  1. Bizarre seeing the percentage layouts... Gogetter Conqueror New Wave Puritan Love Bug
  2. Let them both play. He's under contract and if I'm not mistaken, it means saving three million (against three million of dead cap space) if he is cut. They don't figure to need the cap space now nor will they be up against it any time soon. Another year of please, please, please suits me fine.
  3. Willis might actually be asked to do some things that HE CAN DO. The Bills for reasons of their own didn't do much to allow him to play in space. They were not a screen or swing pass heavy offense, choosing instead to treat the man like Earl Campbell, pounding away 20 odd times a game. Willis was asked, reminded and cajoled repeatedly TO HIT THE HOLE. He's better off elsewhere and we're better off with someone who fits the program.
  4. There are certainly a lot of Ole Miss fans on the board these days. Lets just say that whoever Marv picks is going to be a talented athlete with upside. No slam dunks among this linebacker class.
  5. A-Train is in a box. Sign tomorrow for X and have a 15% chance of being the number one. Sign after the Bills lose out on other free agents for 2X and have a 40% chance of being number one. Sure we should lock him up. The dimensions of the cage are still a problem.
  6. Lead singer of Boston -- Captain America -- ??? Rule of three's suggests that fading former icons of Americana should keep their heads up.
  7. His value to the Bills isn't determined until the last viable free agent feature back is signed (Brown ?) . Same goes for whether he wants to be the possible number two here (given the draft) or elsewhere. Bad cat and mouse situation -- if there are any game theorists out there, please compare to the classic "prisoner's dilemma".
  8. We could see corners and a tight end on day one; we are talking about Marv here. Or a fancy WR to hedge against the end of Evans contract. Our idea of depth likely isn't his -- be prepared.
  9. Rosenhaus has been pretty good for Buffalo, if my memory serves. He has delivered players on time and at pretty much the right price despite his entertaining antics other places (anyone remember Warren Sapp's draft day drug fiasco ?). The Bills could have extended McGahee at the not unreasonable price Baltimore paid. Just didn't want to.
  10. Shelton remains unsigned.
  11. The loss of fullback Ovie Mughelli also figures in. Willis is a better toy for Billick than the man he replaces. He showed how good he can be alone in the backfield last year -- unexpectedly solid on blitz pickup.
  12. The fierce response I was too polite to make. Yes, they broke sales records and demonstrated uber-competent musicianship but like the other pace setters of the era ( Frampton Comes Alive ? Fleetwood Mac's Tusk ?) they made wonder just who was buying all those albums. And given the numbers, how could those people possibly be avoided. I kid, but what caught the popular imagination in that time made the seventies the hell they were.
  13. As much as I would like to poke him with a stick, I envy him. I wish I had been spared the sound stylings of Boston.
  14. If we're junk shopping, LaBrandon Toefield has the look of a Bill to me. And it is a shame that this staff found Lionel Gates lacking -- he could shake loose of Tampa should they add a fresher RB.
  15. Duckett is going home. It is poor attempt at fan friendly name recognition by the Lions. He won't help much more than Drew Haddad helped the Bills.
  16. That very thing happened to me on draft day last year -- four years of quietly reading the wall before I started running at the mouth. Killing threads dead since April '06.
  17. What if Lynch goes and Marv picks "his" running back instead of trading out ? I know I've seen something like that somewheres.
  18. Add ten touches -- if they manage a few more first downs. And falling out of love with Sam Aiken type specialty teamers makes 6 at least a possibility. Running backs have the athleticism to excel on ST if they come with the right mindset. Last year felt strange to me with two lead backs who had serious injury histories.
  19. He was just a different kinda' cat... is that such a crime ? If he, or the team, had just a little more success... if he wasn't a threat to maybe foul up training camp with a symbolic holdout... if you could count on the contract year being more breakout than self preservation... if ... if... Again, timing and circumstance. He gets a chance to prove that he is a rare talent, elsewhere. Sad.
  20. The one I want (but so much can go wrong trying to make that pick). T.J. Duckett A-Train Shaud Williams
  21. They are in for a big year. Forty rushes, seventeen first downs and white knuckle fourth quarters. In Jauron we trust.
  22. Beat me to it ... pure Mularkey. This bunch is more likely to use a giant H back rather than a Josh Reed. Now you can get all wet about the USC running back recruit we can't seem to find a position for -- Coy Wire.
  23. The truly disturbing feature of that Raider Nation thread is how subdued it is. Saintly compared to our treatment of Mike Williams or Bennie Anderson. Another example . I expect the Gandy Man to come into some money this week; possibly left tackle money. Teams are that desperate.
  24. Could be wishful thinking. If he hesitates, looking for daylight behind this line, he may be spending a lot of time in the dark.
  25. This is just a strange story. New England gives up a seventh in order to steal a little money back from Wes Welker ? Anyways, giving any kind of money to Welker should be poison pill enough.
