  1. Your talking ablout the old Freezer Queen plant on the outer harbor. Those are not built yet. Gordio is speaking about the inner harbor Waterfront Place tower which is under construction. FYI, the 2 penthouse units in that building are already under contract at in excess of $1 million each.
  2. Really? No offense, but that comment is ignorant. Obviously there are many high paying professional jobs in the Buffalo area, and I would consider employers like M&T, HSBC and Delaware North big business. We just don't have as many as some other areas and certainly not as many as we would like to have. That's what some of us are trying to correct in whatever way we can. Like others in this thread, I have pride in where I live and your incessant commentary on something you know nothing about is tiresome. There is tangible progress on the waterfront in both the inner and outer harbor areas, and it is not just promises, but actual construction taking place. Now flame away.
  3. Steve -- when I turn my cars in off lease, I go to Delta Sonic and get a lower service below what you have listed. I believe it runs about $40 (might be more now). It includes their deluxe wash and an interior cleaning (floor mats, upholstery, dashboard) that leaves the car looking and smelling great. The dealers always rave about how great the car looks. I don't think you need to go the full route you have listed there.
  4. It's not tax exempt, as it is a capital improvement, the contractor is required to pay sales tax when purchasing the materials. So you're really paying the sales tax plus their markup. Either way, you have to pay the tax.
  5. AHHH .. Brad's answer to the WGR whiner line, "The Beef" on WECK.
  6. Two Bills Drive contributor ExpertOpinion is shown with his new invention, the handheld truck excavator. Expert is quoted as saying "oh sure it looks like it won't work, but remember, I'm an expert!!"
  7. my choice too (the first of the two catches, that is). Roland caught the bottom half of the ball!! Absolutely amazing.
  8. What do you mean you can't give us pics?? Just tell her you're thinking it over, but in the meantime the guys on the messageboard I'm discussing you with need to see photos. I don't see a problem.
  9. OK -- now that I googled that, I nominate this line for post of the year. Just hilarious.
  10. what a beautiful speech. AJ was a terrific kid put in extraordinary circumstances, and he handled it with more class and grace than most of us display in our lifetimes. God bless you and your family and thanks for sharing his story.
  11. Annie - 3 year old Bernese Mountain Dog Sadie - 10 year old Cocker Spaniel
  12. Link Good for Murph. I do hope Dennis Williams finds something besides his 2 hour GR shift to keep him in the market. I think he is a quality sportscaster too.
  13. Watched it and thought it was great. Excellent cast. Giamatti is wonderful as usual. Really interesting history lesson for those of us too far removed from school. Really looking forward to the next installments.
  14. Dear AJ's Dad -- what a beautiful testamant to AJ. My deepest condolences to you and your family.
  15. That is not correct. WGR's owner, Entercom, absolutely did buy WNSA. I believe the price was $10mm, which was driven up at the time by a last minute competing bid from local owners who were planning on keeping the same sports talk format. WNSA is now Entercom owned WLKK "The Lake". So the claim that they bought ratings is absolutely legitimate, and they paid a steep price for it too.
  16. probably the same criteria for getting a star on Hollywood Boulevard, about $20,000. I don't know if this award was ever considered prestigious, but it's alot less now.
  17. Well, Sullivan clearly nailed that one. This morning, when a caller offered a pretty logical argument, IMO, that it's too early to declare this a disastrous trade for the Bills (can we at least see who we draft, Jer?) and that Willis certainly could not be considered an elite back at this point, Jeremy started yelling (I'm not kidding) "Oh come on! Sully... is that you?" That's when I had to turn it off. Sports radio in Buffalo is pathetic right now.
  18. Agree. This morning's show was basically unlistenable, as was Riter's last night. My favorite part was when Jeremy rationalized that the McGahee trade had to be a huge mistake for the Bills because Baltimore has been the more successful franchise over the last ten years, so his money was on them to make the better personnel judgement. That is some great logic there!!
  19. God...that is funny!! Coffee on the keyboard funny.
  20. Couldn't agree more, Lori. Solomon is pathetic. I am actually dreading the trip to the KAC tomorrow to watch them get destroyed by Canisius (but I'll do it anyways). As for Reggie, just have to say that he and I graduated from Sweet Home High together in '79. He was the nicest guy in school and liked by everyone. No pretense about him despite being the star athlete and I am thrilled for his success at UB. His coaching skill is obvious and he is the primary reason UB is a program on the rise. Those criticizing him are out of their minds.
  21. Please stop making me laugh out loud at my office. People are starting to stare. Great post.
