What do the Bills have to build around for the future

Three cheers for continuity! Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray! -
I think I have finally misplaced my "funny" when it comes to this team.

Different View of the New O-Line

I don't see Wilfork in the game book on nfl.com for defensive stats. In game 17 last year he had 4 tackles/4 assists. Unless that's a mistake in stats collecting, I'd say we have improved. -
Probably think they don't need to spend the money...

BREAKING NEWS: SCHONERT FIRED
4BillsintheBurgh replied to thebandit27's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I went to the Pittsburgh game and the thing that stuck out to me was the lack of execution by the offense. It really started with TE, believe it or not there were times that Lee was open but TE doesn't have the experience to let the ball go. Given TE's development, Turk had to realize TE just wasn't getting the no huddle and it was too much for him to manage. I hope they work on execution with a smaller set of plays (as someone else mentioned) between now and the beginning of the season. Because as much as some people want to talk about "the right play call" it really comes down to execution every time. The particular play call can be easier or more difficult to execute depending on the defense, but in the end the team has to execute consistently. As stated many times by many people, a good team can run or pass ball when the other team is expecting it and that is about winning all the matchups on the field. Does this help the team execute better? We'll see. If nothing else it lights the fan base up. -

Jason Peters Interview on ESPN.com

Similar thing happened to James Harrison and the Steelers? The steelers dropped him twice and Baltimore dropped him once, it happens. All he's done is go on and win the Defensive mvp. Hines Ward was not in camp a few years ago but he got his deal done. The chapter is closed, but the book is still open. Can't wait for the next chapter. -
Jason Peters Interview on ESPN.com

I don't know much in depth here, I do have opinions though. I have been around Pittsburgh for 25+ years now and I see how an organization like the Steelers or Penguins that is committed to winning behaves. I also have seen how the Pittsburgh Pirates have treated their players. Really the way the NFL is run now, playing for an undervalued contract is unprofessional. If JP had gotten hurt such that he was unable to continue his career do you think the Bills would have paid him his full contract? I also would state that he got what he wanted, didn't he? And it's not like the Eagles are the Raiders. I have never heard anything from JP other than he wanted to be paid appropriately for the position he was playing. The question was where in the pecking order of that position do you put him. The Bills did make a great commitment to him when he first went from TE to RT but nothing when he went from RT to LT, and from what I can tell that's where the issue is. He played what, 2 years at LT before contact issues came to a head. My point is that when the organization does not value winning first, the players sense that and look even more toward the financial side. There aren't hometown discounts from the top players. I thought JP's comments were very telling about some of the attitude in the locker room. This all sucks for the fans, but it's what we have. You can put as much blame on JP as you like, or talk about how he is going to balk once his contract gets outdated, but unfortunately for us he played the game and in the end he won and we lost. -

Peters treated the Bills the way he was treated by them - concerned about the business side first, winning second. Good for him that he is able to experience a different team management style and team attitude. -
Why Dockery became expendable.......
4BillsintheBurgh replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? What do you think of Chambers' effort on the play? How about Oman's? A clip like this shows why sacks are not a recorded stat. Whose fault is it? If all three guys come, how does the blocking scheme pick them up? How about two of them? When someone talks about an oline "gelling" they mean that someone on the line will pick this type of rush up. Either Chambers slides over or Oman steps up or Dock blocks him. I agree that one of them need to block the guy, that's for sure. Look for more of this kind of stuff in 2009 as our young line begins the learning process. -
O'Brien was in Cleveland when April was in Pit, so they saw each other quite a bit. Around the time Eric Metcalf was on Clevelands team, some time in the 90's. He also coached in Car with Steve Smith returning kicks. O'Brien didn't do great in Den last year after taking the prior year off. It will be interesting to see what he brings to the table, he'll have a pretty good starting point as far as talent.

That dude was going nowhere. Levitre had the clamps and a lot of pounds on him.
-
Maybe the Bills can discuss the Mike Williams story with them. Don't let this happen to you! (and us)
-
Sorry, I'm over it seems like he is too. Semantics, I'm okay that he's correct.
-
I'm just looking for his thoughts, that's all. Don't care about Oakland, Al is obviously way too close to the process for their own good, but I like that he leaves better players for us. I'm not looking to judge our draft, just discuss it.

A lot of people do a lot of work to come up with those rankings. Since Astro sinks a lot of time into it, I'm asking his opinion.
-
Terribly sorry to offend you.
-
Thanks. How do you feel about it overall? I guess my concern is Levitre, giving up two picks to get him will hopefully work out.
-
Sorry if it's already posted, but do you have the value for each Buf player so far?
-
Was that a grinch smile he had? Looked odd, whatever it was. Top notch with the pullover on top of the shirt and tie.

Pittsburgh drafted a return guy in the 3rd.

We stacked interior OL
4BillsintheBurgh replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really, how did did he grade out? Who was second, etc? I'm just hoping we don't resign Denny, Walker and Kelsay to starters money when their contracts come up. For me that means Ellis makes some strides this year and Maybin doesn't bust the year after that and Bell develops. -
It seems to me that the people we have are flexible enough so that we can get the best five on the field. Having to decide at this point who the best five are is a nice problem, no complaints from me. The one thing it looks like though is Bell will not be competing for a guard spot.

Posters analysis of this draft will indicate

I think he's saying it's a positive Maybin didn't test positive.
