  1. San Diego can always package picks to move up or down, or to offload picks to future years. I wouldn't wory about them, it's hardly a huge problem. New England has shown that you can stockpile lots of top picks and still make out okay. I'm sure plenty of teams will trade a bunch of 2nd and 3rd rounders for this coming draft and 1sts and 2nds from future drafts for one or more of their 1st round picks.
  2. One nice thing is that the Fox announcers called him out on it right after he did it, and mentioned what a classless act it was and they were sorry their cameras were on him as he did it.
  3. The wife saw Oceans 12 and thought it was good. Better if you've seen 11, of course. I don't think I would even attempt to see the Fockers movie.
  4. Minnesota should be creaming teams like they typically do at the beginning of a season. Culpepper and Moss are unstoppable at times. But this is precisely why Minnesota will never win anything of importance.
  5. We've got ours already. But I was just referring to the OL...
  6. Two things I've seen a lot of recently really irk me. Coaches at this level should know better. Well, it doesn't irk me that much since these are coaches of other teams doing this, but you'd think this is pretty basic stuff. 1. Going for two before the 4th quarter. Come on now, how many times does this have to happen before coaches, even coaches of playoff teams for crying out loud, figure this one out? The Jets nearly blew it by going for two at the end of the third. If they just kicked the point, then OT would not have been necessary. 2. Positioning the ball for a final FG attempt. If you're going to run a play to get a couple of yards just to set up a final FG attempt, for God's sake why make the hashmarks even an issue? Run it so the guy gets tackled in the middle of the field and give the kicker the best chance possible. Sure kickers at this level should be making these kicks regardless of the ball's position, but it's the coaches ass if he misses. Marty really blew it by running to the right just before the OT FG attempt. Notice that Herm did the opposite and ran the ball to the middle of the field right before the winning kick. These guys get paid millions...
  7. Perhaps, but about 70% of those would also like another guard and at least one tackle.
  8. That Gaughan article about Kelly was a good one today, brought back some nice memories. But that comment from Kelly really says it all: Just one quality center and a left guard. That's all I'm asking.
  9. Please stop this nonsense about Drew Brees coming in as a free agent. Brees will demand huge money based on his season performance, and we already have a high-priced #1 pick on our team waiting to get in the game. Why spend huge bucks on a guy who will, sooner or later, be the backup? Why would Brees even want to come here, knowing JP is going to take over at some point? Drew Bledsoe would be a nice insurance policy at backup if JP wins the starting spot. I don't know if Bledsoe would ever accept being a backup in his mind, but my gut tells me he won't. If that's the case, he and Travis Henry can pack up and head to some other desperate team willing to pay them to be starters. If there are any, that is.
  10. They can B word all they want, that was a clear elbow to the head and one of the dumbest things I've seen in a while...
  11. We may still be battling for a wild card spot until we prove we can handle New England. I think we'll make that stride next year, but it will always be the "I'll believe it when I see it" kind of thing.
  12. You also left out the key "20-29 yards" stat.
  13. True, although Feely, Reed and Tynes aren't much better. Who's this Todd Peterson dude? Don't know much about him.
  14. True, but it also sounds like a lot of people are unsure of starting next season with a raw quarterback, as it may set us back a la Carson Palmer. Granted, Cincy is probably better off in the long run, but in this league, it's what have you done for me lately...
  15. Sure seems to be heading that way. Just a thought. Carry on.
  16. Crap, if I get DirecTV I don't need one of those as well, do I? What's the installation charge?
  17. You mean this time, and all the times with DirecTV of course...!
  18. Crap. Can I believe you without double checking all of your facts? Please?
  19. Say what you want about the wins against losing teams, but if you're going to start becoming one of the top teams, you have to start somewhere. Beating the teams you're supposed to beat is a good step in that direction. Now we just have to pull it together and start beating the ones that are better than us.
  20. Nobody would, of course, but I think it does say something about TD's comments. Let's face it, Spikes' position as a starter at OLB is unquestioned. No way would TD say "every position is open to competition" with regard to Spikes, should he ever be asked. But he did say that about Bledsoe, which I think does say something...
  21. Good question, I always liked the guy.
  22. Somehow, though, I just can't imagine that, in response to a question about Takeo Spikes' play this year, TD would say "well, you know, he did pretty well but all positions are open to competition next year..."
  23. Yeah, kinda like Lawrence Welk....
  24. If he's smart enough not to listen to advice from a Bills message board why isn't he smart enough not to ask in the first place? Who's Kitna?
  25. That's what you still have after taking that cupful of Nyquil and chasing it with some Jim Beam...
