  1. I think it’s Bruce and no one else is close to him. Josh might be working his way into the discussion. Hopefully by the end of his career, we can say the answer is Josh.
  2. Getting back to the original point of this thread…. Corporate entities like to sell fear. Fear is a basic emotion that motivates people and keeps eyeballs glued to screens. How often have we heard “if they win, they are coming for you!” The longer the eyes are on the screens, the more money the corporation makes. Truth is irrelevant in this philosophy when the goal is to feed information to the audience to maximize revenue. For an extreme example, Alex Jones has spent years making money by denying the murder of school children. Thus we often can’t even agree on basic facts of issues, let alone discuss policy of how to address the issue. Years ago, there was usually, consensus on the basic facts. Back then, the arguments were about policy for how to fix the problem. This all stokes fear of the “Other people” in America and pushes division in our country. We are all Americans. We have differences of opinion on the future direction, but at some point, we need to get back to what we all have in common and build our communication from there. Insults to others accomplishes nothing and only stokes further division.
  3. For the most part I think you are right on with this. Most college age kids don’t watch TV news and could care less about the MAGA cause. From what I’ve seen, most of them think it’s all stupid crap. What they really want is someone in office who is younger who they can relate to, which isn’t Biden.
  4. 100% agree that radio, television media and social media are pushing division for purposes of profit. I too have seen that documentary and it’s shocking how tech firms have used psychology to manipulate people on both sides. It is far worse than 15 yrs ago. The Citizens United court decision has also been part of the problem. I am hopeful that the younger generation that has grown up with tech may be less vulnerable to the tactics of division than us older folks. Unfortunately, the attitude of corporate America seems to be: if we are all making money on the politics of division, there is no problem.
  5. Wow… I don’t know where to begin. Hope you are happy. I’ll just say that if something is 70% good and 30% bad, it doesn’t mean it’s horrible.
  6. 1st time a Dem will represent Alaska in like decades. Women are voting for their rights.
  7. Honest question: Other than an emphasis on stopping illegal immigration, what other ways has he transformed the party for the better?
  8. This has always been a problem for Dems. The young people in the party have always pushed for change NOW, while the older members often prefer a more incremental pace. The Democratic Party is a bunch of various groups each of whom wants their issues to be the priority. It has been compared to herding cats. Meanwhile, Republicans are more homogenous and willing to follow the party leaders. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, unions fighting for worker rights and fair pay, public education, civil rights, environmental laws, etc are all principles of American liberalism. I’m not saying liberal policies are the answer for every issue but most Americans have benefited from liberalism. In my opinion, America, at its best, has a mix of liberal and conservative policies with each side pushing the other side to defend and improve their positions on issues. Whenever I’ve been to Toronto, people seem to be happy. Hockey is cool. Calling Canada a hellhole is bizarre.
  9. Well here’s what a few of the documents look like. Hard to mistake these papers with birthday cards from MAGA. Also looks like a hard drive in the top left corner.
  10. Have you seen Biden approval rating among democrats? It ain’t great. Much of the party wants him to be more liberal, but that isn’t his nature and the politics won’t allow that to succeed.
  11. The only sheep I see is the Republican Party. The party orders are to follow Trump or be outcast. There is no tolerance for disagreement with the Orange king.
  12. The whole Trump presidency was a hoax on the Republican party. He was never a true Republican or conservative. His candidacy was all just a way to get back in the limelight and grift people. Now he owns the party.
  13. Come on people… have you no imagination? Here are some additional possibilities. 1. He saved the documents to write his presidential memoirs, or better yet… make it into a movie series Juicing up the story/plot with some top secret info would surely help make it a best seller or Oscar winner. 2. He knew he was going to have lots of free time in his post presidency since he wouldn’t be watching himself on tv all day. He figured he could catch up on some reading by having Melania read classified stories to him. 3. The documents are 15 boxes worth of flattering love letters from Putin. No way is he going to let anyone else see those. 4. He took the docs, knowing the FBI would eventually come to the Lago for them. He master planned it all to hoax the government. Becoming the victim of the big bad government allows him to take the spotlight again, consolidate support, and most importantly… fundraise off of it again. Now he has a mission and reason for his campaign to take back the White House. Revenge! The angrier his supporters are, the better he likes it. That’s all I got….for now. In jest, of course.
  14. He wanted them for his presidential library. Admission is only allowed to full platinum level members at Lago.
  15. McBean did the best they could given a no win scenario. They had to make a decision with incomplete information. They made the right choice cutting him. I hope they find a capable punter/holder. I’m glad this crap is behind us. On to the season and the rams.
  16. That is so true and star athletes better know it. They can throw their career away with one stupid decision.
  17. There is no way this organization is going to defend this guy saying he didn’t know she was underage so we support him. If there is evidence of sex between the two, he is gone. I don’t want this team turning into the Brownies mentality.
  18. Star athletes have been doing this stuff forever. Society and culture are changing and if a star athlete doesn’t know that, they are an idiot. There is the court of law and the court of public opinion. The Bills are operating in the public opinion sphere. I cannot see them defending a player saying, yea he had consensual sex with a minor but he didn’t think she was underage. Sorry, but that will not fly.
  19. Tim, read the affidavit. It is damning evidence. We are talking about thousands and thousands of pages of classified documents. These include the most sensitive information that could cause tremendous harm to national security.
  20. I have considered this. With Trump, there is evidence. The FBI removed dozens of boxes of classified docs. There are court records of why they searched and what they found. For me, that is credible evidence. With Araiza, we don’t have any such evidence that has been publicly released. It certainly appears that an underage girl was raped, she filed a police report and got a rape test the next day, Araiza may have admitted to having sex with the victim, there may be phone recordings, there are probably witnesses, the others listed in the lawsuit might be friends of Araiza, it might have happened at a place where he lived. There is likely evidence about the events that day that we are not yet aware of. Given all of that, it doesn’t look good for him. The Bills will be forced to make a decision with incomplete knowledge of the events that day. I would probably cut him, but I can’t say he is guilty and I can’t say he is completely innocent.
  21. For myself, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, flies like a duck, quacks like a duck and swims like a duck, I feel reasonably comfortable calling it a duck. I don’t need a DNA test to tell me it’s a duck. What standard of proof is needed? Does Trump need to go on trial to determine guilt or innocence for you?
  22. No bojo. He was holding for Green Bay kicker last year. That’s why Crosby had a down year. I think Matt will be looking for work tomorrow and we will be looking for a punter.
  23. Why were the documents removed from Washington and not secured and at his country club? A lot of sketchy foreign nationals have had access to this club. Our intelligence agencies will probably never reveal what they discover. They don’t advertise what they do.
