  1. If we had to choose between Maclin or Barnidge, I would lean towards Maclin. Sammy is an unknown at this point and until he proves otherwise can't be relied upon to be available.
  2. When I saw Alex Tanney do it after the Bills signed him I thought we discovered a diamond in the rough. Unfortunately trick shots doesn't make someone a better football player.
  3. I wish they would ease rules regarding OTAs especially for players with less than 3 years experience. With Vets it is 1 thing but for young players who need the additional reps it just slows their development. It should remain non contact but teams should be afforded extra time with these players,
  4. I think people want results and are tired of all the losing. No one can say whether these changes will finally get this team moving in the right direction. In the end the product on the field will speak the loudest. Until then all this off season talk is just talk and people just need to keep an open mind while hoping for the best.
  5. McDermott provided list of GM candidates to Terry. Wonder if it went like this. 1. Brandon Beane 2. Brandon Beane 3. Brandon Beane 4. Brandon Beane 5. Brandon Beane
  6. Because Tyrod is the best QB on the roster. Who is he going to lose the starting job to? Tyrod may not be able to carry a team to a win but I don't think he will be reason they don't win. Coaching staff will favor a QB who doesn't turn the ball over and make dumb mistakes. These are Tyrod's best qualities. They are going to lean on a strong running game and hopefully improved D. McDermott being a guy who favors statistics. Tyrod gives him the best chance to win this year. There was no reason to restucture otherwise as the whole organization was ready to move on. People are being naive if they think a rookie or 2nd year qb is going to come in and be ready. They are playing for 2nd and 3rd string with Yates being the insurance policy.
  7. Can't wait for the Buffalo News if given the chance to question whether Beane was leaking info to the Bills and influenced draft choices.
  8. I think Whaley sealed his fate with that terrible press conference and from that point Pegula's were ready to move on from him. Even if he didn't know what was going on he shouldn't have admitted to it and effectively throw your boss under the bus.
  9. We are doing things backwards as normally the GM hires the coach. So the Pegula's should be deferring to McDermott as who he would be most comfortable working with. Obviously, McDermott is a total unknown, someone who has been granted unprecedented power as a 1st time HC. However, there is no turning back now they need to sign off on the guy McDermott wants. Both guys need to be tied to the hip and if they fail they both need to be held responsible.
  10. I wouldn't mind poaching their practice squad during the year. If I was the GM I would make sure they were constantly targeted and any attempts to weaken them would be examined closely.
  11. Agree it is too way early to say. I would have preferred they hired a football czar and stayed out the way regarding anything football related from hiring coaches to GMs. The mistakes they have made up to this point has set the franchise back a few years. However, we have to see how things play out and I will always be hopeful things turn around. I think the way they are doing it is risky but nothing else has worked so willing to see how things go.
  12. Agreed that Whaley needed to be fired. He had been neutered to the point where he had little to no say in anything going on. However, he was not to blame for the coaches hired. That is on the Pegulas and Brandon. From Marrone down to McDermott none where Whaley's choices and these arranged marriages were doomed to fail. Since the Pegulas have granted so much power and faith to a first time HC. They should give final say to McDermott on who the next GM is. The HC needs to have someone tied to him who he is comfortable with. Pegulas should avoid the mixed message mess they were responsible for.
  13. Whaley was dead man walking for a long time anyway this had to happen. Rex had a lot of input in the draft last year and this year McDermott ran the show. The whole empowering Whaley to make a coaching hire was a farce and I don't believe he had a say in any of the last 3 coaching hires. Relationship was doomed from the beginning. McDemott is now the Defacto GM/HC and whoever he brings aboard will probably answer to him. As long as there is clear hierarchy we have to see how it plays out.
  14. At least everyone knows where the fault lies if things blow up where with the previous setup the lines were blurred and there was no clear hierarchy. It is definitely a risk to trust a rookie HC with this much power but nothing else has seemed to work so people need to have open mind regarding McDermott turning things around. However, the bullseye will be squarely on his back going forward.
  15. Interesting didn't realize compensatory picks could be traded.
  16. CB in a zone scheme is less of priority plus this draft had 50-60 Cbs with draftable grades. At this point so I would attempt to trade back to the top of the 2nd round and get additional picks. Otherwise offensive lineman makes sense and value would meet need.
  17. They just traded up for a major project who isn't even going to play this year. They wanted to jump Arizona for sure and grab their QB of choice.
  18. KC was desperate for a QB and the Bills should have squeezed them for another pick. If we also received another 2nd or 3rd in 2018 I wouldn't have minded dropping so far.
  19. Only the Bills could screw up trading back. KC got off easy.
  20. Better be big haul to drop to bottom of the first.
  21. Drop down a few spots and still get top defensive player
  22. A good defensive player is going to be available. Now the question is do the Bills trade back or stay put.
  23. Wouldn't mind either OJ howard or Hassan Reddick and both might be available when we draft. I think Howard will open things both in the running and passing game. If we are going offense I think OJ Howard would be better option than either Mike Williams/Corey Davis. Now if we trade back Reddick or one of the 2 WRs would be my choice then with some consideration to O-line. I am still hoping one of the safeties drop which is a long shot. Safeties are more important in a zone scheme vs corners. Adams or Hooker would be a perfect fit but no way they are dropping to us unless we trade up.
  24. I think he is a dark horse candidate for the Bills at #10. It would be unexpected as most people are projecting him as a late 1st/early 2nd rd draft pick.
