  1. Or RG3. Either of those guys would be dramatically preferable to Johnny Football. I hate to say that because he was a force of nature in college.
  2. There were other 1 loss teams besides MSU and OU edit: this also helps my point; 1 loss teams NOT in the SEC got killed in the playoffs.
  3. http://www.mcubed.net/ncaaf/tvc/sec/acc.shtml It's not 'insecure' to point out that the SEC is a harder conference than the ACC. Playing in a harder conference increases your chance of a loss. Do you think Clemson would have gone undefeated in the SEC this year? Minimally, they would have had to beat both Florida and Alabama to get into the playoffs. There's a reason why Alabama with 1 loss was still a top 4 team, while other teams with 1 loss weren't considered, unless you think that the whole playoff system is built on SEC chauvinism.
  4. Thank you, I shall disregard
  5. Saban said they practiced that exact play every day since last June waiting for the perfect moment, and that the players were warned not to smile as to not give away what was about to happen
  6. God you're dense. A lot of Watson's yards came on either broken plays, or designed runs. That was nice, and looks great on the stat sheet, but is going to get your QB killed. Yes, Clemson played a great game and scored a lot of points. No, I did not expect Alabama to 'wipe the floor' with Clemson. There have been plenty of people claiming that Clemson was the better team, when that's not how this works. I think some posters here are so starved of good QB play from following the Bills that they look at it as a more significant factor in winning games than it really is. Watson played a fantastic game, except the interception, and a few bad throws that should have been intercepted (and since we're seeing lots of what ifs, what if those were intercepted?), but it wasnt enough, and Clemson, had they had more balance, might have won the game. Sorry if you cant understand all those words.
  7. I really liked the 92 team for the way they dismantled Miami in the Championship when nobody gave them a chance. The playin game on that (SEC Championship) against Florida was one of the best football games I've ever seen, college or pro. Maybe that team lacked in superstars (not sure any of those guys ever did anything in the NFL - I remember the 2 DEs were high draft picks but were pretty middling) but as a team they were fierce. Clemson was a great team from an average conference. They'll be back next year in all likelihood, and maybe this time Dabo will tell his kickoff team to cover the field, and his D to cover the TE. And don't let a RB run for 158 yards and 3 TDs.
  8. Thanks for the lecture, dad. My response was originally to this idea that somehow Alabama stole the game, and Clemson got ripped off. Alabama used their strengths, and exploited Clemson's weaknesses, to win the game. There is more, afterall, to winning a football game than flashy QB play. it was a great game, but started to become clear in the 4th quarter that Alabama was going to grind them down, which is what happened. I also agree with the other poster - if Clemson played Alabama's schedule this year, in the SEC, they might not have been a top 10 or 20 team.
  9. Instead of calling himself a miracle worker, do you think he could call himself a....saint?
  10. Yet, Clemson lost. Weird, that. When they absolutely needed a couple scoring drives to keep up with Alabama, they couldn't. Without the garbage time touchdown by clemson (Alabama D playing in prevent to make Clemson chew clock rather than a quick strike), the game isn't as close as the score indicated. Clemson had a one dimensional offense and when your only weapon is your QB, an INT is, in fact, a pretty major mistake, especially when the other team doesn't make mistakes. The fact is, Watson HAD to play lights out in order for Clemson to be in this game. He had perhaps the best statistical game of any QB in the championship game ever, and still lost.
  11. Good post. Coker needs a situation like AJ McCarron or even our own Tyrod Taylor where he can go sit behind an established vet and work on his game. He has the size and smarts, but needs more experience. Sure, you could say the same about EJ 3 years ago, and be right. Perhaps if EJ had been able to sit behind someone and not get thrown to the wolves, he might have turned out better.
  12. I agree to the extent that Watson played a remarkable game. My point is and was that he was going to get killed out there, and he'll end up like RG3 in the NFL with 2 torn up knees. He had a great game, but threw an INT, and several others that should have been intercepted, killing drives, and leaving Clemson at the mercy of their horrible special teams, the difference in the game.
  13. A year from last night. I predict another heroic Alabama victory
  14. Coker was barely sacked all year, in a conference chock full of good Ds. He was the 2nd choice at FSU behind Jameis Winston, which isn't exactly the same as not being a good QB. Alabama usually requires a certain level of game management from their QBs, and only the occasional big play. Coker delivered in spades all year, I'm not sure why you think he's no good, except maybe you lost money on the game last night
  15. huh. Coker had a higher QBR than Watson, Derrick Henry outrushed the whole Clemson team (including Watson!) 158 to 145. OJ Howard set a championship game record with 207 yards receiving. if running what amounted to the Doug Flutie Broken Play Offense is what you define as better, than that's fine, but frankly the rate that Clemson players were getting knocked out of the game they wouldnt have had anyone left in another quarter of play. Watson could barely get up and clearly had hurt both his knees. They left it all on the field for sure.
  16. you're correct. Clemson clearly is a great team and must be hands on favorites for next year. They were fantastic all season but ran out of luck/guts/time last night. The most amazing stat they quoted was that they had won 51 games in a row where they lead entering the 4th quarter.
  17. Those weren't isolated incidents. On at least 2 of the sacks of Coker, he missed seeing WIDE OPEN receivers who would have had easy TDs and the Alabama D dropped 3 interceptions. My opinion is that Alabama would have scored another 20 points easily if Coker was on his normal game, and the normally surehanded D didnt have the dropsies. Clemson has been susceptible to big plays, it's not like Saban didn't know that. If your contention is that Clemson beat themselves, then every team who has ever lost beat themselves.
  18. On the other hand, if Coker had realized he was in a game before the 3rd quarter, it might not have been so close. Clemson got the benefit of a REALLY flat performance for the first half.
  19. I'm a Bama fan (and alumnus!) and follow them closely. Ragland had a tough game, most of the year he was stellar, wouldnt be suprised if he was playing hurt last night. He's a good LB for rex's system, it would not surprise me, if RR fell to our spot, that we draft him. OTOH, i'm very against overdrafting players because of the quality of team they were on. Alabama's D made all those guys look better. The point about Henry is good too. I mean, he's a physical specimen, but when his first hole/play design blows up, he's not proven himself great at the 2nd cut or improvising. Frankly Kenyon Drake might be a better pro back if he can keep his limbs attached to his body. Overall it was a really great game, easily the best game I've watched this year college or pro.
  20. You know, it's not like they were a mile off. If they just regress to the mean in penalties and injuries, they probably win a couple more games and make the playoffs.
  21. I was going to say for a tube of jock itch creme and a football signed by Joe Montana
  22. Dorquemada's bold 2016 offseason prediction: Bills mortgage next 5 years top draft pick in order to select a slate of high motor / scrappy white guy CBs/Ss secondary prediction: Rex hires his son in some capacity for which he is completely unfit I guess those aren't so much bold as overwhelmingly obvious and likely
  23. The Bills gave up in the 1st quarter of that game, it's no surprise that they were all putting forth minimum effort. It's 100% on the coach, if you cant keep the players in a game then YOU are the problem. "There's no quit in this team" lol yeah right fatso
  24. we've seen 'uncatchable' redefined the last couple years. definitely cant catch if you dont try
  25. He's a Ferrari alright. Ultra high performance, but spends more time in the garage than on the road. He did look like he gave up on some of those throws yesterday, that over throw in the endzone for one
