  1. KFBD, you were onto this " cash to the cap" thing a month ago... can you not call out this Turner hysteria as a dog and pony show ? There is no possible Turner contract that could satisfy the remaining cash to cap. Turner threads are the worst sort of clutter.
  2. When he was on top of the world at Cincinnati he always floated this as his dream job -- I assume he's a local. Bad break K-State.
  3. I find my " heavy, hooky and clever" in the Queens of the Stone Age and their offshoots these days.
  4. I looked into that. At RT Pashos moved for 5 yrs. 24 million, Petitgout 3 yrs. 15 milion; Stinchcomb stayed (NOrl) for 2 yrs. 7 million --- they were considered best of breed. Interestingly, two marginal Left Tackles that moved are expected to start for around 2 million a year -- Damion McIntosh (KC) and Jordan Black (Hou)... best of luck Mr. Schaub. Walker is a significant investment. He will play right tackle whether we prefer him at guard or not.
  5. Put them in streams that run parallel and co-mingle at times. Sketch probably finds the Smiths in what he listens to today ( lo fi noodlers like the Decemberists ?) where you or I may pick up some thing different in the streams. Everytime I find something new and exciting it inevitably turn out to be nostalgia in the end. Echoes of something or other -- drives me nuts...
  6. A show about "Tinkers" ? That I have to find. EDIT To put the thread back on track. I don't think Zach Miller has a tinker's chance to be successful at this level. Superproductive collegian has maxed out his frame and talents. I don't give a tinker's damn who we draft at running back.
  7. That was the best subject line I've ever seen. Now I can't remember what it was. You Never Know (stranger things have happened) ? But with more compelling mystery.
  8. Those are the numbers I'll be watching. Not a special class according to the mock.
  9. He showed few signs of life on the field.
  10. Don't ever change, Paris.
  11. A sincere, direct response. A holiday held in the highest regard I presume.
  12. This is sort of thing that Oprah helps her guests with from what I understand. Make the Bills go on Oprah.
  13. Broncos aquire that 12 pick, find both Okoye and Branch gone and pick linebacker Willis instead. I have a small stroke. Pittsburgh takes an unhealthy interest in Posluszny at 15 and Marv orders a hot cocoa. At 21, Marv takes the 3rd best CB or the 3rd best LB or the 4th best whatever and this board burns brighter than a Detroit Halloween. Unfortunately it doesn't matter what happens next. GO SABRES !!!
  14. I'll second that. Tougher than herding cats.
  15. Even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while...
  16. No need to really... but Davis would be overkill and neither he nor Harris is going to approach even Fletcher in pass coverage.
  17. OLB Stewart Bradley, Alabama too unathletic for a day one pick ?
  18. You are correct about it not being a need but Carriker is easy to like. A 6'6 290 lb skinny kid who can play anywhere that you need along the line is going to make sense to some one. Probably not Marv, but who knows. Lynch at 12 seems a luxury to me on a team that has trouble stopping the run.
  19. Kansas city selects WR Aundrae Allison, Eastern Carolina Seattle selects TE Scott Chandler, Iowa
  20. Oh , Dr. Seuss what have you wrought !!! (said shaking a fist at the uncaring sky)
  21. Oh well, it is what it is. I should be as fiscally responsible as Ralph, I'd be much better off. If the actual cap room is Clumpy's 19 million then Dockery's guaranteed money alone takes them to their cap. It's not all bad news --because its an artificial construct, it could change next year or it could change tomorrow. Wow, what a sucker I am.
  22. Would the Bills look at a guy like KC's ex Steeler Kendrell Bell for a draft pick ? In real life I mean, if things go sideways trying to draft a linebacker.
  23. You had to do it. You had to remind me that the Bills don't use the same salary cap as the 31 other teams. That they add bonus and other guaranteed money right on top of this year's salary total instead of spreading them over the life of the contract like every other team. It's insane. There is nothing to restructure, nobody has to be released -- they are nowhere near the actual league salary cap. The money is there to be spent if they desire to. Convince Ralph that he doesn't need an artificial budget restraint. Convince him that the league rules governing salaries should be taken advantage of to better ensure a successful team. Tell him for me, Tipster. Tell him to make more money available.
  24. Butler may never get a look at guard -- like Pennington and maybe Walker he is of the tall, long armed and upright variety offensive linemen. They might all be tackles just as it's listed on the depth chart.
  25. I am going to have to find out about that... this 109 million dollar cap (and 29 teams with cap space) has me unsettled about what things should cost. I really thought that Walker had a chance to play guard but if Pennington is a question mark, that goes out the window. If they're serious about interior pass protection or a power running game, Fowler and "X" is nothing more than gamble for this year. Just another team muddling along, making do until next years draft.
