Trump's only chance is if he wakes up Monday AM and decides to replace the poor taste attacks with some stately and smart policy presentations. Don't know if he can even do that let alone make the smart decision to do so. He doesn't need to lose the edginess in his appearances completely but he needs to show some polish. I don't think he has it because what we're seeing from him over the past month or so is pretty consistent with his public persona over many years. He's got some great skills, just not all that you need to be a great President. It's a shame because he put himself in a fantastic position early in the campaign but it looks like he's just doesn't have the broad appeal that you need to win.

You might be seeing more of these ladies in the near future.

Hamstrings are tough. Ofen take longer to heal than expected and they re-occur frequently. You never know.

You would be allowed to vote but only for the captain of your bowling team.

How so? Is it not fair? Can you imagine a tax system that taxes everyone at the same rate and an environment where taxes can only be raised or lowered on all at the same time? Can you not see the wisdom in a system like that which removes the political bias in today's tax code which picks winners and losers based on winning votes? One that gives everyone similar skin in the game? Ever wonder how the Bush tax cuts got passed as taxation for all was reduced by similar amounts? Yes, and if you caught the earlier debate - Martha is no slouch. She is a hideous human being inside and out. I miss Huckabee. Like him a lot. He got stronger and stronger in '08 as the campaign endured.

Huckabee, Rubio, Carly, Christy, Kasich did well IMO. Others did too. Trump will lose a few points of support. Rand Paul and Carson have some very admirable qualities and positions. All candidates need more exposure but at the same time there are too many. Some will run out of money and withdraw. It'll be months before there are a few clear leaders.

Trump is a lion. Able to find the weakest of the herd very quickly and able to take advantage quickly. It's an instinctual, keen, rare but unsophisticated skill. He's leveraged that into a very successful career. To his credit he takes care of his people and is a prideful leader. The job of President requires some of that skill but many other skills that he lacks. Trump will lose support as he's exposed as somewhat of a one-trick pony.

OK, so who of the 10 or even the 17 do you like?

So more than let's say Syria? What are the stats if we include crimes committed with bombs, knives and fire?

Lybob is partially right, Obama is in Sheep's clothing but what's inside is a really twisted a$$hole -
Trump will be hard to knock off of his perch in the polls and early primaries as long as there are so many other candidates in the race. Basically Republicans right now are 25% Trump and 75% everyone else. As long as the 75% stays so fragmented, Trump will probably lead. Some of the other candidates need to exit early in order for a couple of the other stronger candidates to challenge Trump. I think Huckabee, Christy, Walker and Kasich will do best tonight and I'm also really interested in the 2nd tier debate as well. Always liked Jim Gilmore but he's been off the radar screen a long time.

Time For A Serious Discussion Re Illegal Immigration
keepthefaith replied to 3rdnlng's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yes, this is about culture and race and the Hispanics themselves make it so. There is a faction of Hispanics that openly talk about their numbers here and how long it will be before they "take over". We had an employee here, a good young guy for the most part, who spoke with me more than once on this. He listened to talk radio at times during the day, Latino stations, that had programming about this. They're extremely brash about what they feel are their "rights" as people coming into this country. We have a very large Hispanic population in the Chicago area and I don't see much assimilation and speaking only or mostly in Spanish is divisive. Make's it harder for people to understand one another. That and their culture has a significant component of people not following the rules. I hear this from teachers regarding parents and students and have had many experiences myself with people of this background that don't play by the rules. They don't want to pay taxes and complain, they trespass, they don't keep their cars registered or insured and the crime rate is high in many of their communities. This behavior and the fact that we citizens know that millions of people should not be here is creating racism because illegal immigration causes conflict and the majority of illegals happen to be of a different race. The sad part to me is that here we are in 2015 and the illegal population has become so large that there is no good or simple answer to the problem. We should have been tightly managing immigration and border security since Reagan. Instead we have a mess on our hands. Both political parties share the blame. -

Gender is now like ordering at Chipotle. You pick tortilla, meat and throw on some breasts, hair and call it what you want. Oh God, what did Hillary order when she was there? -

Hey, it's worked great with our own SS system here in the US. I'm sure Ontario is simply mimicking our great success and prudent financial decision making. -

You forgot hydro power which people like for it's low cost and the recreation that it provides like riding barrels over the falls. Now if the left were smart they'd realize that it's downhill all the way from Canada to the gulf which means that flow of oil would cause enough hydraulic pressure to spin a whole bunch of generators along the way. Slap some taxes on all that and you've got a real winner. -
I can't think of a single US federal government agency that generates a proud return on the taxpayer investment. In this country, we stink at the federal level of managing anything efficiently or with common sense and without a political axe to grind with the possible exception of parts of our military. We flat out suck in anything government run so until we learn how to run things better at the Federal level (and this goes for most states too), we should not even consider creating or enlarging anything government run.
