  1. I chose Josh Allen but then again, I thought Roethlisberger was going to be a bust too. when he came out of college.
  2. That may be true, but when you are one the clock and the Bills make an offer that nobody else can beat what do you do? Demand more or take the offer? The Bills could very well make a fair offer and if the Giants try to get too greedy before the clock runs out they don't get their payday. It's a whole different ball game when you are on the clock.
  3. The Giants are on the clock and they wait patiently for the phone to ring........but nothing happens. So they pick up the phone themselves and call Buffalo? Naw. But that would be sweet!
  4. All these years of losing to Brady is too much for me to accept him in our house. Only satisfaction I could ever get is to beat him. Fight to to beat him or go down in flames. Making him a part of the team? NEVER!
  5. I have a sister that went to Alabama. She's the smartest of 4 kids. She majored in math and also speaks 4 languages. She has worked in Germany, the Soviet Union and currently lives in Chicago. Her ability to understand business math and contracts while also understanding multiple languages has made her wealthy. I certainly do not disrespect Alabama's curriculum. Just because it's in the south doesn't automatically make it dumb. There seems to be a bit of bias in this thread. I also noticed that the OP is obviously a bit of homer for Alabama and that makes his point of view a bit biased as well. No offense OP. Point is, Alabama is not just known for their great football program, but it is a great place of learning as well.
  6. Naw, he just doesn't want to see Josh's career wasted in Cleveland.
  7. He doesn't deserve to be over hyped either, but he does have an excellent resume. Nice. You're going to be dissappointed when that doesn't happen 26.
  8. That's because nobody wants to show their hand. I don't doubt that many teams have him rated higher. Also think many teams are scared of his concussions.
  9. This line of thinking that AJ hasn't proven anything is way over stated. The guy has a long history of winning championships. Folks act like the NFL is the only place where the game of football is played. Is there even one other QB in the league that has won back to back college championships? Oh, I know, college ain't the NFL. But those championships ain't nothing. Honestly, I think Bills fans are more pessimistic about QBs than any team except maybe Cleveland.
  10. We still have to add a QB somewhere. I just don't know how high they value the top 5 in this draft. If someone like Rosen is available at 6 they may bite. I just don't see this FO giving up what it would take to get to the #2. Remember they have done a lot of house cleaning(not to mention free agents leaving) and have left some gaping holes at other positions. There is a lot of work to do to get the team built. With so many roster spots to fill, I just can't see them giving away a bunch of draft picks, even for a QB. Especially when our cap limit is pretty close to maxed out.
  11. Really?!!! This ancient stuff. Why is this even relevant. And I'm an old timer looking at this from an old timer's point of view. Let it go, man.
  12. Funny. I am not thrilled about Allen either, but then again, I said the same thing about Ben Roethlisberger. Wish picking a QB wasn't such a crap shoot.
  13. If we were the Giants, we play the two teams with the most draft capital against each other. That would be the Browns and Bills. Whoever offers the most for the #2 pick....... Is anyone willing to pay that kind of price?
  14. Maybe the Browns are jockeying to move up. They could be trying to pick #2 to go with pick #1.
  15. His NFL debut was pretty bad. Maybe he can snap out of it but so far it doesn't look good.
  16. Yep. What else? Did he play on another team? Did he at the very least play a half season? How exactly is a someone supposed to evaluate whether someone is a "Franchise QB" based on 5 games? He comes in at the tail end of a season and is supposed to lead them through the playoffs. Every team in the NFL after mid season is peaking and this kid is off the bench just getting warmed up. Personally, I think he did pretty good under those conditions. Don't know if he can be great, but again, he did win 2 championships in collage. That ain't nothing. Just getting tired of the same echo chamber regurgitating the same tired line, "He's just a BU". Hope he blows up camp and finally gets his shot!
  17. That's because Cincinnati has been hiding him on their roster for years(meanwhile every team forgot about him) and the kid has no significant NFL tape. His collage tape is as good as anyone in this years draft. With back to back championships, there is a lot to look at too. He got the job done in collage. Why do you think he can't now? Everyone is assuming he is a backup but none of them have enough actual NFL tape to get a real read on the guy. Hate is a strong word but what people do hate is what they don't know.
  18. He is a BU with very little tape in the NFL. Look at his collage tape and tell me who is better in this draft. I mean actually go and look at it don't get all snarky and just tell me so and so is way better. Not saying he is a franchise QB any more than one of the candidates in this years draft, but it's not like this guy doesn't have a resume. Back to back championships is a lot of tape. Go look at it. And as far as the Bengals are concerned, they have historically done very well throughout the season only to get crushed in the playoffs. Andy Dalton has put up a lot of passing yards. AJ never got a chance. Andy was a known quantity for the Bengals and taking a chance with their BU was never needed. It is unwise to simply label someone a BU without bothering to investigate. Maybe all this guy needs is a real chance. The Bills will get another QB from somewhere to compete, but you do not know that AJ can't be a starter.
  19. I honestly don't think the Browns are planning to take a QB with the #1. Question is, what will the Giants do if that's the case?
  20. I think the WR position has taken a lot of lumps the last couple of years with injuries. It's hard to figure out just how good or poor we are at the position. Seems like every week we had different players out running routes and never were able to find some consistency at the position. I'd like to see what a healthy WR looks like for a change. That being said, I still think it would be wise to add some talent from somewhere.
  21. How many QBs in this draft have back to back championships? People keep saying AJ is a career backup. Maybe he just hasn't been given a real shot. Now he's getting one. Nothing wrong that. The Bills brass will still find another QB, I think, to compete. Nothing wrong with that either. Kind of agree with the OP. There is a lot to be thankful for.
  22. Streeter will out perform all of them in camp, then get hurt in preseason.
  23. I'm sure the Jets did put a monkey wrench in their plans, but that doesn't mean that the Jets made the right decision. They payed a pretty stiff price to get that spot. People assume that QB is the end all, be all in this draft process, but there is a limit to what is an acceptable price to pay. All of the maneuvering to move higher in the draft is ok so long as you don't mortgage away too much to get there. You still have to field a team. Having a QB is great but if you cannot protect him or at the very least field a defense that can give that QB plenty of opportunities, you are making a huge mistake. You still need a team around that QB to put you in a position to win. I want that franchise, pocket passer as much as anyone, but I do not want to destroy the team to get that passer. Folks need to step back and look at the big picture, but what we are mostly seeing is this stupid mentality that we need a fanchise QB at all costs.
  24. This thread just keeps getting better.
