So who are you cheering for in the playoffs?
BillsPride12 replied to Bronc24's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would be ok with either Cardinals or Panthers winning it all, something different this year. Feel the same way about the Bengals too but I don't have the faith in them getting the job done -
I'm all for stability but I just don't trust Rex as that guy. Not impressed with his overall body of work at all as Head Coach. This season was a freaking circus and Rex doesn't show any desire to change his methods

So I enjoy basketball yet I cannot have a favorite team to follow and support because my city doesn't have one? And the same thing can be said for the guys on here that like baseball....I was the first to point out here that you can't claim multiple teams and agree 100% against the people that mentioned other NFL teams but your argument against having allegiances to the NBA and MLB is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen written on a message board and we all know that says alot.

If you could get into a time machine...

This is what kills me with this franchise. We have shot ourselves in the foot so many times with poor drafting. The drafting has gotten much better in more recent years but I don't know if I will ever get over the drafts of those particular years. -

I'd like to be a fly on the wall during that conversation. The young Jim Kelly would have most likely told you to F*** Right Off -
Who Gets On The Wall Of Fame In 2016?
BillsPride12 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is already on there, and he more than enough warrants it. He was actually one of the very first guys from the Super Bowl years to go up there -
We need more than locker room guys, we need guys who have IT and can produce on the field first and foremost. That's the best leadership you can have. When the game is on the line who is that guy we turn to and say hey you have to make a play for us right now. At the NFL level you need to have self-motivated, driven players who are competitive as all hell. If you need somebody in the locker room to give the other guys pep talks then the mental makeup of the entire team is soft. Although very brief clips, one of my favorite scenes from the Bills 30 for 30 the other night was when Steve Tasker was talking about all the talent they had on the team and then he said they weren't afraid to tell you that they were good either and then they showed a clip of Cornelius Bennett on the sideline going "I'm for real goddammit" and then to a clip of Bruce proclaiming 'Give me that defensive player of the year award" It gave me goosebumps, that's the kind of attitude that takes you to Super Bowls. A belief and confidence a guy has in himself. Those 90's teams were LOADED with players like that

Super Bowl: Patriots vs. Seahawks again.

I have a gut feeling Pittsburgh could end up going from the AFC -
That ending was cool and all but I was alittle disappointed after hearing there was this amazing surprise ending because that scenario where Norwood's kick being doctored to going through the upright and Van Miller calling the Bills Super Bowl win had already been done exactly the same going all the way back to the 1991 Buffalo Bills highlight film

FWIW in some of the articles I've read the Bickering Bills stuff is brought up in the film, Thurman also talks about the lost helmet incident in Super Bowl 26. When it comes down to it there are just too many realities regarding the things that went wrong during those years as well for them to not present that part of the story. I do think the partying stuff gets swept under the rug though

Not at all on my part, I'm super excited for this 30 for 30 and have actually been wanting to see a 30 for 30 on this subject since the series started, I'm still almost kind of shocked this became a reality. There is so much more to those Bills teams than the partying off the field and I can't wait to enjoy every minute of it. My point was that IT IS part of the story however and I just don't think any of that is going to be looked at in this documentary. I disagree with those saying its all going to be cheerful and gloss over the negative parts of losing four Super Bowls. I guarantee there will be some painful stuff to endure as well

Yeah with the Bills players from that era its very interesting to me. There were always alot of stories about the likes of Lawrence Taylor and alot of the 90s Cowboys players, etc. but the Bills never had any of their shenanigans leak out publicly. I think the only reason Bills fans know how crazy things were behind the scenes is because of how small a town Buffalo really is and a lot of fans witnessed the Bills partying their ass off firsthand. I know of at least one guy I trust 100% who saw guys out the nignt before the first Dallas Super Bowl at 4am getting after it and I've heard countless other secondhand stories over the years.

I was hoping this documentary would actually call them out on the hard partying before the bowls, but I listened to an interview with the director of the film on Shred and Ragan this morning(local Buffalo radio talkshow for those not in WNY) and he brought up how the film does ask the question why didn't they win one of them and then either Shred or Ragan commented about the partying and the director kind of just glossed right over that and started talking about the opponents and the mental struggles after losing the first couple, etc....doesn't sound like that topic will be addressed at all in this

Do you know if this will be the lot Pinto Ron will be tailgating in as well?

I remember him talking about playing basketball with TO during the offseasons during his NFL career -
All I know is I wasted mid round draft picks on Spiller in two fantasy leagues this year

Will be interesting to see if they get into that aspect at all, for the most part the tales of the Bills hard partying ways haven't been documented publicly but alot of these 30 for 30's really get down to the gritty topics. Also noticed that it is going to be two hours long, so I think there is going to be a ton of ground it covers.

I think it was two years ago they changed the law to make open containers illegal while walking the sidewalks to the game. It got a lot of attention when they first announced it and from what I heard they were even pretty lenient with enforcing it for awhile as people got accoustomed to the change but at some point I guess they have to get stricter on it. It does suck because that was a non-issue for so many years at the Ralph but as they say these times are a changing
