  1. Here's another quote from the article, "The black quarterback is told, 'Do something, make a big play." Plus, all the running QBs mentioned are black where the pocket passers mentioned are white. What the author and Gandy fail to realize is that they are making a false arguement based on stereotypes that they hold. I'm sorry but c'mon, you don't even need to read between the lines on this one.
  2. No. The article is implying that black QBs are taught differently than white QBs and that's why they struggle in the NFL more. It's an attempt to pawn off Vick's poor play on fans and coaches. It tries to make him a victim, his poor decisions are the result of the way he was treated because of the color of his skin. Players are coached based on their ability and what they excel at. Brady and Manning aren't taught to take off and run with the ball because it's not something they are good at doing. However, Steve Young probably was and we all know JP was taught that last year. So the idea that only black QBs are coached like Vick is a complete falsehood. Also, Warren Moon was coached like Manning, to be a pocket passer, because that was his strength. The idea that skin color determines coaching style is a flat out lie.
  3. I think the number will be up by 2 or 3 thousand.
  4. Amen to that! Anybody who thinks it's dead wasn't there. I wouldn't have been screaming as loud to preserve the shutout at the end of the game, if it wasn't the fish. Miami sucks-forever!
  5. Wait. A bunch of teams aren't going to sell out their stadiums this Sunday? Are they all moving to LA? I mean c'mon. LA Rams, that sounds kind of weird.
  6. I'm doing the same. Thanks for your hard work and analysis.
  7. The worst part about this is, it isn't new. The same complaints were heard 10-15 years ago and the Bills haven't done anything to solve the problem. This poor distribution system was the talk of every playoff run back in the golden era. Their entire business model seems based on selling all their tickets in the summer. Their track record for selling tickets in-season is horrible. How much of a walk-up crowd will there be for future games, if this is the way they treat their customers?
  8. I feel like I'm bathing in raw sewage typing this but go Pats and Fins. We need them both to win this weekend. NE vs Jags Miami vs Jets and while I'm at it, go Broncos. Cinci vs Denver.
  9. It's a flat out lie that the Bills were the first team not to have a sellout this year. Jacksonville hasn't sold out a single game. They just threw a bunch of tarps over whole sections of the stadium so they can have "sellouts".
  10. The Bills highlights were on and it was all pro-Buffalo. Mentioned several times we're still in the playoff hunt. Showed a graffic of all the teams left in the AFC and drop Miami from the list after the Bills highlights. I actually enjoyed the show today. I thought they were funny, especially Collingworth saying, "Billick is telling the team not to act like the Bengals."
  11. Anybody hear Jason Peters after the game? The team is motivated to play Mularkey. Peters said "He called me into his office and told me to get ready for next season, then he quit on us."
  12. I agree the season is a success. Next year we need to beat the Pats.
  13. Lamar Hunt was the one of the greatest visionary in NFL history. After Ralph, I think he's the man we owe the most for the fun we have ever Sunday in the Fall. I don't understand why his passing isn't the front page story on ever website. In fact, It's not ever the top story on the NFL section of most sites. They'll happily broadcast what T.O. had for lunch every week but when something important happens, they ignore it. Lamar Hunt deserves to be honored. He desevres a lot more than the NFL media is giving him.
  14. It's been lousy football for 6 years now. You're not going to erase that with one late season surge. I don't really feel guilty about it. In fact, after the way TD destroyed this organization, I'm kind of proud we can still get 65,000 in the Ralph and outsell a lot of other cities. It shows that Buffalo is a great football market.
  15. Call me crazy but if Wilson was really hinting that the Bills were about to leave town, the story would have made the front page. It wouldn't be burried on page D3. The man is being political and trying to get the best deal for his club. Let him do it and rest easy that the Bills aren't going anywhere.
  16. None of the above. No matter who buys them, Orchard Park, New York for many years to come. (Until we build a new stadium.)
  17. "Another encouraging note for Buffalo fans: The Bills reportedly will have the second-most projected room under the salary cap in 2007. The salary cap is expected to increase to $109 million per team (up from $102 million in 2006) and Alex Marvez of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that Buffalo's projected cap room of $39.7 million ranks behind only San Francisco's $42.1 million. Other AFC East teams: New England $30.4 million (ninth-most); New York Jets $26.1 million (13th); and Miami $17.8 million (20th)." Rochester's Paper
  18. I wouldn't bet money on the Bills making it but this isn't the most implausible playoff scenario. I'll buy into the Bills maybe making the playoff for one more week. Anybody remember the year we needed a game between Seattle and, I think, the Raiders to tie in order for the Bills to make the playoffs? I want to say it was Kay Stephenson's first year as head coach. My friends and I all wore ties to school the Friday before that weekend, trying to give the Bills some good luck. (Needless to say, we didn't make it in that year. )
  19. 50 is still freezing for the thin skined fins. Couple the way they have been playing since the bye with a sweep against the Fish and I'll declare the season a unqualified success.
  20. I agree. I know he didn't show much in training camp but I thought he was starting to get it in his last two games before the injury. Still wouldn't mind picking up another interior d-lineman in the off-season, however. The more depth, the better.
  21. This is priceless. He spent a good part of the week wondering what the Bills had to do this off-season to be "where the Jets are". He was just as negative about the Sabres at the beginning of last season. Didn't jump on the bandwagon until they were undeniably good.
  22. I missed this whole story. What did he say? I heard a guest on WGR say he almost got fired.
  23. No offense, but you do realize that the players live in the area for at least half the year.
