  1. Forest cleaning is helpful in forests. I don’t see forests in these videos if the fires. These are suburban areas. The problem is communities and developers have promoted housing developments in fire prone areas with poor planning and infrastructure to deal with events like this. Evacuation routes are insufficient, water resources are insufficient, building codes are insufficient, zoning codes are poor. Communities may have been built in the 50s during a different climate. Climate is changing and society also needs to change ir the problem will repeat. There is no easy answer to stop fire hurricanes.
  2. I am not arguing this one in particular because until it is over we won't know if it arson, or something preventable. The argument I am having is why Cali is annually in this situation. The State is not doing enough to prevent fires in general. If the State did it's job 90% of fires would not start out there More can always be done. More should be done. The cost to live in high risk areas like fire prone environments or coastal hurricane vulnerable areas should go up. The rest of society shouldn’t have to fund the insurance and recovery for these types of events. If only there were scientists who could have told us that these types of events would be more likely to happen…. hmmm.
  3. You all are in a stupid argument about what Cal did or didn’t do. The fires are burning residential areas. Forest cleaning isn’t the issue with fires in this area. Nothing is stopping fires with winds as strong as they have had. Air support can’t fly due to the winds. Storm intensity is fueling fire intensity combined with drought. If people want to live on top of each other in those areas, they should eliminate all burnable vegetation in yards and along streets and have non burnable roofs that don’t catch fire when embers land on them.
  4. The Palisades fire is reportedly 16,000acres in size and still growing. For perspective, that’s an area equivalent to 5 miles x 5 miles in size. Just horrific.
  5. Not much you can do to stop fires under hurricane force winds with that much fuel to burn. Future change needs to be in infrastructure improvements and building codes for structures and vegetation management. Insurance companies will respond as they need to maintain corporate profits. People and real estate industry will scream about freedom and over regulation. That’s the price of living in sunshine paradise. Looks a lot like the Hawaii fires last year.
  6. I think the idiot’s rants on Canada and Greenland are about his strategy to destroy NATO. Offend the NATO allies so much to make the international politics toxic and destroy the relations moving forward.
  7. Donnie dreams of having and using power like Putin does. We are about to discover how much the republicans agree with this type of anti democracy governing.
  8. It’s inexplicable to me how Elam seems so unaware and unable to turn his head around. He has the physical skills to do it. He has the time in the system with good coaching. Seems like a problem between the ears. Anyhow it counts in the win column and let’s beat the Jets.
  9. That was almost a KC style win.
  10. Need to get Cook and Johnson involved in the offense running and passing
  11. Too many low percentage pass plays
  12. Shakir should have caught that one
  13. NE is probably going for it here. They have nothing to lose.
  14. This D cannot let them march 99 yds on this drive. If they give up any points on this drive it will be a massive fail.
  15. Celebrating that as a punt is dumb. This offense can do better.
  16. Why was the practice squad guy running/diving towards Dell’s knees? Will be tough for him to explain to team.
  17. Vikes are stealing our white out look.
  18. What a game! We are watching the most talented QB to ever play this game. We will never see a better one in our lifetimes. What a time to be a Bills fan. Appreciate it.
  19. I can’t watch them anymore. No one has such f luck as this team. Every game they play is like this.
  20. Our guy is literally a TD scoring machine. Amazing player.
  21. Bean and McDermott have built a team that can win in any weather conditions or style of play. Love it!!
  22. Kickers all over the league are missing this year
  23. Of course not! This story is about so much much more than a squirrel 🐿️. This poor innocent squirrel represents the persecution of all the good men and women who never use pronouns he/him, they/them after their name. The squirrel never used pronouns. If the government could murder the squirrel, they could murder all the good pronounless people too. The story of poor peanut is the story of massive government overreach into our homes. If the black booted government thugs could take peanut out of his home, they could take any of our squirrels, chipmunks or mice out of our homes. I think I hear something scratching the ceiling in my attic. Who do I call? Poor peanut represents the struggle of all hard working blue collar people against the big bad government machine that is trying to keep them down. Rage Against the Machine! How dare they! Violence against one rodent is violence against all rodents! Squirrels, chipmunks, mice and rats unite! Together they can stand strong against government tyranny! Maybe the story is about how stupid people are to get so excited over nothing. Meanwhile Peanuts owner gets his moment of fame to capitalize on it all with his go fund me to get rich. I doubt he is really sad about how this turned out. At this rate, he is going to be invited to the White House in January when Trump moves in. Trump will probably name him Director of the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
  24. Stefanik and Zeldin seem relatively sane and reasonable. We shall see what they do.
