  1. Over 400 now in the 'Cuse.
  2. Took my satellite dish to the Fairfax county dump on Saturday, saluted, and thanked it for over 20 years of fine service before bidding adieu and throwing it on the trash heap. Good riddance.
  3. "Bachelor Number One is a film student at UCLA and you can often times find him out at Malibu catching some sun and, of course, some good waves." "Bachelor Number One, say hello to Julie."
  4. You don't want to be near the stadium, it's in a remote place with virtually nothing around it, entertainment-wise. Suggest staying in the city in the Navy Yard-Nats Park area. Good nightlife and you're a short Metro/Uber ride away from many of the sights/Smithsonians. You can take the Metro to the game on Sunday but the nearest stop is about a mile away...it's walkable though, I've done it before.

  6. While on the set of The Dirty Dozen, Browns owner Art Modell gave Brown an ultimatum: football or the movies. We all know what the decision was. Modell said in later years it was the worst thing he ever did. I know Rochester was defined as Browns "territory" before the NFL went with a national TV partner, CBS. There's still a lot of Browns fans in Rochester.
  7. Back in the 80s, I'd roam the bus lot and there was always some drunk from the night before who missed the ride and the group leader would be stuck with a ticket or two or three. They would gladly hand them over to me for $5...they figured what the heck, they were already paid for...it was the knuckleheads' who overslept problem.
  8. Ummm...I think being able to play amateur golf is a little different than playing NFL football, no?
  9. Peacock is NBC and Paramount is CBS, unless they've bought a drug store I haven't heard about.
  10. 1970s...started the decade as a Raiders/Vikings fan and went to the regular season opener at Rich and was immediately hooked. Became a Sabres fan when Bobby Orr left the Bruins. Been an Oriole fan since day one and while they won the Series in 1970, they were always in contention throughout the decade.
  11. I have a feeling this Peacock game will be the one hosted by the irrelevant AFC South champion, the former Houston Texans Invitational.
  12. George seems much more annoying to me now then when the show originally aired...the first several seasons hold up ok but the last few are dreadful, it turned into Three's Company, where the comedy was centered around a "misunderstanding." Basically, if I'm going through the channels, I now fly bye Seinfeld...there's only a few episodes I need to see again.
  13. And Fish DC Tom Olivadotti still wakes up in the middle of the night cursing Thurman Thomas.
  14. Ah yes, remember this one well...as here in the DC area, I had to rely on a choppy WHAM broadcast and the NBC Ten-Minute-Ticker. Nerve wracking.
  15. Could have swept the Braves...big series this week with Tampa. Need to take two of three.
  16. Yeah, I miss punching up channel 4 and getting NBC and 206 to get ESPN, etc. I miss MLB and NHL networks, along with MASN. But it had to be done...the cost of DTV at $122/month vs. YTTV at $73/month was just too big a gap...and after several calls, DTV was unwilling to close that gap.
  17. Also a treasure trove of NFL Films music on Spotify:
  18. If you're out of market, get ESPN+ to get all Sabres games. You even get the Buffalo feed.
  19. Welcome to the club. I'd like YTTV a lot better if they brought back MLB Network and added NHL Network though. I'd even pay extra if they lumped them in with their sports package. My gutter guy is coming this week and I asked if he'd take down the dish while he was on the roof...he was more than happy to accommodate.
  20. Casey's in Brockport had 50 wings for $5.00 on Monday nights, circa 1984. Also had $5.00 pitchers of Genny on Monday nights. We knew the cook and he told us when we ordered, tell the waiter we wanted "sliced celery." He knew that was us, and he'd pile on another 15-20 wings atop the 50.
  21. The only one I can recall was the 2011 home opener vs. the Raiders...was in the air coming back from west coast and didn't learn all the craziness that transpired in the final minutes until after the game ended. A 3-0 start in 2011 ends in a 6-10 disaster. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201109180buf.htm
  22. Yeah, that's going to be weird...they're not drawing flies now...before the end of the season, they may let the wharf rats in.
