  1. Perhaps the guns can be refitted to fire bureaucrats?
  2. I know, right? Those things are nigh indestructible.
  3. Too many people tore off their mattress tags.
  4. Spoken diplomatically, tongue-in-cheek.
  5. I can't speak for republicans, but speaking for myself I like as many people to be involved in the process as possible. I just like them to be legal citizens, be alive, and only vote once per election.
  6. It appears to have been replaced with a sense of entitlement.
  7. But he was 21, so he's probably been out of school for six or seven years already.
  8. What the article doesn't say, quite glaringly, is if the boy was diagnosed in 2012, why has it taken so long to get to the point where they're arguing over his ability to be treated? Has it really taken so long between his diagnosis and his treatment? Say what you will about the state of healthcare here pre-ACA, but at least we could get relatively immediate treatment.
  9. And he wears those hideous mom jeans.
  10. I dream of a day when a leader will not be selected by their gender or the color of their skin, but by the content of their character and their ability to lead.
  11. I guess it depends on what you're trying to accomplish, but if all you want to do is give your innards a good cleaning, nothing works like a bottle of magnesium citrate.
  12. Yeah, I've heard about that, but not until he ran for office. Definitely not a good move, no mater how you try to explain it.
  13. Duke and people like him don't have a cause - they're just frightened, spiteful little people, who are thankfully dying off as our society matures. While I will admit that Trump has said some pretty stupid things, especially regarding illegal immigration, I would point out that to my knowledge, nobody ever accused Trump of racism until he became a republican candidate for president. Curbing illegal immigration is a major issue in this country, and he did himself no favors in laying out his case for building a wall, but I believe too many people are confusing racism with nationalism in their regard for Trump.
  14. You just want poor people to be denied health care. Gatorman said so.
  15. That's what I thought when David Duke came out in support of Trump. People freaked, crying that Trump must be racist because Duke supported him. I figure David Duke probably eats hamburgers, but just because I eat them too doesn't make me racist by association.
  16. And despite the influx in Dixiecrats into the republican party, they still managed to be the party to back LBJ's civil rights efforts in the 60's, who was being thwarted by his own party. Don't be so selective with your history.
  17. I don't know enough about the history of the supreme court (maybe someone else can elucidate), but I believe that the court originally had only six justices, and that additional seats added were probably politically motivated appointments.
  18. It was about time you called me an idiot. I was beginning to feel left out. Speaking of turnips:
  19. I believe you're 100% correct. Let's hope that's the case. I realize you're no Trump fan, but just the thought of Hillary as president.....
  20. You're right. That's a significant distinction that probably doesn't occur to most people. I could understand Germany's reluctance to place the refugees in camps (can you just imagine the blow-back from that?), but it's obvious that the streets of Berlin and Paris isn't a good place for them, both on their behalf and that of the native citizenry.
  21. "French people have been kind to them. I know they’re desperate, but the least they can do is respect the law and try and integrate into French society.” That sounds familiar.... I agree with you, but with a caveat: If the refugees come from a culture significantly different from our own, then steps need to be taken to keep our citizens safe from the people we're trying to help. It's not like the US is unfamiliar with integrating foreign nationals into our society - in fact, our nation has historically benefited from it. It's plain to see that the refugee situation in both Paris and Germany have reached crisis proportions, so we would be foolish if we followed the same path as them and expected anything different than what's happening over there.
  22. Seeing how it's said that the pres supposedly had emails from an unofficial email address on her server too, then I would think that silence on the issue would be in his best interest.
