  1. I don't suppose Jackson Lee paid for that ticket with anything other than taxpayer money?
  2. If you're trying to enjoy the company of a few friends and one jackass won't shut up, when you finally throw him out, it isn't censorship. You smoke too much.
  3. Do I think he's trolling? Absolutely. He's also spamming the %^%# out of this board.
  4. Channel 7 was the only local TV news we ever watched at my house growing up. Irv was the man. Rest in peace.
  5. They're not even a real country, anyway.
  6. For what it's worth, putting a poster on ignore only keeps their BS from cluttering up the threads you read, provided everyone & their brothers don't quote them with every reply. That being said, if he's not the same person as tiberius, gatorman, etc, then he's every bit as useless, and no loss either way.
  7. %&#$ you and your trolling. The more you guys respond to this idiot's crap, the more he's going to post.
  8. Another option, and one that would leave me laughing hysterically, would be to close the whole thing down and turn the building into another Trump Tower.
  9. No surprise, since we've seen over and over and over that too many people simply do not know what fascism actually is. They don't see any parallel between then and now. It's too easy to emote rather than to think, and history is largely ignored because too many think it's just too damned boring. Try to explain to them, and you're called racist, or that you're blinded by your white privilege, or even worse, called a Trump supporter, literally the worst thing in their minds that they could ever call you. It doesn't inspire much in the way of optimism, does it?
  10. I've always kind of liked the idea of moving the UN headquarters to an economically depressed area, like Detroit, or almost anywhere in Mississippi. The influx of Euros, Rubles, Rupees, and Dinar could make a real difference in some of these places, not to mention the money saved on ditching that Manhattan real estate.
  11. Too many people are either unable or unwilling to look at the issue as one of legality, instead opting for the emotional, ideologically driven accusations of racism. That approach in addressing issues has become far worse across the board during my life time. It's all about emotion rather than intellect.
  12. I was surprised to read that the ACLU was okay with that practice.
  13. You have to give them credit though - death panels may not have materialized, but the ACA turned out to be the giant pile of excrement that they claimed it would. What I find admirable about the TEA party movement is that it was organic in origin, and not the brainchild of some partisan organization. Yep, spot on. Well said.
  14. That was my takeaway as well. I was also struck by his speaking for independents. I'm independent of party affiliation, as are many people I know, and the only people that I've heard throwing hissy-fits over the tax cuts are dems & libs. No, but they make up in self-righteousness what they lack in self-awareness.
  15. Just for purposes of conversation and clarity, what is it about the tax cuts that are "nice" in light of the bullet points you've provided?
  16. Just trying to keep it PC.
  17. Hmmmm.....let's try to focus on ways to eliminate racism by separating us racially in order to better address the problem. Gotcha. And these are educators.
  18. Her apology was pretty feeble too: "Awesome, u found me! Thanks for telling me. I’m new to this school rivalry and got some bad info! I apologize and took down my tweet"
  19. Not sure what you mean - NN was repealed, not implemented. It's no longer a concern. That means that the internet can be the internet without further interference from the feds.
  20. " Political correctness often comes from a good place—I think we should all be willing to make accommodations to treat others well. But too often it ends up being used as a club for something orthogonal to protecting actual victims. The best ideas are barely possible to express at all, and if you’re constantly thinking about how everything you say might be misinterpreted, you won’t let the best ideas get past the fragment stage. " That just makes too much sense.
  21. Has anyone considered that he's likely just another sock puppet of the gatortroll?
