  1. What control over his or her destiny would be lost if Trump or any other R became President?
  2. Joe working class doesn't really have any leverage. He/she needs a faster growing economy in order to have more job opportunities and higher wages. Without that you have what we have today. Sanders isn't even running on that. His is more of a campaign of wealth redistribution and grievances. https://go.berniesanders.com/page/s/our-platform?source=ads_google_150729&gclid=CjwKEAjwluetBRD98L639p35p0QSJACC8BlKoPR9GYF-ceuaLVzKZvTNLTs0-qD0gn7N7EjuhPgPGhoCWsTw_wcB
  3. OK, but does this deal from Kerry and OB prohibit Iran and Hammas from kissing and making up?
  4. That should earn you an 8 paragraph thrashing before the end of the day.
  5. Haven't read the text of the deal but I'm sure it prohibits Iran from any further support of terrorist groups or aggressions toward countries like Israel. After all, you wouldn't negotiate a deal to give back what is being held unless the other party agrees to cease the activities which caused the sanctions to be invoked in the first place, right?
  6. That's crap. Fox delivers plenty of accurate news and thankfully a lot of it that the other outlets ignore. They also deliver opinion. Too many viewers apparently don't know when they're listening to news as opposed to an opinion. Where we might agree is that more outlets should produce more newsworthy news and not consider their slant so much when deciding what to report or not report.
  7. Fox has plenty of fair news but like all media they pick and choose what they report. Frankly if you're not getting news from a few outlets, you miss a lot and Fox at times is the only TV outlet that covers many stories as the otherwise leftist TV media often ignores or buries what doesn't fit their position. Fox runs a lot of opinion programming which certainly has a right slant but they give air time to guests with opposing views. Unfortunately those guests often don't have a favorable set of facts to work with so they get hammered.
  8. The Governors on the GOP side along with Carly should have the upper hand in the debates against Trump. They can all make him small given that they have run enterprises much larger than his and they are also not part of the Washington establishment (although Kasich spent time there). Trump's messages are long on emotion but shorter on substance than I would expect from him. A businessman should be accustomed to speaking more with numbers and facts but so far Trump has been more bluster than hard core data. The takeaway for the others, though, should be that a lot of people want to see some fire, toughness and plain talk from their candidate.
  9. It'll be very interesting to watch this all evolve over the next several months.
  10. Yes, but if there are 10 other GOP candidates in the race through several primaries and they are all splitting 67% of the support, Trump could very well win or be in the top two in a bunch of primaries with only 25%-30% supporting him. I don't see Bush doing well in the debates. Not his strength IMO.
  11. Once again, racism is the answer. Trump is popular now IMO because he is a plain speaking un-politician. The problem that the rest of the GOP field has is that there is a sameness among several of the candidates and at this early stage they are splitting the remainder of support. Trump is like a 2nd party within the party and with no competition. The longer the 15 non-Trump candidates stay in the race, the better it is for Trump. Trump may well win some early primaries if he gets through the early debates OK and if there are still a whole bunch of other candidates in the race.
  12. That's so unfair. Obama and his ilk have to make the painful and difficult decisions on what to fund and what not to fund because there just isn't enough money to go around. On top of that, they have to do this in the shadows in order to avoid being attacked by obstructionist Republicans and put some blame on the Koch brothers while we're at it.
  13. Like all liberal causes, they never explain how we will pay for it.
  14. Doubt it was real butter. They don't sell that commercially in a 5 gallon container that can be stored at room temp for a month that you can pour directly into the popper or a "butter" dispenser.
  15. Very Trump-like.
  16. No thinking person can look at how Obamacare is constructed and conclude that it is a well crafted solution for providing health insurance to people.
  17. Disagree. Trump IMO will do better among blue collar and union workers than any of his republican challengers. He has a long history of working with unions (most of which is good history) and he will be able be able to appeal to that crowd. His jobs first, Americans first position is likely to be popular among some democrats.
  18. I doubt he runs as a 3rd party candidate unless polls very clearly show him taking a lot of votes from Hillary and the R candidate and I don't believe for a minute that he's a Hillary mole.
  19. I don't think that's it at all. He knows that the GOP knows that if he runs as an independent, the GOP candidate has zero chance to win the election. He's leveraging that and basically telling the GOP not to mess with him.
  20. You're not kidding. Obviously we need the Federal gubmint to take over management of these services because the corporations are ripping us off and while they're at it, the Feds can control the content so that we all get consistent information.
  21. Nah, I'm quite happy staying in the private sector.
  22. I suspect that many liberals read this forum but don't post because that ideology is so difficult to defend. Lurking voters.
  23. Let's hope she's polling well enough to get on stage. She should shine in that environment.
