Cowherd killing Bills coaching in his monologue
Low Positive replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cowherd is from the Skip Bayless school of bad takes. -
Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme

What he said before the game is that goal line snaps are hard because the entire D is crashing the line and the player that the center has to block is on him before the ball is even out of his hand. It takes a lot of practice to finish the snap before engaging in the block and a guard has no experience doing that. -

I don’t know why they did that in the Titans games, but Eric Wood said in the pre-game show that goal line snaps under center are the hardest ones. -
@IronMaidenBills has me going through old Pats seasons and every year except the undefeated one there were close regular season losses during the Brady/Belichick years. And in that undefeated year, they lost the SB by 3 to a 10-6 Giants team. So yes, the greatest coach in NFL history does lose “these types of games.” All teams do. If close losses didn’t happen NFL football would be boring like Alabama-Citidel games.

Thanks for telling me. I’ve been holding my breath since Dorsey smashed the Surface. 🤣 Just for reference, in 2014 the Pats lost to Miami week one and then 41-14 to a non-playoff Chiefs team in week four. They won the SB that year. Regular season losses happen to good teams.

2020 was full of 4th quarter comebacks and close wins. Same coaching staff. -
Our TE was in the locker room hooked up to an IV and we were playing with the third string center. We were in shotgun because goal line snaps under center are the hardest snaps. Eric Wood talked about this before the game. The Dolphins were rotating in defensive players while Josh was exhausted. I don’t think he could have beaten anybody to the edge at that point.

Chiefs..Bills…Chargers…who had the roughest loss

Bates had a head injury and Kumerow had an ankle injury. The rest were all heat exhaustion. -

Somebody pointed out that Morse being out was huge because he calls the coverages pre-snap. -

How much depth do you think a team can have at any position group when your gameday roster is limited to 48 players? We were down to our 3rd string center and had backups playing out of position across the line. No team can withstand that. Actually, Josh knew the rules to a T yesterday when he didn’t clock the ball after bobbling the snap at the end of the first half. I looked up the rule, and if you don’t immediately spike the ball it is a fumble. -
I think there were fans, but I read that because the Dolphins don’t use tents that the road team cannot use them because it would give them an unfair advantage. I found a reddit thread with fans from a lot of teams talking about how their team played their worst game of the year in Miami because of the heat. Bill Belichick has talked about how the heat in Miami is the biggest home field advantage in the league. It’s due to the stadium design and it’s BS.

OP should have added the Broncos to this list. They were supposed to be a QB away from contention. They spent a lot of money to get a QB, to whom they’re now tied to for a long time. Yesterday they lost 7-5 at home. Let’s ride! edit: I was wrong. I didn’t make the end of the game. Apparently the Broncos made a heroic comeback and all is right in Broncos Country. Let’s Ride! -

The Chargers got crushed by the Jags at home. The Chiefs lost to a winless Colts team. The Broncos, who spent a boatload of money on a QB this off-season lost 7-5 to SF. All of those are much worse than losing to a hungry divisional opponent on the road, in the heat, and with an unreal amount of injuries. I think the Chiefs and Bills will be OK. The Chargers and Broncos have serious questions. Outside of Bates and Kumerow, the guys that left the game yesterday were due to heat. They'll be back next week. Morse, Poyer and Oliver were close to going this week so they’ll probably be good after an additional week. We’ll be OK. -

One of the reasons that the Dolphins won today is that they treated it like a playoff game and we treated it like week 3. They played guys that we would have sat. Terron Armstead didn’t practice all week and played with a bad toe. Little kept coming back into the game although he was obviously hurt. Tua came back in like it was a playoff game. And they still should have lost if our guys could have stopped cramping. Now they have to go to Cincinnati to play a newly confident Bengals team in 4 days. Good luck. -

They played their hurt players. We rested ours. I think McDaniel wanted to get a division lead to reset the culture. -
