jones and Cardinals safety Antrel Rolle -- two of the prominent veterans still in danger of being released. LaDainian Tomlinson and Brian Westbrook have been cut, leaving them uncertain about their future. "I'm like a guy coming into the league again," Tomlinson said Wednesday during an emotional press conference. "I just want an opportunity to prove that I can play." Since the Bills probably won't run after the high priced guys the only two guys on that list that I see for the Bills are Thomas Jones or Chester Taylor. Getting one of them would free the team up to trade Lynch. If the Bills do trade Lynch I'd love to see them do it with Oakland and get Michael Bush and a draft pick in exchange.
  3. New Bills coach Chan Gailey was spouting a similar tune during an interview at Lucas Oil Stadium. Gailey said he and new defensive coordinator George Edwards can adjust the scheme of the three-man line to fit the talents of the players on the team. "Everybody's looking for a certain type of guy, and we all are looking for that guy, those of us in the 3-4," Gailey said on the first day of the combine workouts. "And there's not a lot of 'em, to be perfectly honest. So you have to take people you have and adapt the way you play. You don't have to play the same type of 3-4. You can adjust to what people do best." That's awesome! That is as it should be. Hopefully they have the smarts to back up that plan.

  5. How is anyone going to be able to talk about Pam Anderson for that week?
  6. http://www.democratandchronicle.com/articl...WSFRONTCAROUSEL Twelve to 15 inches of snow could cover Rochester by midday Friday as part of a powerful winter storm expected to blast the Northeast. The National Weather Service in Buffalo has a winter storm warning in effect from 7 a.m. today through 1 p.m. Friday for much of western New York. Meteorologist David Thomas of the National Weather Service said snowfall should remain "minimal" through tonight's commute, although the drive could be icy if the snow freezes to the road. He said snowfall is not expected to intensify until after 7 p.m., with the most significant accumulations still expected during the overnight hours into early Friday morning.
  7. Tomorrows hockey game will be on NBC in the afternoon and the gold medal round will also be broadcast on NBC, according to the TV schedule right now.
  8. These people who complain would probably rather see their kid go to a movie where 50 guys are killed graphically than let them see boobs.
  9. If you reread my post with the scouting synopsis' they say he takes plays off. That's more than his body. This is from the first synopsis; Cody has the talent to be a much better player than he has shown on film, but to become that player he will need to lose at least 40 pounds and play with more passion and intensity on every snap. From the second; Terrence Cody has been accused of not being in shape and taking plays off, http://www.newerascouting.com/01/terrence-...couting-report/ Terrence Cody Scouting Report Posted by Matt Miller On January - 7 - 2010 Terrence Cody 6′5, 365 pounds | Defensive tackle | Alabama Pass rush: Average, at best, against the pass. Doesn’t have the agility or speed to get to the passer fast enough. Routinely gets taken out of games on obvious passing downs. Doesn’t always seem to try hard against the pass. Pursuit: Cody’s lateral movement is almost non-existant. Cody has one direction – straight. He barely moves left to right. Quickness: Shows a good first step to get into position. However, Cody doesn’t necessarily have explosive agility to move around. Run defend: Cody’s size allows him to be a premier run stuffer. He takes up multiple blockers and is hard to move off the line of scrimmage. Clogs running lanes really well and forces runners to go outside. Gets off blockers really well. Size: The size Cody possesses is unique. Most high-end defensive line prospects don’t come out of college this big. Cody is massive throughout his frame and packed with strength. He has had some weight issues and will need a strength coach to keep on him. Strength: Unbelievably strong. Even though he’s almost constantly double teamed, Cody can move blockers around with ease. Can tear blockers away with ease. Tackling: Cody is a devastating tackler. He engulfs the ball carrier and pancakes them. Typically gets a lot of his tackles while still being blocked. Technique: When Cody is trying hard, his technique is actually fairly sound. He keeps his hands inside the pads of blockers and sinks his hips to drive. However, Cody can get lazy and stop using his fundamentals. Versatility: Has virtually no versatility. He’s a defensive tackle and that’s it. Cody is too slow to play on the outside or even drop back in zone coverage. Final word: Cody’s mystique greatly out-weighs his production. He will be over-drafted because he’s such a unique player playing in a position of strong need. Cody’s size and strength is very rare. When he’s playing hard, Cody is stellar against the run. But one of the big problems with Cody is that his effort isn’t always 100 percent. Training camp will be tough on Cody as he’ll have to really get into shape to find playing time.

  12. A woman driving by the stand at 7919 176th St. E. on Oct. 7 called sheriff’s deputies after she spotted Lenn outside the stand. She was wearing a thong bikini bottom and no top, according to court records. __________________________________________ The deputy confiscated the pasties and booked them into the South Hill precinct property room as evidence, his report states. Freaking busybodies!!
  13. Thanks, fun to watch.
  14. This is the reason I really, really, really want to see Bell do well for Buffalo. (Other than filling a much needed position) http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=hill/080507 Malone reportedly impregnated Bell's mother when she was 13 and he was a sophomore at Louisiana Tech __________________________________________ It would be one thing if Malone was unable to financially provide for his son, but he made more than $100 million during his NBA career. The Salt Lake (Utah) Tribune reported that when Bell's grandparents initially took Malone to court for paternity in 1986, his second year with the Jazz, they requested Malone pay $200 a week. Malone didn't respond to the suit, but a Louisiana judge ruled he was Bell's father -- after a paternity test showed that was indeed accurate -- and ordered Malone to pay $125 a week, plus past and future medical expenses. Malone claimed that was too much and later reached a confidential out-of-court settlement with Bell's family between 1988 and 1989. ___________________________________________ A decade ago, Malone and his wife -- with whom he has fathered four children -- spoke at a conference on families and talked openly about the children Malone has fathered outside of their marriage. Of course, the Malones were talking about Daryl and Cheryl, not Demetrius. Malone told the audience: "Everything I've been through, everything I'm about to go through in my career and my life, if my family wasn't with me and didn't support me, it would be really tough." Bell's mother asked for $10, 400 per year and Malone thought that was too high?! He wanted to pay $6,500 per year. When the Bills go to the SB I want Bell to be their starting LT so this story will get worldwide attention and embarrass the out of Malone. I will laugh my ass off when 100 or more news outlets want to talk to Malone.
  15. Keep it up!
  16. So lack of articles about him is your proof? I don't know how well he's conditioned himself, but neither do you. You are taking Nix too literally. If a guy cannot maintain his weight I'm sure that would enter into his decision making process as well as several other factors. I'm basing my opinion on draft reports, here's one; (They have him rated as the 23rd best DT in the draft.) http://warroom.sportingnews.com/nfl/draft/...ayers/8835.html Overall grade: 7.7 Position rank: 23 TERRENCE CODY MEASURABLES Height: 6-4 Weight: 370 40-yard dash: 5.77 10-yard dash: 20-yard shuttle: 60-yard shuttle: Broad jump: 225-lb. bench: 3-cone drill: Vertical jump: Wonderlic: 20-yard dash: Terrence Cody DT, Alabama War Room analysis Strengths: Is massive, with the size and strength to anchor at the point of attack against all types of run blocks. Flashes the ability to shed and toss blockers and make tackles on runs at him. Is instinctive; reads the play fast. Weaknesses: Is overweight and out of shape. Is not nearly as productive as the hype he receives would indicate. Lacks quickness, explosiveness and burst off the ball, making him a virtual non-factor as a pass rusher. Cannot shoot gaps to blow up running plays in the backfield. Lacks the athleticism to make plays outside the OG box. Does not use his hands consistently well to take on blockers; cannot shed and get free in time to impact the play when he doesn't use hands well. Does not protect his legs well from cut blocks and gets stopped in his tracks by them. Bottom line: Cody is one of the most disappointing players we have evaluated in recent seasons when compared to the hype he has received. He is way overweight and in bad shape, which limits his ability to move quickly and make plays outside of a very small area. Cody's draft status will probably go way down in the spring, when NFL evaluators' opinions of players start to dribble out to the media. Cody has the talent to be a much better player than he has shown on film, but to become that player he will need to lose at least 40 pounds and play with more passion and intensity on every snap. Do not be shocked if Cody ends up getting drafted in the seventh round by a team that plays a 3-4 scheme. He is not going to be drafted high because history says players who struggle with their weight in college usually have weight issues in the NFL, too. Even the scouting reports that have him listed as a first or second rounder say that he has a real problem maintaining his weight. Here's another link: http://walterfootball.com/draft2010NT.php Terrence Cody, Alabama - Scouting Report Height: 6-4. Weight: 370. Projected 40 Time: 5.50. Projected Round (2010): 1-2. 1/26/10: Terrence Cody weighed in at 370 at the Senior Bowl. This is a concern, but with quality nose tackles being so rare, Cody still has a shot at the first round. 11/20/09: Did a great job losing some weight this year and has shown more effort on the field. He's likely the only stud nose tackle who will be available this offseason, so even though he's only a two-down player, he'll be a hot commodity. 5/19/09: Terrence Cody has been accused of not being in shape and taking plays off, but he's still a first-round prospect; it's not like talented nose tackles grow on trees. 11/23/08: Terrence Cody said he's not declaring early, but once he discovers that he has a great shot at being drafted in the top 15, he could reconsider. Cody is a monstrous run-stuffer and should be a Kris Jenkins-like difference-maker at the next level. He's a two down player. IMO, a team should never spend a high draft pick on a two down player. Most draft people rate him first or second round talent but the history of the NFL is littered with first round draft busts. It's my belief this kid has bust all over him. I just don't think there is any reason to take a guy that early with those concerns. The Bills will be better off taking another guy at a different position with fewer questions. I can't remember the Bills, during the Levy, Polian/Butler era, ever taking a guy that out of shape. He weighed 370 pounds at the combine. If the kid isn't ambitious enough to optimize his physical condition for the combine it's a very bad sign. JMO
  17. Very odd, I wonder if the trainer did something the whale interpreted as hostile. Tillikum is a bad name. It's a jumble for Kilit Um. T I L I K U M
  18. But a friend of mine saw Ralph's Taurus being gassed up near the airport.
  19. How do you know Ellis is in shape, and how does that change anything I said about Buddy Nix? Buddy Nix never drafted Ellis and had he been in the Bills draft room that year I doubt he would have. The skinny on Ellis coming out of college was he was lazy and it looks like that was hitting the nail on the head. Why would anyone draft a guy who needs that much attention? His bust factor is raised a lot by looking like that. I'm sure the trainers were trying to work with Mike Williams too and that didn't turn out so well. Marv Levy used to say that it wasn't his job to motivate players and Polian seemed to pick self motivated guys in his drafts. I can't remember Ted Washington ever looking like that.
  20. Character, I believe, means a lot to him too. This kid doesn't have a work ethic that shows some kind football character. What they do on the field is extremely important but so is attitude off the field.
  21. If you want to checkoff then do it without letting us know.
  22. I look a lot better than that, and I look awful. Also, I'm 45 and have never been a professional athlete. Just sayin.
  23. The stitching on my inseam.
