EJ was over coached it was drilled into him to avoid contact and get out of bounds. I think EJ is overthinking out there instead of letting it loose. His style is very robotic and things don't come as naturally to him. The benching may be a blessing in disguise as he gets to work on things he needs to correct without all the pressure of trying to carry this team as he is not ready.

Week 1: Bills vs Bears prediction & AFCE teams
billieve420 replied to BillsFan-4-Ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This guy predicts the Bears winning 28-2 lol. Couldn't he at least given us a field goal. http://www.sportsxchange.com/tsxfiles/?page_id=211&max_colums=60&story_id=87493 -
If you plan to turn the team over to Orton. EJ is not the answer and you need to be looking for a replacement. There is no point holding out hope for a guy who is not going to get any better sitting in the bench. EJ is the type of player who needs a lot of reps and if there is not tangible improvement the FO missed the mark time to cut the cord. I want to see if EJ can make it through a season without injuries. I think there has been some minor improvement from what I have seen from EJ in terms of delivery and footwork. The moving o-line around him has not helped with things. Chemistry with WRs takes time to build upon. Keeping the guy on the bench there will always be questions whether or not if he can be the man. I think he needs to go through the growing pains and see if he can make it. Orton is a serviceable starter but there is a reason he is a backup at this point in his career. Bills were desperate and paid for the lack of experience. If EJ is a franchise QB like this FO believes he can be it is time to prove it.

Am I the only one who still believes in EJ?
billieve420 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Barring injury EJ needs the entire season to prove himself. With the uncertain ownership situation I wonder if he gets it if things start to turn sour. Front office and coaching staff are playing for their jobs and they know it. I rather give EJ the full season and if he can't cut it turn the page and look for his replacement. -
I think the primary reason for the Palmer signing was to extract information for the Bears game. It is totally a Belicheck move and anything else we get out of him is a bonus.

Looks like the practice squad will be increasing from 8 to 10 players starting this season. This is good news for young players who need extra seasoning. Also, in the event of injuries having someone familiar with your scheme you can bring up versus looking for street FAs. I hope we scour the waiver wire for an upgrade at guard as it still looks to be a major position of need. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/08/18/report-nfl-expected-to-expand-practice-squads-to-10-players/

Fred Jackson signs contract extension
billieve420 replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jerry Hughes should be next. I think he is going to have a monster year. Sign him now before his price goes through the roof next year. -
How many times do you want to see EJ pass per game?
billieve420 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think 20-25 throws is where they want EJ. I don't want him throwing the ball 30 plus times especially beginning of the season. It is all going to depend on the oline. The talent is there can the coaching staff put it all together. The more effectively this team can run the ball the more success we will see. 3rd down and redzone is where EJ needs to play his best. -
I think that is what Hackett is trying to drill into EJ. Trust what you see and let it go. EJ does look mechanical sometimes out there trying to be too perfect which causes him to be late. Can he turn it around who knows but he seems like the type of kid who is going to work his tail off to improve. Hopefully that is enough to take this team where it needs to go. Can EJ be as good as a Flacco or Eli Manning I think he can. He seems to play his best ball under pressure. With a good oline I think he can make the next step this year just hope he can stay healthy all 16 games.

Kiko and Mario had Offseason Surgery
billieve420 replied to BRAWNDO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems like half the team had offseason surgery including Mario Williams. Can hear the excuses now if Mario gets off to slow start. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000353914/article/bills-kiko-alonso-mario-williams-had-hip-surgeries -
All it takes is one injury and we have no one back there which is scary.

Morgan may be a cut candidate after June 1st since he does not fit in Titan's system. I am concerned about DE depth and think the Bills should be scouting the waiver wire this summer for another guy. Lawson hasn't played position since college and Jerry Hughes is a part time role player who I believe will struggle if asked to do anymore than rush the passer.

Jerry Jones talks stadium & other stuff, likes Bon Jovi

More positive news hope it comes true. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000352356/article/source-bills-buyer-must-be-prepared-to-stay-in-buffalo -
All this means is that the Bills need to hit on the rest of their picks next year. There will be QBs available after the 1st. The draft is a crap shoot no one knows how it is going to turn out. I mean what happens if we draft another Aaron Maybin and Mike Williams next year. Whaley made the deal and stuck his neck on the line. Let us see how it all plays out.

RD2, Pick #44: T Cyrus Kouandjio - University of Alabama
billieve420 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hopefully Troy niklas lasts until our 3rd pick. I would have preferred Morgan Moses instead but no complaints about drafting an OT. I trust the Bills medical evaluation so if they say he is fine that is good enough for me. -
Looks like it doesn't matter Cleveland just drafted him.
-
Sucker some other team into trading up for him.

RD1, Pick #4: WR Sammy Watkins - Clemson
billieve420 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think people would be more accepting of this trade had it been next years 2nd and not our 1st rounder in 2015. However, Watkins was identified as one of the elite players in this draft class and we got him. I hope we can swing a decent deal for Stevie. I would take a higher round pick in next yrs draft to make up for what we gave up. -
Peter King: Bills love the ODB jr.
billieve420 replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Smokescreen I bet the Bills put that out there hoping someone is willing to trade with them. It makes no sense with all the WRs on the team to draft another one. Are we going to be running 4 wide all game. -
Selling of Bills Could Happen Even Sooner
billieve420 replied to LOVEMESOMEBILLS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brandon had dinner with Golisano this past week. Things keep getting more interesting as we speak. I think the signs are pointing to the team staying here one could only hope it comes true. http://www.buffalonews.com/city-region/golisano-and-brandon-have-dinner-as-intrigue-over-bills-ownership-grows-20140503?two-bills-drive -
Prediction: Bills move up to #4 to take MACK
billieve420 replied to maddenboy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think someone is playing Mcshay for a fool. In a strong draft the Bills need more picks not less. Other than Clowney who might be a once in a generation talent if everything checks out. I don't see the Bills making a move like this for another player. If you can use Stevie Johnson as a trade chip to move up then it makes sense to go after Sammy Watkins. -
Five preseason games: good or bad?
billieve420 replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good this team needs all the work it can get especially the younger players. I think for EJ he needs to make that jump this year. If you don't see any real strides expect another long year.
