Easy for you to say. Your job is not on the line. A general problem for rebuilding teams is that what’s good for the long term health of a franchise is often at odds with what a HC and GM need to do to keep their very highly-paid jobs.

Cut it out you guys, or I’m gonna turn this car around and go right back home!

And then most of them do nothing when defenses start scheming.

Preseason Week 2 Bills at Bears - Game thread
Low Positive replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Most of you guys should be banned from watching preseason games. -
No such thing. There are too many variables. The only time this works is if a team is a QB away. Like if you put Josh Allen on the Vikings. Even then, NFL football is too closely matched for guarantees. But a game wrecker like a healthy Aiden Hutchinson would be one heck of an add to this roster. Bengals tried that last year. Got them 9 wins with losses like 44-38.

I guess seeing if a bust can break out with a change of scenery is a wise move, but Metchie has played 29 NFL games since he came back from his injury and has 415 total yards with only one career TD.

Burrow is part of the incompetence. Any sane organization would have let Higgins walk and used that money to sign Hendrickson. But Burrow demanded that the Bengals keep the band together, even knowing the self-imposed financial rules under which the Bengals operate. -
If only they could find a way to get Goodell to enforce a rule that teams are only allowed to play their 2nd- and 3rd-string players against Miami, they might be on to something.

Come on! Your proper response was, "all that money just to bring back the same team that lost to the Chiefs? Nice job Beane and McClappy!"

Somebody will find a way to spin this as a negative in 3...2...1...

Because this is TBD, the most negative message board in the NFL, I feel contractually obligated to point out that Zach Wilson beat the Bills twice in regular-season games. Now that that's out of the way......

Some of the ones for the approaches to Runway 23 would be of interest to TBDers and WNYers: https://aeronav.faa.gov/d-tpp/2508/00065RRZ23.PDF -

Thats really cool. Thanks for the actual info. I had no idea. I've never flown a plane, but I am an academic librarian so I tend to look up anything I encounter. I usually learn enough about everything to get myself in trouble. It's an occupational hazard. I have learned since I posted this that Buffalo has waypoints named WNNGS, EFFCT (I assume for lake effect) and FOTBL. LAX has one named KOBEE, and CVG (Cincinnati) has ones named NXHAL (for Joe Nuxhall) and CRSLY (for Crosley Field). I'll look up Washington later. There is a whole clever world hidden there that most of us have no idea exists but it's all on the public Internet for those curious enough to seek it out. -
My wife is flying into O'Hare today from Istanbul and I have been tracking the flight on FlightAware. I noticed that the flight path was called FNT WYNDE3. A little Googling led to me to the information that there are three primary approaches into O'Hare (North over Sault Ste Marie, A bit further south over the small lake Erie town of Greenbush, MI, and one over Flint (hense the FNT)). But looking at the flight paths and the names of the waypoints, something jumped out at me. A bunch of them are misspelled names of old Bears players and coaches Just after Sault Ste Marie is waypoint GAULT There is a waypoint DITCA There are both WLTER and PAITN waypoints Between the two Sweetness points, there is waypoint RHIVR I'm probably missing something. In case anyone wants to nerd out on this, here is the approach path plan from the FAA: https://aeronav.faa.gov/d-tpp/2508/compare_pdf/00166wynde_cmp.pdf

Going to indulge in one of mine tonight. Just bought night session tickets for the Cincinnati Open. Wanted to go today to see Alcaraz and Coco, but it's 90F and humid and I'm not about to spend a day in the sun. Just as an aside, what's really cool about the Cincinnati Open (1000 level for both the men and women) is that they have free parking. You can pay for closer parking but I'll take the steps and save the money while my body allows. They also sell souvenir cups with free ice refills for $5. So I get to see world-class tennis (Zverev vs Brandon Nakashima is one I'll see) for $50 all in.

Exactly. The Bears' broadcasters said that Ben Johnson held a 50-play mock game prior to the preseason game. Caleb needs to learn the offense, not prove himself by running vanilla plays against a vanilla defense (no disrespect to vanilla, the greatest ice cream flavor). Also, Cowheard is just trying to create controversy to generate clicks.
