Perhaps if George had stayed in his truck like the 911 operator said things would be different. There was no "overwhelming evidence" that George was attacked first. My theory on this case is it was 2 knuckleheads. George for following him when instructed not to. Trayvon for doubling back. He lost George and was right by his Father's apartment. But he decided to double back and look for him instead of going in and locking the door. If either one had sense it would have been a total different outcome. Of course, George would still be in jail because he's a hot head pistol packer who's not afraid to whip it out.

Yes, we have now reached the silly part of the presidential election. The part where both candidates are picked and have been running for almost a year. We know all about them, where they stand, and what they say they want to do. Media needs to cover something, so they take some innocuous comment or event and and blow it out of proportion making it a BIG STORY for 2 or 3 days. Sort of like when Dukakis rode in a tank with an Army helmet on, or we found out Romney once tied a dog on his car, or candidate doesn't know what the capital of Karjskistan is. It'll be like this for the next 3 or 4 months. I'm not trying defend to Trump. He was right. I wish people would think for themselves instead of believing everything Don Lemon or Rachel Maddow or Sean Hannity tell them.

You beat me to it. This sounds like segregation which I have always thought was wrong. 10 years ago I thought we were making progress in race relations. Just from observation and anecdotal evidence it seemed like we were. Observing my daughter (high shool age and college age) and her peers it seemed they were much more oblivious to race. They just got along and didn't understand what all the hubub about race was. I remember seeing an interview with Will I am and he said racism was dead for his generation. They didn't understand the fuss. Now I don't think so. Now I think it's getting worse. This whole "white privilege" thing is turning the tables on racism. As the devil (white male baby boomer from the south) I have tried to treat people fairly regardless of race etc. I've worked with and had friends (oops, micro-aggression) of other races and we treat each other with respect and as equals. That's what I thought we were trying to get to. Now it's just getting more tribal. Divide everyone into groups. Count how many of each. It ain't helping and makes it worse IMHO. In the words of Los Angeles philosopher, "can't we all get along?"
