  1. I've tried for ten minutes to come up with a joke that deals with the synonymous phrases 'playing a joke' and 'pulling a boner' but just can't quite get there. Too bad - it might have been funny.
  2. If one of my posts warrants an insult, can you at least make it a good one?
  3. Actually, the rest of us have him on ignore. You guys should try it.
  4. Stop obfuscating with details and facts.
  5. You've certainly got the right guy for the job - my porn name is Brute Foreskin.
  6. Meat Explosion - sounds like a pretty good name for a band. Or a porno.
  7. You know who else drowned his son in a bucket even though he was on track to....... oh, never mind.
  8. Bingo. They should always be subject to anything they pass, no exceptions.
  9. I was extremely impressed with Michael McKean's acting skills last night. Chuck's meltdown on the stand was nothing shirt of epic.
  10. It's the fact that you seem to have a need to make the distinction between "wife" and "jew wife", or "wife" and "black wife" that makes people think that perhaps a little introspection on your part might be in order. You will never in your heart hold people as equals if you're always attaching a color or ethnicity to them. Every one of your posts on the subject is a pontification by a self-proclaimed expert. You do not toss out an idea for discussion, but instead simply tell people "how it is". Any disagreement is dismissed out of hand. It never even occurs to you to consider an opposing point of view, does it?
  11. Wasn't he recently saying that it would be AI that will do us in in 100 years? That's what I though the linked article would be about until I read it.
  12. This just goes to show that even a genius like Hawking occasionally says stupid $#@$.
  13. The problem here is in trying to assign some kind of moral superiority to either TM or GZ. The actual moral of the story is 2 idiots + 1 gun usually = at least 1 dead idiot, if not more.
  14. It's a good question for everyone. It's not intended to receive and answer, it's intended to make people think. So give it some thought - where do rights come from?
  15. I've never heard of this before, so I'm doing a little reading up on it. From the Nature Conservancy: https://www.nature.org/ourinitiatives/regions/northamerica/areas/greatlakes/plan-bv7.xml Syracuse.com - an apparently more neutral point of view: http://www.syracuse.com/outdoors/index.ssf/2016/12/plan_2014_controversial_plan_to_regulate_lake_ontario_water_levels_approved.html Here's a more critical treatment: http://www.whec.com/news/international-joint-commission-lake-flooding-plan-2014/4470845/
  16. Equating the industry with the hackneyed stereotype of the mustache-twirling villain is not the way to identify the reasons for the high cost of pharmaceuticals. I would imagine that children are covered on their parents' plan.
  17. That sort of thing is hardly the reason for high pharmaceutical prices.
  18. I understand that you're not advocating - I didn't mean to imply that you were. So much of the justification by advocates for getting the feds involved in healthcare and coverage seems to be based in fairness, or that it's a right that everyone deserves. A lot of people appear to feel this way, and although I believe that their good intentions are genuine, there will be ramifications that many do not foresee. As long as we remain free to provide for ourselves as we choose, there will be private (boutique) medical services available to those who can afford it. I believe there's going to be a significant number of people who will find that to be unacceptable. It will be a case of "rich billionaires and Washington fat cats" having proper, quality care while rank & file Americans line up for their government-issued services. We all know how envy plays such a large role in ginning up support from voters, so I don't believe we can end up with any kind of lasting public/private model.
  19. If indeed that comes to pass, how long do you think it will be before those on the public system will resent the superior care received by those who can afford to pay their own bills? Will they begin to demand such care for themselves? Do you think that there will be a call to do away with private care in the name of fairness, or a call to do away with government provided health care services? I ask that only half-facetiously, because I honestly do not think that the average American understands the can of worms they'll be opening with a centralized, socialized single-payer system. My wife's family lives in Madrid, and their access and treatment is appalling. That's exactly the same thing that we're going to end up with.
  20. Hey, how is it up to anyone else is to say if she's Hillary Clinton or not? A person knows who they are inside, no matter what shape or form they were born with. It's not up to anyone else to impose gender or identity roles upon another human being.
  21. The left thought this was a great idea back when Bill Clinton was pushing for employees to be able to opt for up to 80 hours of time off in exchange for overtime hours worked. Let anyone else make a similar suggestion, and watch them start crying worker exploitation.
