  1. Back when I was at Cornell in the 80s they had a similar thing called "Ask Uncle Ezra" (referring to Ezra Cornell). It was actually a group of people that would do their best to answer just about any question any student had for them, and yes it was free. I worked with them for a semester, and they did have some weird questions. I think one that I worked on was "why do squirrels have bushy tails?" Don't ask, I have no recollection of the answer. I think it has something to do with balance. It was pretty cool, though. They had a lot of silly questions and a lot of serious ones, and people reallly took to it. It was fun.
  2. So the Dolphins have given away their 2nd and 3rd round picks in next year's draft for a backup QB and a RB who may or may not start for them? Sounds good to me.
  3. Wow...I'm not one to prod the bear, so to speak, but that was something else.
  4. What's the "Eagle's loophole" again? Nice work, by the way. Looks to me like we will be seeing the last of Phat Pat this season...
  5. Yeah...how about the reverse logic if the Bills start out 0-2? Something tells me I just won't be seeing "16-game season" talk here....
  6. Ah, my bad...I was looking at the BB.com depth chart and it just showed McFarland as the backup LT...forgot about Price, who was listed on the right side. Whew. I can't keep track of who is on this team anymore.
  7. Granted, someone actually beating out Sullivan for a spot on the team is not much of a surprise, but McFarland is now the guy backing up Jennings? It's not a question of if, but rather when, Jennings will miss time with another injury. The thought of a rookie stepping in to protect Bledsoe's backside does not fill me with confidence. I didn't see or hear much of McFarland this preseason, but...
  8. Amen to that...still can't find decent wings, pizza, subs, or hot dogs anywhere in these parts....
  9. Uh, if that's the case, then why is he no longer on the roster?
  10. Yeah, they stay out of the way of humans for the most part. But this one was hanging out in the yard hose. The bites can be painful, but pretty much the only people who die from the bite are those who are hypersensitive to the venom, which is rare.
  11. Wife called me over, freaked out by a large black spider she almost touched...looked suspicious, so I prodded it a bit with a stick and got it to flip over... Here's what I saw Damn, that'll make me think twice next time I do yardwork...
  12. You do and you'll be giving up all of those free Viagra samples, buddy....
  13. size...not very large, in fact....probably in the 20's. Why LCD? I've been vacillating between LCD and plasma, and although I like the LCD image better, I may end up going with plasma. Size is a highly important issue...need a thin, relatively small (not huge) screen.
  14. I'm looking into getting one this weekend, but I was wondering if any folks out there have some experience they wish to share...one question I have is, do LCD TVs have the same potential problems with stuck or broken pixels as LCD computer monitors, and if so, how do companies deal with this? I'd hate to drop a load on a slick LCD TV only to find a couple of brightly stuck pixels.
  15. The thing I will never understand is how embarrassed some women will be upon exposing their panties like that, and yet many will wear exactly the same amount of material as a bathing suit and think it's perfectly cool. Well, I think it's cool, anyway.
  16. The USA Today article linked earlier had some good info. JAX has a lot of potential but they have some problems to start the season. -Kyle Brady will be out for the first two games, and his backup may also be out. So their 3rd string TE may be the starter in Buffalo. -Fred Taylor suffered a foot injury and hasn't played much in the preseason; who knows how much it will still be affecting him in Week 1. -Reggie Williams, the rookie WR, will be starting as the #2 WR. He hasn't done much in camp, but they are thin at WR. -They have some serious question marks at DE; their two starters totalled 1 sack last year. -Christie was cut, leaving them with a rookie kicker. -They have some decent DBs, but only one of the four is playing the same position as last year. This could be a team to contend with soon, but they still have some things to work out. It will be interesting to see how they come out to start the season.
  17. Not to mention the "Ball Touching An Extremity While the Player Lay Unconsious Out-Of-Bounds Rule"
  18. Is this true?? I had never heard this before.
  19. Finally...the most sane post I've read here in a long time. So much better than all the inane chest-thumping and trash talking!
  20. What, McGahee being the #2 fantasy comeback player?
