  1. I'm actually crying looking at these GREAT pictures with the classic red buffalo. My next Blue will be hoisted in your honor, Mr. Macnmotion.
  2. Great pics...and what a let-down it will be when they go back to the current helmets/uni's....for God's sake, Mr. Wilson, make the throwbacks the standard uniform!
  3. Didn't Lustig admit later that he felt the mugging was well-deserved?
  4. December 7, 1980...Freddy Smerlas leads teammates back onto the field to dance with Jills after OT win over Rams. I can still remember the scene at Rich 25 years ago...christ, I'm getting old. Folks dancing in the aisles to the tune of "Talkin' Proud." That was such a great year...and if Bills win that game in SD, the AFC championship would have been at HOME vs. Oakland...think the Raiders would have had a chance? Alot of "what-ifs" that year...losing to Baltimore twice and Atlanta at home cost all-important home field. Bills win one of those three games, and it would have been off to the Super Bowl.
  5. For the money, again, for the money...you can't beat Outback.
  6. No, I don't get me started on the NFL Network
  7. Nope, Tiger's on the cover together w/Peyton Manning Evans as a second year WR looks right at 37...however, next year I am willing to bet the farm that he's in the top ten.
  8. NHLers will play in the 2006 Olympics and it has been reported that the 2005-06 season will start the first week of October in order to compensate for the league shutting down in mid-February.
  9. What's funny with these yearbooks is that NFL Films can make these things look like a 2-14 team won the Super Bowl What will be odd is that there will be hardly any mention of Drew Bledsoe as the QB last year...you will see virtually no TD passes...all touchdown highlights will be McGahee runs or ST returns. If Bledsoe's name is mentioned more than twice, I'd be surprised. The last ten minutes will be devoted to the rise of JP.
  10. usually the Monday after the first home preseason game
  11. I tried to get 10 together for the Jets....even got on early as a Backer, no dice. Jack in Syracuse, HELP!
  12. That is absolutely right...Hootie has come out publicly and said if Wie wins, she's in. God, I'm sooooo sick of this issue....Michelle Wie, Danica Patrick, and Tom Brady are the most over-hyped female sports personalities this century. When will the madness end?!?!?
  13. Go 'Port! Brockport, '85
  14. The article states: "The unofficial “legend” among long-time fans was that the number was not issued because it was reserved for the official team logo." Bills logo I just wish some more light was shed on the mystery: why number 31, and was 31 officially NOT issued because of the logo? Unless I missed it, and that's probably the case, Lynch does a poor job in explaining any significance of the logo. (Maybe it's like the Rolling Rock '33'? ) Mark VI? Rockpile? Buehler? Anyone?
  15. I doubt anything happens to this windbag...he's as close to a "god" as anyone can be around here...he is right under Joe Gibbs. The local media clowns love this guy, especially Tony Korhheiser and dope George Michael, always referring to him as simply "Gary." "Gary said this, Gary did that," etc, kinda like he's a one-named celebrity, ala Madonna. I would be very suprised if this "incident" made any hay.
  16. Pittsburgh ('92 playoffs): Spit at by some unemployed steel worker...that was it. After the Bills win, fans wished us luck. Jets, Meadowlands: Nary a peep. Baltimore: Last year...Bills fell behind early and wasn't bothered. Washington (Fed-up Field and RFK): No hassles. Cleveland ('89 playoffs): Almost as many Bills as Browns fans...was in the middle of a Bills crowd...even had Genny Beer on tap, felt like I was home.
  17. It is most definately worth the short drive from Baltimore...the trick is finding a designated driver for the ride home
  18. Partial to USNA and Annapolis...small, 30K, but great tailgate environment, the March-On of Midshipmen, and after-the-game pubs of Annapolis, all make for a great Saturday.
  19. Here in DC, Metro stations are being watched very carefully...security stepped up in stations around the White House, i.e. Farragut West.
  20. They should of had some device hooked up that would had him waving a Terrible Towel...sorta like the Santa Claus that wouldn't stop waving his arm from a Christmas episode of "Happy Days."
  21. "Christ, Kassulke was running around there like a Chinese fire drill..." Stram: "Mr. Official, how can six of you miss a call like that?" Ref: "Better step back coach, or I'll call one for you being on the field." Stram: "Whaa....WHAT?"
  22. Ummm....didn't the Kids Day sell out last year?
  23. One of the greatest quotes of alltime: John Riggins, while drunk and sprawled out on the floor, at a dinner in Washington, to Sandra Day O'C, 1985: "Loosen up, Sandy baby, you're too tight."
  24. My ticket to the home opener at Rich in 1973 was $7.00...it was a mid-range ticket, as I believe the prices were $9 for lower bowl between the 20s, $7 for upperdeck and upper end zones, and $5 for lower end zones... The real question is, what was Hammer charging to park the Dodge Duster in '73?
  25. Rochester's own, Mitch Miller.
