  1. BUMP Well, that made my day... and John Shoop late OC of the Raiders is available...
  2. TKO was very special but he is closer in age to Cowart than Petersen... that tips the 50-50 for me. This deal isn't a steal but it is unexpectedly welcome. This Walker fellow probably can't wrestle Krumrie as well as Tim Anderson can but he has to be a big upgrade in that DL rotation. Grade A.
  3. Thanks for choosing us when you left Cincinnati TKO -- it was a good moment. Get well and tear up the NFC.
  4. Very impressive if this writer is to be believed. I really expected someone else's dog (with fleas) in return for ours. Interesting football trades are rare. Marv is keeping the Donahoe tradition of geeking up the fans alive -- hopefully with better results.
  5. Adequate players will be found to fill out the side... it's tough to be either optimistic or pessimistic about the team in the near term. They will be well coached and scrappy enough to fight to the middle and keep us interested but that draft had better supply playmakers and pro bowlers (at any position) if there is going to be any kind of future. Filling holes for the sake of filling holes is a dead end timing-wise.
  6. What a set up, 32 points for the winner. Expect to fall out of the top twenty without the winner... people will fly right by.
  7. We shall see. There are guys on the roster who may be trusted and some who will be cut by others after the draft that can probably play for the Bills. It's an odd position. Briggs was what, a third rounder ? Maybe Marv and company can deliver an interesting linebacker a little later on day one.
  8. Honestly, it wouldn't suprise me if Marv ignored ESPN and the mocks and deprioritized middle linebacker and running back in order to uncover an unexpected BEAST. He must miss Bruce Smith as much as I do.
  9. Everyone not on the Florida bus, please step aside...
  10. Cigarettes are a bit cheaper across the river...
  11. Does that beast make Schobel/Kelsay money ? I do wonder what a really feared beast would cost nowadays... the names being thrown around in draft threads don't qualify, IMO. I'm with you, Buffalo Mike.
  12. If only he was as good at playing football as playing the villain. Sadly entertaining.
  13. That's a good call. A little decompression time could do wonders and McNair does get banged around some.
  14. Alternative Weeklies Hype Machine Who's thinking about what, where. Who's listening to what, now.
  15. Argo bookeeping move for the distant future -- Joey has a few more failures before he ends up in Toronto. Mike McMahon has been worked out and is dangerously close to washing up on that shore. Maybe Joey can take his job again in '09.
  16. My father's favorite Toronto Argonaut ( and a five time CFL all star). Sadly, according to Wikipedia, the only player to reject enshrinement in the CFL Hall of Fame. His story surely requires more telling than the odd Buffalo News/Toronto Star column.
  17. Was it the summer of '79 maybe that one was either Supertramp or Cheap Trick ? Oh, the shame, the shame...
  18. Very good call on the website, number two on my bookmarks bar. Where I stay, and you shouldn't. Check out the entertainment.
  19. If all it took was a tub of goo we could've moved Aaron Gibson across to the defense last year. Now there was a tub of goo.
  20. Should Langston Walker end up at RT you might need a tight end beside him. Maybe one behind him as well. Heck, a third tight end might come in handy. New doesn't always mean improved.
  21. Aren't you in a mood today...
  22. He was an interesting Argonaut, for what it's worth. Twenty pounds lighter, served the team's scheme, ran well enough when asked. He could have looked lost or uninterested (or packed it in when he broke his arm) but soldiered through a bad situation. For A-Train money he wouldn't be much of a risk.
  23. The fascination with Ohio St. continues.
  24. Somebody knew what the Bills were up to -- one of the fat headed pundits prepared us for the pick, can't remember which. We were aware that the team liked some oddity so much that they might not risk trading back. I am gaining more and more interest in the sites that may have interesting sources (against those that claim to be talent evaluators) if only to avoid the badmouthing of 20 year olds who are far from finished products. Both are woefully inexact but the "source" type are closer to what matters.
  25. I wouldn't dare offend her with a 16... but that tall drinka' water Jodi Johnston.
