  1. PTR, just to be clear, UB is not selling the actual tickets just yet. I went to the Alumni Arena box office today to get my tix and they filled out an order sheet with my mailing info, quantity of tix, etc. and scanned my credit card. Thay don't actually have the tickets yet. Apparently, those are coming by horse and buggy next week. I was a little surprised (and ticked a bit since I wasted a drive over there). They are filling the ticket orders in date order with preference given to season ticket holders and alumni. He assured me we would be getting very good seats. I am a little nervous since there idea of good seats might be 5 rows off the field when I would prefer to be 30 rows up. Anyway, I guess we will find out next week.
  2. Gus' story just keeps getting better with age. God bless the little guy and his family.
  3. Me too. On an unrelated note, I always loved that comedian John Foxworthy.
  4. Way to man up. I sure am looking forward to your coach's appearance on Letterman monday.
  5. Our group should be about 10 strong. Everyone is psyched. I see where that is the only college bowl game that day (I know the NFL playoffs are that day, but that doesn't much concern us unfortunately) so there should be a decent audience. Coach Gill has simply done an amazing job.
  6. To me, it just seemed as the usual chaos that ensues upon our annual swoon brings out the worst posters this board has to offer so I just stand back and seek safe haven in Off The Wall (as you can see by my post count, I mostly lurk). But the Toronto aspect of the game is absolutely first and foremost in my mind. Sadly, I will be treating this as a bye week like stated in another thread. I will spend some quality time with my wife and get some Xmas shopping done. I simply cannot stomach watching my team play a "home" game in another city. This game may be good for Ralph's finances, but it sucks for me. Also, the realization is setting in for me know that this team will be gone permanently shortly after Ralph's death. I always believed he wouldn't do it to us but he is intent on not taking the necessary steps to ensure the franchise remaining in Buffalo. So, f him. My emotional attachment to the team is waning a little with each mediocre season, probably as a defense mechanism to the big bomb I know is coming. Before anyone flames me as fair weather, know that my family and/or my business have been season ticket holders continuously since 1973 and I have attended over 80% of the games at the Ralph since that time.
  7. That's good stuff. Also, DeLacy Ford is having their annual toy drive for Women & Children's Hospital (for those more inclined to donate low-tech toys). In either case, a great way to spread the Christmas Cheer to those most deserving kids.
  8. With Schobel I wouldn't expect much of anything, the dude is surly. You might want to wear a cup.
  9. What a game!!! Congrats UB! Detroit here we come.
  10. Very sad. RIP Tom. Condolences to his friends and family.
  11. Seriously considering a roadie to Detroit for the MAC championship should UB get there. This year has been a lot of fun. Above and beyond being competitive, they play a really entertaining brand of football. On a related note, this Sunday's Outside the Lines on ESPN is about the UB football team in 1958 that turned down a bowl bid because of the refusal to allow UB's black players to play. link
  12. And that right there sums it all up. Unbridled (and often unwarranted) optimism is what it means to be a Buffalo sports fan. Hang in there Peevo and welcome to our little cult.
  13. Maybe it was too loud for him. I'm sure he'll be happier next month in Toronto. You should be able to hear a pin drop.
  14. Wow. That is a scary situation. I am glad you (or anyone) were not seriously hurt. Couldn't agree more about the organization. Their actions more than the abysmal play on the field are fueling my growing apathy.
  15. He was a featured guest speaker at the Monday Morning Quarterback Club so I highly doubt his presence at the game was a surprise. Dubious source so I'll assume dubious facts.
  16. yeah, I guess I just happened to catch a few minutes when they were testing it. Hopefully, it will be up when they get to the stadium. Looked good though.
  17. see for yourself. Right now there is live streaming video from the limo bus. Very cool.
  18. Yeah, that weekend has something for everyone, for sure. One small correction: The saturday night hoops is hosted by Canisius at HSBC Arena.
  19. Also, gametime forecast is clear and high 50's for kickoff. God bless global warming. Should be a great time.
  20. LIN and TWC settled as of this morning. link
