  1. Take it for what its worth, but I got it from a good source. The latest departures weren't about performance, they were largely "Russ B, the sequel..."
  2. Not really. All his other assets were probably already pledged against other loans he had for his hotels, etc. Remember, he's the King of Debt. He doesn't pay cash for anything....
  3. So, basically what you're saying is the team isn't good enough? LOL.... You left out the forwards. We probably need some of them as well, especially a second line center and a few wingers that can score.
  4. The $4 billion is the increase in his net worth, not what he bid. He was looking to secure financing from Deutsche Bank to cover his Bills bid (of slightly less than $1 billion, IIRC). The higher his net worth, the more likely he would qualify for the loan...
  5. Uhhh, you know he provided the documents that Trump gave Deutsche Bank in regard to seeking financing to buy the Bills as evidence supporting his testimony. Those documents are not a lie, at least by Cohen anyway...
  6. OT. Leo really surprised me with this one. Great read.... https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/hockey/nhl/sabres/2019/02/21/joe-crozier-rochester-amerks-buffalo-sabres-ahl-nhl-toronto-hall-of-fame-dementia-hockey-calder-cup/2554235002/
  7. I've seen Frampton three times at Artpark and he's always put on a great show. Set list highlights for me are always great versions of Black Hole Sun and While My Guitar Gently Weeps. He's still a great player but his voice is starting to go, so It makes sense that he's calling it quits... https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/peter-frampton-degenerative-muscle-disease-ibm-797556/
  8. The Sabres probably would have liked that as well. I suspect getting him to turn pro may have required a promise he'd be with the big club this season...
  9. Deflate-gate Part II. There's a little blue pill for that, Bob.....
  10. A guy with "thug" in his handle is complaining about rude? Fo shizzle...
  11. Different eras. In the 1990 season, the Bills threw the ball 425 times and Reed had 71 catches. In 2017, Pittsburgh threw 584 times with 163 targets to AB alone (101 catches). In 2018, that number increased to 686 attempts, with 168 to Brown (104 receptions). Brown may well make the HOF but his stats have to be compared to his contemporaries, not guys from 20+ years ago...
  12. How many times are you going to make the same point? This is a bad team, full stop.
  13. Your ire should be directed at Botteril for the roster he put together. Housley's stuck with two good lines (the first and the fourth) and has to keep shuffling the deck with no face cards or diamonds to be found. The prospects in Rochester are not NHL-ready, especially with Nylander hurt. And the worst way to turn them into the next Tage Thompson would be to bring them up, hoping they'll be the answer... BTW, here's another reason why Bots is not calling on the Amerks for help right now: https://www.diebytheblade.com/2019/2/18/18228314/amerks-weekly-rochester-americans-buffalo-sabres-ahl-syracuse-crunch-tampa-bay-lightning-hockey-nhl Second Line - Victor Olofsson, Rasmus Asplund, and Danny O’Regan have arguably been the Amerks best line all season, but they went missing in four games last week, putting up a combined total of zero points. They combined to be only a -5 overall in those five games, so they weren’t exactly a liability on the ice, but the Amerks need these guys to get the puck in the net. The depth scoring has been great, but it won’t always be there and the snipers will need to fill the net more often than not.
  14. Not Sabres related, but a neat video nevertheless: https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ftw/2019/02/18/pierre-mcguire-puck-head-nbc-broadcast-lightning-blue-jackets/39078369/
  15. Today's NFL is about 2.5 second releases and moving the chains. The days of Raider-type long ball are long gone Having a solid running game is also an immeasuable help any QB, including Allen. A top notch TE adds value to both of those concepts, IMO...
  16. Same here. As a kid of the 60s, we lived in the woods all week and only came home on Saturday night to take a bath. Houses were for wimps...
  17. I'm with you. A TE like T.J. Hockenson from Iowa would address two major problems--the intermediate passing game and and the running game. TE's are involved in the play on a much higher percentage of snaps than deep threat WRs and would be a great security blanket for Allen. https://www.si.com/nfl/2019/02/13/draft-big-board-rankings-nick-bosa-dwayne-haskins-kyler-murray-drew-lock-daniel-jones T.J. HOCKENSON, TE, IOWA Height: 6' 5" | Weight: 250 pounds An athletic tight end who also blocks people? It’s true! Hockenson has a blend of athleticism and physicality rarely seen in collegiate tight ends. He’s going to be a plus in the run game, and he’s a pass-catching threat too, a fluid mover with the ability to create separation and tough to bring down with the ball in his hands. When's the last time we had a TE who could do this: https://streamable.com/4s44j
  18. The roster is not good enough. That's been apparent for months, but Bots seems committed to his slow roll, "develop the prospects as Job One" plan. Housley realizes it, and the team appears to as well. The players are coming to the realization that help is not on the way this season. And their inconsistent efforts, especially against physical, forechecking teams, are reflecting that mindset. Those three first round picks and the kids in the pipeline better turn out to be quality NH-ers in the next few years, because that's what the franchise is betting on...
  19. Those NY Post pics look totally photoshopped....
  20. The ignore user feature is your friend. Apply liberally...
  21. Flacco's contract made him less desirable than TT, however, so it's probably a wash...
