We're the sixth best team in the AFC. We're in the PLAYOFFS. QBs job is to win. We win. And yes, Hotrod helps. A lot actually. Phillip Rivers and Matthew Stafford and Kirk Cousins had a ton more passing yards than Hotrod but they'll be watching HIM on Sunday. There's a lot more to football and QBing and winning than passing yards. In fact, the 3 leading passers last Sunday will all be watching football this weekend. I never said it had anything to with his height, race, where he was drafted, hat size, or favorite food.

5 Interception games... fun fact
reddogblitz replied to twoandfourteen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dumping a playoff QB for a fishing expedition for the next great golden armed "Franchise QB" is drought thinking. We're now post drought. Now it's about winning. If we can find a BETTER QB for 2018, go for it. Otherwise, put the other guy on the bench and continue winning with Hotrod. -

Highest completion percentage in Buffalo Bills franchise history for QB throwing over 500 passes. PLAYOFFS !!! But yeah, 56 yards. -

This sound nothing like Hotrod. -
I think this is where a lot of Hotrod grief comes from. While in 3 years with him under center we have won .535 of the games, many dislike him because he is not that 6' 3" taken in the first round golden armed franchise QB. He's unconventional, yet effective. Sometimes thinking outside the box is good. A QB that's different and an offense that takes advantage of his talents would be smart. Great coaches have done that throughout history. Everyone laughed at Tom Landry when he introduced the shot gun. Everyone laughed at Marv when he wanted to runt he 2:00 offense all game long.

Tyrod Taylor's "Signature Moment" of 2017?
reddogblitz replied to twoandfourteen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How can anyone forget the Colts game? That was the game that told me that PLAYOFFS were a definite possibility for us this year. The way the team came together at the end to win that one was amazing. That's what playoff teams do. Win tough games down the stretch. -
Playoff QB’s Ranked - Pete Prisco - CBS Sports

I disagree. I think our style of offense if our D also shows up and we get some run game will be fine to beat Jacksonville. After that, you may be right unless we run into Tennessee or KC in AFC Championship. Mine: 1. Hotrod 2. Brees 3.Ben 4. Ryan 5. Newton 6. Smith 7. Goff 8. Keenum 9. Brady 10. Mariota 11. Bortles 12. Foles -
I thought the same thing when I read it. Let Hotrod do his thing. At the same time don't get away from what got us where we are. Jacksonville is no better than some other teams we beat with the get a lead and sit on the football strategy. Thinking teams like KC and Atlanta. Maybe we get a few of our "lucky" turnovers. One turn Hotrod loose play I'd like to see is to line up 4 WRs out. Everybody go long. Then Hotrod take off running. If out O line is playing like they certainly are capable of, our run game will be fine with whoever we put our there. Go BILLS !!

Tyrod Taylor's "Signature Moment" of 2017?
reddogblitz replied to twoandfourteen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pathetic . Any one of the three on this vid would qualify. The Holmes one on the sidelines is an out and out studly pass and catch. This is a lie. My wife was not big on him last year or really the last two. She has been a Bills season ticket holder for 30+ years. After watching him this year, she (like me) wants to keep him for next year. -

He arched a rainbow into the EZ Sunday with O'Leary standing in the pot of gold wide open. It was the difference in the gMe. We won both those Fish games. I can think of a couple of signature plays. One where he scrambled around And found Holmes on The sidelines in EZ as Holmes layed out for it. The bumper pool TD where he ricocheted it off Zay's hands into the waiting arms of Holmes Was pretty cool too Y'all just either ain't paying attention or have brown colored glasses on. He's made a ton of great plays this year. -
This is an excellent point. We have been winning on teamwork and gumption and will power and flat out wanting it more than the competition. And excellent coaching By Coach McDermott. NOT because We have superior talent or stats Trust the Process.

Maybe you should pay attention. Broncos fans know a thing or two about good QBing. -

I put the odds at 50/50 that Nate Pickerman is even on the roster next year. -
If Shady is Out, is it a Good Thing?

I like this. Put 5 wide. Everybody go long. Then Hotrod runs with it for 25+ yards before anyone down field even sees #5 running. -

The only people that think Hotrod sucks are Bills fans. Grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side if the fence -

I expect to read how dumb it was for us to win so many games. -

reddogblitz replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, but just saying a post is dumb with no explanation or reasoning is dumb. That's all. Why was it dumb? The poster made several points/suggestions. Which one was dumb and why? Just saying it's dumb adds nothing to the conversation. Has nothing to do with boyfriends/girlfriends etc. -

Of course it's not a GOOD thing for McCoy to be out. But it reminds me of a Houston Oilers playoff game in the 1980s. Earl Campbell was even a bigger part of Oilers offense than McCoy is to ours and total monster and D wrecker. However in that game, the Oilers relied heavily on D and other RBs and passing to WIN the game. Dan Pastorini was the QB. So it's not like they had some monster "Franchise QB" to carry them through. We could do something similar. Unlike many on here I don't think that Rico is a boob. I have seen him do some impressive things with play calling etc this year. Hotrod's TD pass on Sunday was one and the pass on the goal line Hotrod missed were examples. Those guys were wide open and the Fish were totally faked out. Jocks all over the field. Putting in the Webb package vs the Patsies** was another. I suspect he'll play. If he can get on the field (even with crutches) he'll play. I like our chances either way. -

reddogblitz replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did you miss the TD pass to I think IT was O'Leary on Sunday? The play totally faked out the Fish so that O'Leary was standing by himself in the EZ. Excellent play design and call. Flawless execution by the O. Plus Hotrod can throw the !ong ball. I actually think since the slump Rico has been doing a decent job going 4-2 with only losses going to the Patsies** -
Any saying the Bills are lower than 12 are just plain silly. If those other teams are better than us then how come they already had locker clean out day and we have not? I'm a strong believer in you are what your record says you are. The playoffs determine who the best team are, not sport writers. Right now we're 6th seed in AFC. That would put us a at no lower than 12. If we win this week, we'll move up to 8th lowest. Gotta be killing the tankers. Bills are the 6th best team in AFC with a possibility to go even higher. Prove it on the field. Go BILLS !!
