  1. He's not "revered" in Toronto. That's all media fluff created by the new President of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (half-owned by Rogers), Tim Leinweike. He just happened to be Bon Jovi's agent for x amount of years before getting this job. It actually made Leaf fans sick that he put Bon Jovi up into the rafters.
  2. Whatever suits your ill-informed crusade I guess. And look who's decided to join you. Judged by the company you keep... Where's DC Tom when you need him?
  3. Dude...dude. Really? I mean, really? Have you met the Buffalo Bills?
  4. No...this is Petty
  5. Montgomery claims they were cut for smoking cigars... https://twitter.com/taniaganguli/status/392374957063565312 Sure you were...what kind of tobaccy was in those cigars? Were they of the wacky variety?
  6. He's #1 in my heart.
  7. Another classic FireChan thread....
  8. And therein lies the hypocrisy of the NFL....THE SHIELD determines what charities are beneficial for them. As Big Cat pointed out, aligning with the Susan Komen foundation has ancillary benefits to the NFL. I have problems with the "Breast Cancer Awareness" campaign. To me, it's just an excuse for companies to shill pink products in the name of "awareness". Myself, I give my money directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, a foundation that aims for a cure and spends all its gains on research. The SGK Foundation to me seems 'unseemly" with some of what I've read on where the money goes. I've had family affected by cancer so I donate to the cause. And I don't have a problem with pink clothes. I wear pink all the time. In fact, pink was originally a "boys color" - http://www.omg-facts.com/History/In-Western-Culture-Pink-Was-The-Color-Or/13470 Also, I wish the NFL and other leagues would get on the MOVEMBER bandwagon. There are guys in the NHL who individually take part and gives players a chance to grow sweet Magnum PI dusters. Mens health is important too!
  9. Sorry, but Natives are actually fighting the NCAA to KEEP THE NAME of the Fighting Sioux, because they take pride in the name and it was the NCAA that forced the name change. http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/page/120307-Fighting%20Sioux/north-dakota-fighting-sioux-nickname-logo-center-dispute-state-ncaa-tribes
  10. You're completely avoiding the fact that he is AWFUL. Literally ANY street free agent is better than him. Legursky proved to be much better than him and they have McClain and Asper now up. Both those are better options than Colin "I suck at football" Brown. Seriously, this is the definition of "no-brainer".
  11. What's sad about all of this is that it's solely the name Native Americans have a problem with. They can keep the logo, colors, etc so why doesn't Snyder just sit down with Native American leaders and choose another name that would "honor" natives like he claims the "Redskins" name does? Washington Warriors, Washington Red Feathers, etc. For all of you crying this is PC B.S. I would like you to go up to a group of native peoples and call them Redskins to their faces. If you can't bring yourself to do it, then you know why this name is offensive. PC Liberalness has gone overboard at times (for example, the Bullets changing names to Wizards) but this is not one of those situations.
  12. STRAIGHT UP BULL CRAP. I want my team standing up for ourselves. That was a garbage flag and Ed Hoculie needs to spend less time pumping himself full of horse testerone and doing bicep curls and more time learning how to call a game. That game was dreadfully officiated.
  13. You know what? I'm as negative as it gets when it comes to the Bills...30+ years of fandom with so few highs and so many lows will do that to you. But this year...feels different... There is something positive happening with this team in that they're growing together. It feels like all we need to do is learn how to win again. In the past, when the #1 QB would go down, the season would derail but yesterday, there the Bills were, with Thad Lewis at the helm, putting up more TDs than the Patriots did against that same Cincy D. It feels different.
  14. Oh man...at least he's a decent back up.
  15. This is the worst the D has looked all year?!? What gives?!?
  16. Kiko looks human today... D looks terrible.
  17. Not going to lie...looking forward to Pettine running this team.
  18. I should have added "In this modern era" or "since Bruce played." The point I was making is that its been a LONG time since the Bills had any pass rusher worth double-teaming.
  19. I'm not sure why everyone here is letting one person who seems to know nothing valuable about football other than citing a very subjective study on a website get to them about Mario. Anyone with half a brain can see with their eyes how much of an impact player he has been this season. I don't think I've ever seen a Bill get so blatantly held so that he cannot make a play on the QB like Mario does.
  20. Meh, he's a shell of the former player he was. I've honestly forgotten that he was a Bill as that era seems so far removed from the stage this team is at now.
  21. Anyone who hates Stevie and still has to harp on his game is a certified idiot and NOT A BILLS FAN. So tired of seeing people's insecurity about how much more successful people like Mario, Stevie and anyone else making a good paycheck playing ball using it as a sad excuse to criticize my team.
  22. /end thread Hilarious AND topical!
  23. Bringing down the "hammer". /sarcasm
  24. Wow. So much nerd-raging for this choice. Affleck is an accomplished actor and has been doing really well in his last few roles. Not only that, but like you, he's also a huge comic book nerd and knows the source material (The Dark Knight Returns from which this film will be based on) incredibly well. In DKR, Batman is old and beaten down. I think Affleck can portray that.
