  1. Hopefully Poyer can muster fresh legs for tonight. I wonder about his conditioning while he's been off, it's hard for aging athletes to adjust to their new reality when systems start failing.
  2. Brady's system is exquisite when everything works. When it doesn't, he goes to the too-cute-by-half stuff, then sticks with it.
  3. bro looks lost out there. nice preseason story but thats it
  4. Yup. But don't worry, we'll make up for it with wave after wave of C+ defensive lineman, each one more mediocre than the last
  5. What I don't get about McD is, what is his specialty? I thought he was supposed to be some defensive guru, but he very obviously is not. Our O changes with each OC, and now we're a dink and dunk running team, which is fashionable now I guess? But clearly that's not his thing either. It's very definitely not discipline, because that's completely lacking. Special teams have never been better than average under him either. Is it just that he can take a bad team and bootstrap them into the playoffs, but the conference is his hard ceiling? I'll eat my had if he does that. That's what's needed.
  6. I'm looking forward to his presser today, and expect to hear "It's hard to win in the NFL"
  7. Exactly 1 player on the Bills is elite, and when he plays pedestrian football, the bills look like a 8-9/9-8 team.
  8. He had a good game. Diggs had a great game. Pats played with purpose, the Bills sleep walked through it. Im disgusted by the penalties, it was like a preseason game
  9. No. He builds mentally soft teams that have occasional flashes of brilliance but it's just not a sustainable model for an 18 week season + playoffs.
  10. The pats aren't awesome. That's exactly the point. They're a .500 team, but obviously the first decent team the Bills have faced. Atlanta is another 2-2 team. The Bills should be favored, though I'm not going to bet this game. We'll see if this is the Bills typical early-mid season malaise, or if the league has evolved while the Bills didn't.
  11. The Pats controlled the rhythm of the game almost from the get go. I'm to the point in my long suffering fandom that I can predict by the 3rd drive if they're going to win or lose pretty reliably, and given all the long faces and undisciplined play/penalties/bad decision making, it was clear that the Bills couldn't have been any less interested in the game. I said something similar back in maybe 22 when they went through a swoon, and assumed then that there was a rot in the locker room, which their was. Too bad that rot came back and stole the underpants from our entire secondary over and over again last night. Anyways, the Bills lack discipline, and that comes from the coach. He should have been fire and brimstone with them at the half but you know he sat down and gently spoke of his feelings instead. What a mess. clap clap.
  12. Brady is already working on a 10-men-in-motion formation so complex in execution that it requires players to take a 15 hour online training course just to grasp the vocabulary. Pats wont know what hit em
  13. It's insufficiently gimmicky for Brady to invest in
  14. yup, was great to see him out there for a bit But he's toast. My least favorite part of all this is we're going to draft entirely D next year again, and get by with scrap heap WRs forever I guess.
  15. Keon isn't a very good starting NFL receiver, let's just get comfortable with that. The next issue is that the offense is just so gimmick heavy, and watching the cavalcade of penalties made me realize that this group may simply not be smart enough to keep up with Brady's galaxy brain schemes. Even Allen didn't seem to know where to go with the ball, and seemed to actually lose interest in the game. Really a shtshow all around.
  16. Watching Diggs make that sideline grab last night made me wistful for Gabe. I know all the criticisms but if our #2 guy is struggling to get to 50% and is struggling to hang onto the ball. We have no downfield threat, and no downfield passing game. We've taken a generational talent and turned him into captain checkdown.
  17. It takes a great coach to win a SB. Vrabel might be a great coach. We know McD isn't, and has an unfortunate record of showing up small in the biggest games
  18. That we keep doubling down on the same strategies and expecting them to turn out different is incredibly frustrating.
  19. I'm not sure we've got the kind of players on O that are going to succeed in the High Gimmick Offense. Obviously WAY too many penalties last night, and one of the reasons for that is Brady is asking guys to do stuff outside their skillset. Let's ease off the 3 players in motion double reverse hidden dragon BS and try just running football plays and see what happens. The other thing that I took from last night, and really most of this season, is that there's no longer a downfield passing game. We have a generational talent at QB and the gameplan looks like something you could plug Mac Jones into with 80% of the same success. I hate it, honestly. At least Alabama played a solid game Saturday.
  20. Given where he was drafted I expected more out of him. Excuses will be made until the end of time for a C+ receiver
  21. Of course the Bills don't have a starting wr to throw to so hard to say really what a sht show
  22. Oh well shame we can't play the Jets and saints every week. And now that we know Baltimore is actually trash I'm not sure what we actually have here
