Ok, now what would Trumps answer to that question be? Surely, the self proclaimed greatest president ever, the healthiest man on the planet, the man with the sharpest mind in America, who uses all the best words, who aces his mental exams, would say he has no weakness. And 47% of America would believe it.

Here’s another weird one - Trump feeling the need to work at McDs because Harris worked there when she was young. This is his “Look at me, I’m normal and can do that too moment”. This is too nutty for a movie 🤣

Criticizing the supreme leader of the cult is not allowed. To do so risks excommunication. It’s a cult. The orange idiot can’t do anything wrong in their eyes. That’s why the platform of the party is “whatever Trump wants”. I think Harris has some stupid economic policies but compared to the idiocy of massive tariff taxes on Americans and continuing to explode the debt under Trumpism, it’s an easy decision to vote for her.

What’s weird is the MAGA fan base who invent “macho” looking images of Trump to boost the manliness of him. The reality is there is nothing manly about him. He is not faithful to his wife(s), he never did anything tough in his life, he was born with a gold spoon, he was given many millions to start a career, he doesn’t protect the weak, he doesn’t care for others, he doesn’t respect women, he never accepts responsibility, he can’t change a flat tire, he can’t cook. He knows lots about makeup, hair styling and fashion. He is about the most helpless man imaginable because he has depended on others to serve him his entire life. Yet in MAGA land he is the icon of masculinity. And to top it off, the orange idiot promotes the ridiculous images because he knows how feckless he is and the images make him feel better about himself. That is weird.

Giants just signed a kicker who missed two field goals yesterday. Not sure if there is anyone decent out there to sign. -

Problem is defensive coordinators have no respect for our outside receivers so they are clogging the middle of the field. We either need to beat single coverage on the outside to make them pay, or Brady needs superior scheming and player execution to beat disadvantageous numbers in the short game.

Trump is incentivizing Putin to meddle (again) in 2024
Andy1 replied to BillStime's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Trump is a total traitor. He’s doing personal private calls to a principal enemy of America while he has boxes and boxes of classified documents with him. While President, his calls and meetings with Putin were also private, which is also a breach of presidential protocol. If he walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, he’s a duck. The MAGA response is that Russia isn’t an enemy of America. The only reason they think this is because the orange idiot tells them. If Obama was doing secret calls with our adversary, the MAGA media would instantly call him a traitor. Dictators are good, democracies are bad in trump land. -
Absolutely correct! As storms become stronger, there will likely be more damage inland from flooding. Flooding and extreme heat waves are deadly. This is why our national security agencies have considered climate change a threat to national security for years. The damage Helene caused was catastrophic to many areas. Now consider that we are only beginning to see the impacts of climate change. We are on the beginning of the impact curve. Now America gets to vote. The orange idiot considers climate change to be a hoax. Harris and Dems are trying to address solutions to this complex issue. Trumpers and their Project 2025 wants to slash FEMA, eliminate federal flood insurance and get rid of NOAA and its free weather forecasts. https://www.eenews.net/articles/how-project-2025-would-treat-helene-survivors/

So the dream of MAGA world is a great renaissance in traditional American manufacturing. We’re going to make all our cars, furniture, tools, clothes etc. here so we don’t need trade or relationships with other nations. So who is going to work in all these factories? Every factory I know of has a difficult time finding and keeping workers. Most factories I know of rely on lots of immigrant labor. Most American kids don’t want factory jobs doing repetitive labor for 8 hours a day. Americans have voted with their pocket books. They want imported consumer goods because they are cheaper and sometimes higher quality than American made products. No amount of MAGA tariff propaganda will change that. The exception I would say is critical medical, food and national defense related products should be produced here.

Trump was angry and unhinged throughout the debate. That is the over riding impression I had. Harris answered the questions with substance. Trump responded with angry concepts, like his health care plan.

Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills 2nd Half Thread

Shakir seems to have the most improbable TDs, but he scores! -
So today Trump’s talking points are: Public schools are performing sex change surgeries during the school day. I guess they do it during lunch break or in study halls. He’s going to change the 25th amendment so Harris could be impeached. Russia is being treated so unfairly. His brain is mashed potatoes. Guy has no idea what he is saying.
-
And today we can add former VP Dick Cheney to the list of Republicans for Harris. I was never a big fan of his but I give him credit for announcing his public support for Harris and recognizing the threat in the alternative. I’m still waiting to see a list of prominent Dems who are supporting Donald.

New school year =new school shootings!

This sad story is about parental responsibility. A lot of kids have crummy childhood circumstances. Most don’t think about doing something like this, but then most aren’t given a gun at that age. If the kid doesn’t have access to the gun, he doesn’t fantasize about the act. What type of father gives a kid an AR? When we were 16 we had bolt action .22 rifles for rabbit hunting. School shootings didn’t exist. The kid knew the AR is for killing people. Probably thinks that’s why Dad gave it to him, so he could use it. Kids father is responsible. -

Need safe storage laws, then lock up the parents if the kid uses their gun. -
Well, today we can add Liz Cheney to the list. This endorsement might help persuade some Nikki Haley voters to switch over.

Young American men in decline
Andy1 replied to Joe Ferguson forever's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This is an interesting topic that spans across party lines. The issue is real but I suspect there are multiple causes. People now spend more time in internet communities rather than participate in groups, clubs, attend church, etc where they can meet partners. Some women and men are just very picky with the attitude of “I’m not settling for anyone unless they meet all my requirements.” Many people have superficial standards based upon people’s appearance or financial wealth. Instagram images of perfect people may influence this. American culture does not celebrate the academic achievements of young people. Sports achievements are what we celebrate as a culture in our high schools and colleges. Meanwhile, the high school nerds are ruling the world. I wonder if this young male problem is present in other cultures which place higher emphasis on academic achievement. Obviously as women have more options for employment and careers, they no longer feel a need to be attached to a man for financial support. America has a culture of independence so women are doing what they need to do to not be dependent upon men. I know alot of men who earn less than their professional wives. It’s not a problem if they understand each other. Young people often move away from home for jobs in distant cities where they are on their own. Student loan debt, stupidly expensive cars, increased housing prices all make it hard for young adults. Child care, if you can find it, is crazy expensive. If you are worried about your bills, you may not be as interested in finding a partner. As Scott mentions in the video, most of the wealth accumulation has gone towards older generations. We need policies that help all young people. We are leaving our kids with some crappy issues to deal with as we refuse to address hard issues like the federal debt. It’s hard to think that they will be better off financially than previous generations.
