  1. That author's opinion doesn't square with the TEA party folks that I know. None of them are concerned with social issues for the most part, except with regard to increasing the size and scope of federal programs. Maybe there's a cadre of TEA partiers somewhere that make a big deal out of social issues, but I've never met them.

  8. See below. You nailed it. It fascinates me how people think - if it's mine, then it's an exemption. If it's someone who's wealthy, or worse - a corporation, then it's tax evasion. We can have a civil discussion when we all decide to drop the memes and characterize things as they really are.
  9. Palmer is really pushing it with Eichhorst, and he'd better be careful if he wants to continue to live. At this rate, as soon as the Master can pull all the strings on his own, Palmer is toast. He is apparently unaware that the Master can see and hear through any strigoi he wishes, so all this smack-talking Palmer's slinging around is going straight to the Master, whether Eichhorst passes it along or not. I initially suspected miss Coco to be a plant - someone put there by the Master to keep another set of eyes on Palmer, but now I'm starting to suspect that she will die horribly as a way to remind Palmer of who's really in charge.
  10. FWIW, loopholes aren't a means of evading taxes, but are exemptions, like being able to write off the interest on your mortgage. Your use of the term illustrates your bias.

When Obama is preoccupied with stuff like this, it means he's not screwing up something important, like medical insurance, nuclear arms deals, red lines in the Syrian sand, our economy, relations with international allies, shovel ready jobs, race relations, border security, and anything else you can think of. If he really wanted to do right by changing the name of the mountain, he'd call it something like "Mount Buffalo Bills", or "Azalin's Peak".

I think miss Marchant is going to find out all the crap Eldrich is getting into with the Master, freak out on him, and get whacked - probably by Eichhorst. Just a guess, though. I'm very suspicious of Dutch's ex. It doesn't add up that she simply twisted her ankle and then hid all this time. I suspect that she was captured and released so that the Master might have another means of finding & tracking the group. Mr Quinlan is a badass. He's going to be very entertaining.

Pay attention: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Creator is not simply a direct synonym for God. You don't have to believe in God to have been created. In this case, Creator can just as easily mean the set of circumstances that caused humanity, both as a race and as individuals, to exist. It can be taken as a religious reference, OR a secular reference. By virtue of our very existence, we are endowed with certain unalienable rights. The entire concept that identifies out rights is also the same thing that makes us all equal as human beings. This is not an argument. It's a statement of fact.
