  1. hey....that gives me an idea for a song....
  2. I think the answer to your question lies in the first part of your statement. fear of the IRS is bipartisan with voters. even 40 years after his resignation, accusations of using the IRS against political opponents still dogs the legacy of Richard Nixon. no one wants the IRS getting into their business. I think there's plenty to motivate this administration into hiding any such activities they may have engaged in, and I think they're willing to settle for being able to play this off like it's just a bunch of partisan accusations from the right. that way they can at least hang on to their base.
  3. things like this are beyond cruel, sickening, or heartbreaking. it's evil. I hope they suffer.
  4. no worries. besides, it's good to see that the article gets it right.
  5. indeed. my response was meant for Chef's 'So how would you suggest we reallocate assets?' question that he posed. I was acting as a sort of surrogate for the g-man, since we all know how he'd answer.
  6. not to mention 'here comes the sun' as well as 'if you have ghosts'. I saw them this past May, and was surprised at how good they were live. so many bands nowadays only sound good in the studio and fall well short of their own sound in a live setting. not Ghost....if you ever get the chance they're worth checking out.
  7. I'm guessing 'redistribution of wealth via taxation'.
  8. no matter how many times he asks, Chef still won't get a reasonable, cogent, or relevant answer.
  9. okay, there's clearly more than one 5-winged bee at work here.
  10. could be. they're certainly better dressers.
  11. you don't happen to live downstream from a nuclear power plant by any chance? perhaps your clover is being pollenated by 5-winged bees.
  12. that's why I resisted commenting on Marino's lack of resemblance to Arte Johnson. people would assume that I used to watch Laugh-In when it was in its first run on TV.
  13. nor spell 'sleight' correctly.
  14. well, someone's showing their age.
  15. why don't you answer his question? all you did was link an article that says the same old thing that dems have been charging for over six years, which cites a CIA report that senate dems aren't releasing. as usual, all you've got is the same old nuthin'.
  16. 'good looking and reasonably not crazy most of the time'
  17. I just figured they were checking for freshness since dog butts don't come with an expiration date.
  18. I wish this was better quality - Green Manalishi, originally by Fleetwood Mac, covered by Judas Priest, performed by Pantera with King Diamond on vocals.
  19. oh, not at all, sir. you've got me all wrong. I only wanted to bolster the bond of fellowship among Bills fans by removing such polarizing topics as political commentary and social issues. giving potentially contentious off-topic posts a new home was motivated by nothing but a genuine, warm-hearted desire to do good, and nothing at all to do with crushing the minds and spirits of otherwise innocent people in an effort to drag their wretched souls to a screaming eternity of torment in the flaming halls where the master's tender mercies are administered at the end of his burning trident. and you're due for a raise.
  20. perhaps that's because there are less corporations willing to stay here and pay such a high rate?
  21. the takeaway from that story is that our corporate tax rate is so high that now democrats are seeing the need to lower them for the sake of keeping businesses here. the other day in a speech that he gave, the president was calling corporations that move overseas 'un-american', when instead it's more 'un-american' to tax free enterprise at such a high rate.
  22. I would imagine it would be a transparent, socialist red.
  23. your problem is that you're a reasonable person and can appreciate license taken when converting a tale from one medium to another. I on the other hand, am an insufferable purist that can't relax enough to actually enjoy such things. I'll never forget how stoked I was when I walked into the theater to see the first Conan movie starring Arnold. being a huge Robert E Howard fan, I couldn't wait to see my favorite character from my favorite books lopping off heads on the silver screen. alas, I was clutching at my temples in a desperate attempt to keep my head from exploding less than 5 minutes into the film. I've only gotten worse in my old age.
