I root for whoever is playing the Pats that week. Once the Pats are out of it, I don't give a rat's ass who wins it all.

I doubt there is much to worry about as long as the games are in Foxboro. As long as Pitt stays alive, though, there is still that chance of a road game. Granted, you've been there, done that. But it's new year and a new team, and Pitt is just a similar but much better version of Miami.

Dude, time to breathe deep. I've never wanted Pitt to rest anyone for that last game. I want nothing more than to crush them at full strength with everything on the line. However, the one thing I didn't want to happen is, I didn't want beating them to end up handing home field advantage throughout to the Pats by doing so. That would basically be handing the Pats another Lombardi trophy. To me, this has nothing to do with the last game against Pitt. It has everything to do with making sure Pitt takes care of business for us against Baltimore, and making sure the Pats take care of business for us against the Jets. That's gonna happen now, for sure. And for those thinking the Jets are a lock, well, the chances of St. Louis beating the Jets in week 17 may be slim, but nobody picked the Fins to win this one, right?

As much as it pains me to say it, you gotta give this Pats fan props for hitting a Buffalo Bills board right after a stinging loss on national TV and sucking it up. To a degree, of course. We'll see about january, big guy.

I'm sure you didn't see the Fins beating the Pats either, right?

Well, not that I really disagree with any of that...except even before this game I would have tagged Cleveland as the cream of the crop in the AFC.

Funny thing is, Madden talked about how Brady had told him that pass while sitting on his ass was the dumbest thing he's ever done. Then he goes and does something even dumber this week. Ah yes. Savor the moment.

The best part about that loss is that all Brady had to do is take the sack on 3rd down. Then they would punt, and chances are high the Fins can't drive the length of the field with one timeout against the Pats defense. But Brady goes and tries to be a smart ass, only to get his ass handed to him. Two picks in the last 2 minutes to seal the deal. All that after 3 hours of continuous Brady ass kissing.

What's the big deal? I wanted to see the Pats go down. The way I see it, they will now come out and play hard against the Jets. We want the Jets to lose to them. Plus, the last game against Pittsburgh will likely mean less to the Steelers than it might have. Not that I care much about that, but I sure would like to finish out 10-6.

Damn, there's that "Star Wars" thing in my head again.....

What a comforting thought to know that, even as we all get older and wiser, there will always be some folks who never grow tired of the gay jokes.

It's all possible, and I would love to see that. However, I'm still pulling for NE to beat the Jets. If that happens, then we just need to see the Jets tank on the road against St. Louis for us to have a shot to move ahead of them as well.

The only guy who should be forced to take a cheap shot to the head is Del Rio for chuckling it up on the sidelines afterward.

Don't count Oakland out just yet. They have a lousy record but if you noticed, they played with some real fire against Tenny. Tennessee doesn't have a great record either, but they have been playing lights out lately, so that Oakland win, to me, was impressive. That last JAX game is on the road in Oakland. You just gotta believe!!!

My favorite moment was the brief second after Peters blocked that punt. The thing about that play, it wasn't perfectly visible (at least from where I was sitting in a crowded bar), but I was certain that I saw it blocked. My instantaneous reaction was to shout "Oh yeah!!" really loud, but nobody else I was watching with saw it. So for an instant afterward, I had that moment of uncertainty where I wasn't completely sure I saw what I just saw, because nobody else was cheering. I thought for an instant that I might look like an idiot for cheering about nothing. Particularly since there was a table full of Bengals fans sitting right near us.

I was wearing my Spikes jersey and everybody was congratulating me. Personally, I took a lot of pride in that play. :-)

But what about the space-time continuum? Hasn't anybody thought about the frigging space-time continuum? I mean, come on people.

Houston has been playing very well lately, and Oakland, for some completely unknown reason, is actually looking like a decent team and is playing with some fire. That final game for JAX on the road against Oakland should be a good one.

The Jets don't have to "collapse", so to speak. They play New England next, so a loss there would not be a big surprise. If the Bills win next week at San Fran, then Week 17 should be a blast. The Jets would have huge pressure on them to get a win to make the playoffs, while the Bills would need to beat Pittsburgh (obviously). The Jets would be playing at St. Louis, which is not great news, but a desperate Rams team might surprise us.
