  1. How many times has this guy failed as a coach/OC? He has more lives than a junkyard cat...
  2. Love the comments section...
  3. "Measure twice, cut once" Both the HC and GM seem inclined to quick, decisive action. That's typically a good thing, but can also lead to some spectacular misses. I hope this debacle teaches them to be a bit more flexible and reflective in coaching approach and building a roster. If not, they're just another set of Bobbsey Twins passing through on their way to somewhere else...
  4. It's a frigg'n game! Entertainment for the purpose of selling beer and light trucks/SUVs. An excuse to waste untold hours on Internet message boards. Friendship is a hell of a lot more important than football...
  5. Another common element--both guys put a lot of thought into their analyses. No hot takes. No telling us what we already know. No "look at me!" They would have been failures today, but were giants back when those qualities were genuinely valued (and valuable)...
  6. Agree with Peter King--there was only one Dr. Z. In his prime, he was the best out there. RIP...
  7. The first thing I thought was, "...Isn't that his normal accuracy?"
  8. I remember thinking the same thing when I saw that shot. LOL, what was that guy thinking when he made that thing... Oooohh. Probably be on legal paper...
  9. Win a game? Here you go, Nate....
  10. $3 million operating deficit? That's the cost of mile or two of street repaving (i.e., Erie County just spent $2.2 million to build a bike trail on the old Bethlehem Steel property). Hotel room bookings, restaurant seatings and other tourism revenue surely offset any subsidy of that magnitude. Regarding Pittsburgh, convention business brought in $90 million in direct spending last year, for example...
  11. Nice analogy. Sort of like this headline as well: https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/health-dont-bang-your-head-against-a-wall-to-relieve-the-pain-1185477.html
  12. Damn it! By quoting him, I had to read that stupid post even though he's safely hidden away in my ignore heap. Thanks a lot...
  13. Bupkis. Many mid-sized cities have active convention centers and Buffalo can compete for business in that space nine moths a year. It will never be Orlando or Nashville, but it can certainly be Pittsburgh, Louisville or Jacksonville... https://www.cvent.com/en/marketing/top-50/2017-top-destinations-us.php
  14. I'm saying we could have kept Glenn and used a 2019 draft pick in the package used to snag Allen. They created a self-inflicted wound by tossing Glenn away when there were other, less radical alternatives... What makes you think he couldn't? It's a lot easier to play OG than LOT...
  15. Me neither. Glenn missed roughly 16 games spread across two seasons with an injury that takes about a year to heal. The same old impatient voices on TSW and elsewhere locked on to a "damaged goods" refrain. This may have even colored McBeane's thinking, given their lack of history with him. Sigh...
  16. That was a big miss on Beane's part, IMO. The better alternative would have been to include a 2019 draft pick in the package needed to move up for the QB. He would then have the franchise QB and his LT position locked down, allowing Dawkins to fill another spot on the O-line. Instead, he went the high wire route and fell off. He's still falling and we haven't heard the splash yet, either...
  17. ....definitely watch. Nate's the best sitcom on TV...
  18. Sounds a little self-serving to me. Here's the New York Times story when the meeting took place. While Pegs comes off as naive, he's not quite the guy Reid makes him out to be: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/25/sports/nfl-owners-kaepernick.html The Buffalo Bills owner Terry Pegula sounded anguished over the uncertainty of when Trump would take another shot at the league. “All Donald needs to do is to start to do this again,” Pegula said. “We need some kind of immediate plan because of what’s going on in society. All of us now, we need to put a Band-Aid on what’s going on in the country.” Pegula complained that the league was “under assault.” He unloaded a dizzying flurry of nautical metaphors to describe their predicament. “To me, this is like a glacier moving into the ocean,” he said. “We’re getting hit with a tsunami.” He expressed his wish that the league never be “a glacier crawling into the ocean.” Pegula offered that he thought the league was battling a perception and “media problem.” He said it would be great for the league to find a compelling spokesman — preferably a player — to promote all of the good things they were doing together. He suggested that the league could learn from the gun lobby in this regard. “For years we’ve watched the National Rifle Association use Charlton Heston as a figurehead,” Pegula said. “We need a spokesman.”
  19. Are you kidding. Pegs is just happy to have a daily bowel movement. Which, come to think of it, is pretty much sums up the state of the Bills. Grunt Harder...
  20. Good decision. It's a lot more fun to watch Nate throw pick-6's than tired, old Anderson who I feel sorry for...
  21. Whoot! I've heard of him....
  22. I don't know why this is difficult to understand. Whaley and his scouts built the draft board and acted as a resource for the draft. Nothing more. McD made the picks using that board and how he wanted to structure the team. That some of those picks have turned out to be questionable is entirely on him...
